Hello everyone I cannot see a sector for my phone HTC Sensation Xe....I can see the forum for the Sensation and for the Sensation XL.......The Sensation Xe It's not the same phone !! a different processor, different in many other features. Please make the specific forum for this phone ....It's not a Sensation.....it is a Sensation Xe
only the case is different .
dont worry, i have XE too. anything works on sensation works on sensation XE
It's identical to the Sensation, apart from Beats software and the processor running faster. All ROMs and mods for the Sensation also apply to the XE, this is why there's no separate section.

its one back cover ($25), beats earphones ($45) & flashed rom from being a Sensation 4G
Size is the same so it is possible to flash the same roms that the normal sensation has.
Don't forget the red accents on the camera speaker grill and red LEDs. It also has a larger battery to cover the overclock.
I have a Sensation XE and its the exact same phone. Thought I did notice that the LCD panel on the xe does appear to be a little more brighter and clearer. Might have just being a defective sensation model

You probably had the sharp screen on your first sensation. Much duller than the Acer screen. I just got my original sensation replaced because of dust under the screen and had the sharp screen. The new one has Acer and I am way happier with it. Way brighter and more vivid with awesome viewing angle. Some prefer the sharp though.

Yes. The two models are IDENTICAL. The only difference is aesthetics. Overclock an beats audio don't count as custom ROMs and kernels provide them.

The reason the XL has its own forum is because
1)The XL has a single core. The Sensation has dual core.
2)The XL has a 4.7" screen. The Sensation has a 4.3" screen.
3)The XL has WVGA(480x800). The Sensation has qHD(960x540).
These reasons make Sensation(XE) ROMS incompatible with the XL.

I'm thinking about buying an Android device to try and walk since the beginning of the month to choose one ...
I had seen on vodafone HTC Sensation, but a few days ago I saw that HTC released new models sesantion, including HTC Sensation XE.
Like to have your opinion on what I choose, in terms of quality and price, preference the phone that last longer without needing to change. have more support.

There the same phone the sensation is undrclocked to 1.2 where as the XE is clicked to 1.5 the XE looks slightly better in my opinion and has a bigger battery, the headphones are also rrp£79 with the XE
The hardware is exactly the same, if you plan to custom rom take the sensation if not take the XE

You're suggesting to pick the normal Sensation if he plans to install custom ROMS, why do you have the XE then and install CM7?

Get og sensation. With the money you save buy a bigger sd card and headphones of your choice then root and flash xe rom and bam you have beats edition for a lower price. However i prefer cm7 with dsp manager or power amp

I got the HTC Sensation -
now there's a Sensation XL!! (White!!) Goodness, I think HTC got APPLE virus, "What comes in black, must turn white!"
I agree with some users here. Get the Sensation & root it. But my question:
1) XE model & XL model have bigger internal memory I think. But the RAM is at 768Mb... that's quite unfortunate.
2) Battery life - yes they are slightly larger = 1,620mA (Can't we buy that as a second battery ? - I would. But my battery life looks alright for the 1st month (after rooting, but I realise the charging to 100% is very slow.) I reckon it could be the voltage or the plug. I actually use the old plug with the new Micro USB cable.

The normal sensation runs at 1.5ghz and got the beats audio? or just the speed processor?
You can have both, tbh the beats software is pants power amp is better

1GB RAM and 16GB internal? You sure, im buying it next week, all speces show 4gb(1gb usable), and 768 RAM, even on HTC web, gsmarena..and so...
EIDT: Sorry didint notice you wrote XL, its all OK
XL only supports 720p video recording and lacks a card slot. I have just got the XE and I'm super impressed with it.
i like my sensation don't think the other models are worth it.. unless you like red and the headphones...
I was always a Sony Ericson man, then got the Desire - fabulous!
Next I upgraded to the Desire HD and now have the Sensation XE - brilliant, fast, good looking. Great sound & free headphones. Amazing phone... go for it

I've decided that my next phone will be a HTC sensation, but what if we could buy a HTC sensation xe back cover, use it on an original sensation, then BAM! Red speaker grill, black back cover and beats audio logo printed on. That coupled with a custom ROM that gives you a beats audio profile will give you a sensation identical to a sensation xe except for the red LED lights and the higher capacity battery( you could buy high capacity battery).
So, what do you think?

