Best MSN messenger app...

Anybody got some input on this? I am currently using Hi MSN and it keeps showing me offline to my contacts but it works fine on my end. I have tried MSN droid, ebuddy with no success. They all have some weird issue. So wondering what others are using.

i just use IM.apk. i think it's from the g1, modded to work on other carriers and/or phones. it's not amazing, but it's free and works decently with aim and msn for me (also does yahoo). i got it from xda, can't find the apk on here right now, but here's the one i have http :// goo . gl / Jcuz (can't post links)

I'm using "Messenger" from the Market.. it's like a full rip of Windows Live Messenger. The UI is rather clunky and clumsy, but the functionality is all there. Do get random drop outs though.

Sometimes it's an error on Microsoft's server side that's causing you to appear offline to others. I even have this problem come up on my computer's Windows Live Messenger.
Usually you just wait a day and log in again and your problem is gone.
As for IM app, I'm using Ebuddy. No problems so far.

I'm not using it anymore sorry. And I tried looking for the apk myself and couldn't find it in my phone. Looks like they took it off market cos it probably infringed copyrights (a lot of the graphics of the app were ripped straight from the Windows Live Messenger app on pc)
EDIT: in saying so, I'm back to eBuddy. Also, give MSN Talk a try.

I use Nimbuzz. Works fine for my MSN and Facebook chat

I highly suggest you try out Meebo, if you create an account it runs many clients at the same time (like, Messenger, AIM, Facebook, etc.) and it keeps chat logs.

Msn droid works great for me...

Sorry to steal thread a bit, what about from Android to Android? I want to sync my Transformer to my Fascinate.

You can sync calendars on both devices via google calendar. Beats iPhone sync as it is done via Wi Fi not iTunes. As for music, there are apps that say the sort of sync, but I have not been able to get any to work correctly.

I used to have a jailbroken iphone. I had an app called iFile that would let you manage files on the device itself or turn it into a web based file server. If you have your transformer and the iphone on the same wifi network, you can activate the file server on the phone then just open the phone's ip in the browser on the transformer, and upload files through the browser.

[Q] Social hub

Does anyone use the social hub on their note? I've been persevering as I like the concept, but I'm finding it a bit limited in functionality. e.g. no option to select multiple items.
Also it always opens on the feeds page, which I hardly ever use.
Is anyone else using it?

Yep I use it and love it. Have 5 email accounts, facebook, twitter and linkedin all in one place. Superb app

I try to use it ! I think it's difficult to use in with de note. I also want to have e-mail first and not the fields page...

the scrolling on it is really slow. Anyone else get that?

no more using it...and set it to not boot at startup. laggy for me too

I'd like to give this a test drive, anyone able to post up the latest social hub apk?
Seems it's not in the market now, and I'd frozen it when it first launched as I don't use facebook and other (anti)social stuff, but it might be worthwhile now I'm sync'ing work email so that I can use one app to handle work and personal email. I like how the default mail app does pinch-zoom which gmail lacks, so if social hub will do that and handle gmail the same way I'd be happy. After freezing it and then updating firmware the apk's seem to have gone so cannot re-install

Social Hub will use the stock email app for emails, so you can pretty set up your account there.
I'm not using it anymore since it consumes a lot of memory. Also, occasionally the account for Windows Live would suddenly stop working with no way to retrieve mails. Furthermore the extra things that it can do for emails can be configured in the stock email without it. Example, to use Hotmail, configure the server to m.hotmail.com as Exchange account. For Yahoo, configure it as imap. You get push service for both.
For social apps, since I'm using Facebook official app, I don't see why I need to set it up using Social Hub. Well the thing I hate the most is that I can't choose the default tab when I start it up.

thanks for the info, I was hoping to just have one app in the quick launch area for exchange/gmail/IM but maybe sticking with stock apps is a better bet then. Might look at moving the gmail accounts into this and dropping the gmail app instead.

I've been using social hub anytime now, it works fine. putting all accounts in one, easy to access emails and messaging the only thing is that, it eats more memory (allocating more memory to social hub0 with out actively using it.

Syncing android device with mac computers?

Hi guys,
So here goes, currently using 4S, and will very much like to get the white SGN.
I am using a mac computer, i was googling for any 3rd party programs to sync stuffs like iPhoto, iTunes, and Address Book.
I do understand there are alternative like gmail contacts, but since i am using mac computer if everything can be synced seamlessly using any 3rd party programs will be a plus!
Comment if you have something to share, any fellow mac users!

Google takes care of the contact/calendar/Gmail sync.
As far as syncing music and files, you could try keis air (Samsung product)... Sgn = Samsung galaxy nexus right ?
Keis works on my macbook via wifi like airplay .

[Q] good notes app

I'm looking for a good notes app (possibly like Google Keep, looks and functionatlity wise), that has more focus on privacy. The best would be an app that stores the notes in an encrypted form, and offers sync, so you can edit notes on the PC as well.
I've found "SealNote" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.twistedplane.sealnote which looks interesting, but I don't think it offers sync capabilities. Is there a note app with encryption AND sync option?

Use Color note its perfect.. But there is no encryption only lock....

It doesn't seem to be possible to edit notes on the PC though, or is there? Also, can you only sign up using your Facebook or Google account?

I only sign in using Google..
When u need to copy text to pc..than u can copy from colo note to any text file in phone then transfer it to pc...

Not what I'm looking for. If anyone knows a notes app that supports sync and editing on the PC, like you can do on Google Keep, but with privacy, please let me know.
