[Q] How do I get rid of the VoiceMail notification tone? - Verizon Droid Charge

If I have a new un-listened to voice mail, I get this very loud digital ring tone that plays, right after powering on the phone, non-stop until I pull down the notification bar.
I'm running the latest Infinity ROM but I've had this on other ROMs too. I don't think it happened on stock.
I searched with Root Explorer and could not find any audio file relating to this sound.
How do I get rid of this?

[Q] samsung transform use mp3 as text message notification

The subject basically says it. I can't find a tutorial for my specific phone the Sprint Samsung Transform. I have downloaded my songs, trimmed them down, created the ringtones folder on the root of my sd card, and dropped the mp3s in there. went back to phone settings sounds and notifications. changed my phones ringtone, that worked. now i want to change the sound the plays when i receive a new text, but i cannot find the option to do that on the phone. am i missing something or is there a hack or anything that will enable this?
i found a sort of fix for this. change your notification ringtone to whatever you want your text message ringtone to be. the only problem is it makes that same sound for every notification. most noticeably when you plug your phone ino the charger. thats the best ive figured out tho.

[Q] newbie here, help with crunchysoft 2.1.7.

hello everyone, I am new here and doesnt know a lot about root/rom stuff.
so i got someone to do a full root on my sprint htc hero, decided to change rom to crunchysoft 2.1.6. then later updated to 2.1.7.
I am having problems with ringtones, I seem to not have any other options for my default ringtones.
when i go to settings - sound n display - phone ringtone = my options are just "silent" but it actually makes a ringing sound.
how can i get other ringtones? also, when i get a text msg, its just vibrates. i already when to the setting on the sms and tried to change the notification sound but it too only has "silent" as an option.
any help is appreciated. thanks
lbrwrx, I am having the same problem. I just flashed the csrom last night and couldn't get my notification sound to work. Also, phone ringer just has one ringer option. I love this rom, but I need sound for my text messages. Anyone?
Rookie here too trying to learn more. Have you tried htcevohacks.com? they do other phones too.
I still couldnt find anything. I am also experiencing a lot of forced re-boot with this rom. Im gonna try to look for another rom or go back to stock.

Txt message Notification breaks sound!!

Has anyone else experienced this? when I have my phone hooked up to my car stereo aux jack to listen to music.. I get a text and then no sound, until I receive another text!! its like to txt notification is muting the music and then not un-mutting after the notification is complete. this was happening on stock un-rooted phone and on all other roms too!!! its the reason why i rooted it.. and im still stuck with this problem, I have to send texts to myself to get the sound working again.
oh and how in the heck do you keep it from announcing the person that is messaging you? it is quite annoying, i just want a simple notification.. not a name or a number being called out for every one to hear.
well I take it im the only one with this problem???!!
cant say...i play music all the time in my car and once notif is done the music comes back on. are you using stock music player, stock sms and stock notifier?
i changed to handcent to see if that would help and yes I have changed player and neither of those help.. how do you keep it from reading peoples name outloud when a text comes in without putting the phone on silent?
It's never happened to my on stock or on a rom.

To answer your question, I have the same problem too. Never tried sending myself a text to get it working. I just boot into recovery and then clear cache and reboot.
As for the phone telling you who's texting you here's your fix to that.
1. Go to Settings
2. Go into Voice input and output
3. Go into text-to-speech settings
4. Check to see if Driving mode is checked.
If it is this is what makes your phone talk to you.
5. Go into Driving mode settings
6. Now uncheck what you don't want your phone to say out loud.

[Q] HTC Notification Sound Issue

Hey All,
I have had an issue with my HTC ONE ever since I completed the 4.2.2 update. My notification sounds do not work for SMS, Email, 3rd party apps such as Whatsapp or Facebook. My ringtones work, alarm, music but when i go into notification sounds i can click on any sound and nothing works. Once selected when i receive a message no tone is played. My phone vibrates and you get the notification indicator but that is it.
Does anyone know about this issue or have had this issue? If so how did you fix it.
Thanks,
Derrick

Random notification sound

I have a rooted S7 on Verizon with PG5 baseband and build number. All of a sudden starting the past day or 2, I have been getting random notification sounds with no notifications to account for it. I installed a notification logger to see if I could figure out where it is coming from, but there are no notifications logged at the times it is happening. I have turned down the volume for notifications, but this random sound is still as loud as before and it is not the sound that is set for notifications, anyway. I did not install anything new before this problem started and I am at my wit's end trying to figure out the source of the sound. Does anyone have any ideas?
