[Q] HTC Sensation - Root etc

I wanted to ask my question in the very helpful post by xl VipeR lx:

But since I am new it would not let me and I received the following:

I searched around and was not able to find the answer. It may be a silly questions but it's a simple one so hopefully someone can assist.
I have a HTC Sensation and want to root it and put CM7 on. Do I need to unlock the bootloader with instructions from www.htcdev.com/bootloader/unlock-instructions before following VipeR's posting on rooting?

My main reason for asking is I don't want HTC to necessarily know that I unlocked it. Some of the other forum posts have folks who killed their phone. Users recommend putting it back to stock so that HTC warranty will cover repairs.
If I use HTCDev then they would know that I unlocked it (warning mentioned when you register with them).
Any way around that?

[Q] rooting htc amaze

I was wondering if there is a way to root the htc amaze and keep the stock rom. I have rooted 3 phones before (mytouch, mytouch 3.5mm, and htc hd2) I ran cyanogenmod mostly in all three and loved it. I broke down and bought the new Amaze and love it, but really miss root access. I have searched the forums and didn't really come up with a solid answer. Any advice or links to a tutorial for this would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys I have bought the m8 eye of htc the stock rom is pretty amazing but I want to flash custom roms like cyangonmod The question is : is there any good custom roms for the m8 eye ?! Please make a forum for the m8 eye.

Hello,
I believe m8 eye shares the same forum as HTC One M8. You may visit HTC One M8 development forum and find an appropriate rom for yourself.
Also you may request a forum for your device here New Device forum request thread

Xda must have the m8 eye fourm . M8 roms won't work on the M8 eye. Please The m8 eye is a flagship like m8. Just do the fourm and the devs will do the rest
