I think it will be more helpful to know ur current specification...Like ur ROM/kernel/ Network
Battery drain is different for different people. If u have poor network signal, then drain would be more. For me I use system tuner with my ROM. Keep the Governor as smartass while normal use and conservative with Max frequency 384 mhz while screen off (found this setting while searching other threads). I am a simple user & have not much idea about processor/voltage tweaks. But plz give ur info into more details and may be others can help U. best of luck

You didn't reply when asked:
What is your current ROM, kernel and network.
Without these it is difficult to reply.
If you are using default HTC ROM, then using the HTC Sense Online Account can be a massive battery drain.
Have you installed many applications that might update themselves the whole time?
Give us more information.
A lot of HTC roms are giving wrong values. Don't give too much about them
Miui roms have good batt life. So do AOSP roms

You can download BetterBatteryStats. Charge your phone to full and leave it idle overnight. Then open BetterBatteryStats and see under "Partial Wakelocks" and "Kernel Wakelocks" too see if any app keeps waking up the phone. Then try tweaking those apps sync interval, set it to longest interval possible or just turn off syncing.
If you experience drain with wifi on, it maybe because of the router sending weird signals and keeps the phone up ( like with my old DLink router, it drains 10%/h doing nothing). Try switching to another router if that is the case.
Calibration is a myth and it doesn't help with battery life.
Why don't you try super wipe everything and flash a new rom and kernel from scratch and see if you still get drain from this clean state. My recommendation would be ROM : ARHD 6.5.5 and Kernel : SebastianFM's OverclockedKernel. I have excellent battery life with this combination. I also undervolt all steps -100mV.
you must get new strong battery

Also use system tuner or setcpu to set minumum cpu speed from 384Mhz to 192Mhz. It helps me with playing music when screen off ( from 6-7%/h to 2-3%/h).
4XT recovery is touch version of cwm with some more features like MD5 checksum, mount sd etc... Try it and you will love it. Good luck.

Hi I'm new to sensation dev and I have a quick question I'm use sense 4.0 Rom with faux123 kernel I was just askingif there is a battery mod or something to help save battery?
Oh yeah the Rom is ordroid 8.6.5 4.0.3
Sent from my Sensation 4G
I think there is but I'm not sure of link but wanted to ask are you still stock battery? It helps a lot if you upgrade to a longer lasting battery say like Anker. I use Anker and its made a huge difference in my battery life. Also after flashing rom, make sure battery is at 100% then plug into charger, go into recovery, wipe battery stats, then unplug. This helps a lot. Also make sure things like sync is turned off for things you don't need, stop non needed running applications in the background, turn off blinking notifications , turn off feedback vibration ect, make sure backlight is minimum brightness, doing these things with a better battery will really help you! You will be surprised how much more time you get with Anker battery. I wish you the best! Hope you get the better battery because is really made a difference !
ps I'm running Ordroid 8.6.5 also

Hi guys what settings should I use when installing viperS Rom in order to avoid lags and battery quick drainage. Please I need help I have installed this Rom twice now and I experience lag and my battery drains quick.
The best solution for me was flashing Faux123 Kernel
I flashed sebastian kernel with the mod. So far it seems to help.
I asked this same question on viper site and this was many people's suggestion. Look on viper site a few pages back and the links are posted for the kernel. Then look for the mod in android themes and apps. I've had pretty decent battery so far.. best wishes

I forgot to say in tweaks in advanced settings, disable log cat for better battery life. You won't have logging, but most of us don't use the logging anyway.if you have problems and need logging just turn back on. But I keep mine off to save battery.

I keep hearing any of the sense 3 ROMs will you superior battery life to any other ROM. Also I find when I'm on a sense based ROM my WiFi signal is stronger than cm or aokp ROMs. Right now I'm on cm10 and get OK battery life. Sense 4 is kind of laggy to me and I can't deal with it I like smooth ROMs . I'm hoping sense 3.6 won't be so laggy. I will probably try a sense 3.6 ROM and only use it for a couple days for some reason I switch ROMs alooooooooot.

Hi there I'm running viper now with sebastian 1.5.2 kernel with kernel mod for battery life. It's made a wonderful difference for me. Right now I've been searching web , visiting you tube, and on forums, and I'm on 6 and a half hours on my battery and I'm running at 79% right now. I'd say that's pretty good. I've done a few downloads too . It's much better than it used to be. I also use juice defender and have calibrated my battery. I know others have gotten better battery life than that but for me its a HUGE improvement . Before changing kernels and mod I was having to charge twice a day! I'm very happy with my results! The kernel and mod has made a huge difference for me personally! Hope this helps. Best wishes to you.