But yeah, I hope I can get a XE cover soon, I want to make the current one brushed aluminum

I've heard it won't work. Something to do with the pins or the antenna on the back covers being different. But don't take my word for it lol

I think thats just the T-Mobile USA it applies to, as the antenna is different on the Sensation 4G

Go to ebay uk search 'htc sensation xe back cover' its the 8th or 9th one down it says 'ORIGINAL OEM HTC SENSATION XE BEATS AUDIO BLACK REAR BACK DOOR BATTERY COVER' It might be from hong kong but its a start, only £30 too!
i've been thinking about how to do this with a tmous sensation... and this is what i've found.... the XE back has a spot for the 4g contact... what do you guys think?
You can always purchase the new XE cover from ebay and pop off the top plastic piece and replace it with your original one so you can retain the antenna. The camera ring also pops off. The only difference would be the plastic will be two-tone from the bottom piece like the original sensation.

My Sensation is a Z710a (Australian model) It doesn't have the contact on the top left but does use 4G. It used to show a H but since changing to Coredroid, it shows 4G. (it also shows up as a Z710e now)If that missing contact is supposed to be the 4G antenna, how am I using 4G?
Also, what are the small contacts on the left about 2/3rd's of the way down? mine has 3
Hey whats up guys! I have T-Mobile and just got my White HTC Sensation housing from ebay. It came with only 3 antennas but just so you know, I still get 4G, Wifi and GPS. It works perfect! Also it actually got rid of the grip of death issue as well.

If u want to save more just buy the normal sensation but if u more too music go for XE,its bundle with beats earpiece i have both & lovin it!

how about the screen ?? ,, is it as washed as they say in reviews? I'm asking cause i know when you using it daily it's not the same .. so how's it from your point of view?
I have the XE and the screen looks great, although there is some text ghosting when scrolling through settings menu etc. Nothing that concerns me though.

There are 2 type of screen. If you got the AUO acer, then you got the vivid, pinkiest color, gosting issue and no wash a way screen. But if you got Sharp screen, you got screen with no vivid or pinkiest and gosting issue, but you got wash a way screen. Search thread about the two type screen on general section and you will understand it.

It has been confirmed that the Sensation has two different LCD panels. One made by Acer (AUO) and one made by sharp. The sensation does not have a good screen bad screen issue. Some people prefer the acer screen and others prefer the sharp. I have had both and they both are really beautiful displays. You can only really tell the difference if they are side by side.
To find out which panel you have:
Use terminal emulator (free from the market) and run the command dmesg (root is not needed obviously)
it will output a bunch of stuff.. look for this line and report it: (if you can't find it you can long press on the output in terminal emulator copy all and then paste it into an email and send it to yourself)
just look for the line (the numbers might not be the same) [ 9178.895111] Panel Type = PANEL_ID_PYD_??????
Mine is sharp so my line is Panel Type = PANEL_ID_PYD_SHARP
If you have searched and can't find reboot and try again.

Acer, ghosting and slight screen flicker. In the middle of dealing with htc UK over the issue. Telling me to try a factory reset.... Jesus! My friend has a sharp screen on his and it looks perfect to me.

Most Europe and US Edition are AUO
Most Asia Edition are Sharp
Kazi639, No ghosting? Try settings > wireless networks and scroll up and down. Mines looks horrible when I do this. It's only really noticeable on black background.

AUO isn't bad. Neither display is perfect they both have their pros and cons.
Mine is Sharp,white Sensation XE bought in Europe
I had both, and I like both. Suo has brighter colors and the actual display is more bright as well.
Sharp, is more sharp but it's brightness is much lower.
So both have Pros and Cons like Sdobron said.

OK, because I've only had the phone 28 days t-mobile are sending me a replacement. Just need to cross my fingers that it has a sharp screen. If t-mobile didn't change it htc UK were willing to look at it and change the screen if "the engineer agrees the screen is faulty".
My friend has the xe with a sharp screen, I will make a video with them side by side to highlight the difference and post a link here.

i confirm that
mine has AUO display and it hasn't dust under glass these 2 years i own the device
I've a sensation with sharp and I had a white pixel for 6 months than disappear and I can see well every pixel.

I can sadly confirm it, mine is an XE with Sharp panel, after 5 months the dust comes, now its nearly 1 year old and there is the dust again, noticed two days ago.

I've got the white one but the problem with it is that you can easily see the dirt and if your hands have anything on them, even small marks of pen, they get put onto the white parts