Hi everyone,
I have found best solution for my battery is OrDroid 9.00 ROM with bricked kernel (all default mhz's)
57% left - 17 hrs 30 mins since boot - 1 hrs 40 mins on Screen.
With every other ROM (sense 3.6) battery was teribly short - 2 hrs on Screen and Sensation is dead...
Hi all,
just wanna say that I'm finally fully satisfied with my phone in it's current state.
I used to mess around with different ROM's, ARHD, CM, elegancia. Untill now none of the setups managed to yield a stable an smooth working phone. I had poor perfomance, random shutdowns and poor battery life (especially when I used CM9 I couldn't get it to stay unplugged for more then 7 hours). tried everything in the book to make it work. Up to the point where I was starting to regret that I rooted my phone.
untill now, I made sure the contacts with the battery is firmly attached, I installed CM10.1 (need to adjust siggy) and now my phone is finally kickin. It's rock stable, smooth and fast! At night, with WiFi on it's actualy idle! it's like losing 1% battery in 10 hours. With JB and perfomance governor the UI transitions are just eyecandy smooth. I guess the main problem was the battery pins, think they weren't attaced properly.
With no shutdowns, no battery drain, fun with CM tweaks, UI altering capabilities and a Quadrant Standard score of 3301 I've finally got the feeling that I'm on the pinnacle of my phone's perfomance capabillities.
With provider subscription prices skyrocketing in my country, and my phone in it's current state I'm eager to keep this phone another year with a sim-only subscription.
so thanks all for the help

the 4 pins that connect the battery to the phone. I stuffed a piece of paper between the upper right corner of the battery and the phone battery housing. This way the battery will be pressed more firmly against the pins to ensure better contact.
Glad to hear you are happy. I would love to be able to use CM10.1 based ROM's but sadly, I need my TMobile WiFi Calling support. Hopefully, TMOUS will release a JB friendly version of WiFi calling... until then, its Elegancia for me!

Governor: Perfomance on min 384, max 1566
I/O scheduler: SIO

Exactly like you, I have tested a lot of roms, and the best one for my Sensation is CM10.1 4.2.2 by Albinoman!
My governor is lagFree, because I don't think it's good for the phone to be on performance all the time (maybe I'm wrong!). With Atom Launcher, it's the best compromise (personal experience) for a smooth and fast Sensation.
okay couldn't find an off topic thread so I'm posting here ! Okay my phone is S-off, blackrose hboot running jellybean. I understand the process will be similar.
Okay so my mate has an XE. Will the methods be universal? He has a stock, ill find his hboot later. I'm guessing a HTC dev unlock is possible ? Then I flash the boot image. ( fastboot flash boot boot.IMG ) Also could I have an idea of a nice smooth and stable Rom?
Sorry for messy post. Cheers

XE is nothing more then a normal sensation with OC'd CPU, different battery and beats audio pre-installed.
So I guess you want to root a stock, locked bootloader with S-ON Sensation XE and flash a custom ROM? If so any of the different ROMs in android development section are smooth and stable ROMs. It depends on your preferences, do you want sense or no-sense, Jelly Bean or Ice Cream Sandwich?
HTC dev unlock is possible (without getting S-OFF). But that depends on what the current hboot is right now. u could for example also run the juepunutbear tool and install that hboot to get unlocked bootloader.
look up the hboot info of your mate's XE and find the apropiate method to unlock, flash recovery and custom ROM in any of the guides on this board. Depending on what kind of FW you're running right now, and what FW you want to be using you might need to update it.
can't really say if a proces is similar if we don't know what kind of FW we're dealing with.
THANKS, I'm not sure what you mean by FW. However I know how to flash and ill give a look at that s-off tool. I'll find his Hboot and report back. He is on latest ics so I'm guessing its newest. Yer I switch between sense and AOSP. So ill look and find what he wants . Thanks for your help.

Man, all I know is that I switched to Viper S for the week after using CM10 for half the year and couldn't deal. I like sense, but the trade-off when it comes to lag just isn't worth it. Yes there's a better camera and better signal without question, but boy was it laggy. Had to reboot so many times because I thought the phone just froze up. Can't go back from jelly bean now
