On the Xoom on the ICS rom (full wingray I think it's named), it appears that there is no edit for polaris office. Opening a document through Polaris Office seems to open in read-only mode. I've looked around and seems as though no one else has said anything about it so maybe i'm missing it somewhere, or maybe its just broken for ICS.
On a side-note, I looked through the help files for polaris and it claims there is a button needed to open edit mode on a file and that button is not on the screen under ICS.
any thoughts? Am I doing something wrong or just blind?
thanks
I am also looking for this. Anyone know?
really derp 500 views and no answers?
The free version is read only. If you want to edit u have to buy it.

Lo all, great phone this, I really like it.
One thing that bothers me though:
When using a listing like the WMphonebook, when I scroll down and select an entry and accidentally press the one next to it and then press "return" I'm at the top of the PB-list again. Meh.
Anyone know a tweak or program to make it remember the last position in a long listing? Both Phonebook and filelistings would be useful f ex.
Also has anyone got a way to Cut/paste w/out an extra program or do i need a separate program for that? Try f ex copying a phonenumber from Contacts list and try pasting it into another application.
Cheers beforehand,
Paul

i do this by switching to WinMobile standard keybord and Ctrl+X, C, V
Cheers, how can I switch to the standard windows keyboard? Only got the numbers and the Qwerty ones?
After looking alot around the net I found Fingerkeyboard which gives a nice layout keyboard and Cut/paste-functionality wherever there is a SIP.
Can recommend it.

Somehow I can't seem to find the Question mark on iot though.
Still It can be fixed.
Anyone found a solution to returning to the same spot in listings?
Bump anyone?
I downloaded a map of my school (going back tomorrow) in PDF form and tried to open it and quick office came up. I can't edit anything, probably due to it being a PDF, but I'm going to test a doc file and see what happens. BRB
Update: Seems to work with docs and other office files but you can't edit
I don't ever recall downloading this. I'm rooted with Cyanogen's addon that's all.
/system/app/PassionQuickOffice.apk
Its always been there I presume.

I tried, but the world was not ready for my message.
why doesn't it have an icon? I haven't had the need to use it, I'm guessing it is a read only type of app?
Mine opened a Powerpoint (.ppt) file with Quickoffice too and my device is completely stock at the moment. I don't see quickoffice in the list of apps, though.
I just installed Quickoffice from the Market then I got it on the list of apps. Since it's the free version, it has very limited functionalities.
Numerous problems on Galaxy Tablet with XDA Premium app. One nuisance is that often when "on the last page" of a thread (as in the attached image), the application is confused about whether it's on the first page or last. The right Back (left) arrow will take you to the next-to-last, and then the Forward (right) arrow will again present the *FIRST* page. Only way around this I have seen, is to exit the app, Settings, Manage Applications, yada yada ... Force close. Then it's OK again.
There is no "Thanks" ability
Force closes about once per day (I am a heavy user)
Cannot see signatures
Does not present the same look (fonts, emoticons, etc.) as the web site
Cannot find a way to return to the last seen page of a thread
Pages button will often (usually?) show only about half of the available pages for a long thread (say, 100+ pages)
No ability to access a post/thread if the Post/Thread number information are known (from the URL) (this would be the opposite of the "Browser <here>" function)
Is someone working on these things? Where is the appropriate place to post such feedback?
So what about the mouse?

What the **** are you saying now?!
I am having no problems at all with the xda app and im on it alot as well, all i can suggest is that you clear data on it, uninstall, reboot, re-install it, and hope for the best.

Im not saying there arent problems, but i haven't encountered any the OP has mentioned, the only grief i have is that, when you back out to home screen, then back into XDA you need to hit back again otherwise youll be waiting forever for it to reload the page you are on.

Anyways..
im developing an app for my buisness.. with zero knowledge to begin with about android dev or java..
after about 4-5 days of trial and error.. i have an app with a background, logo 3 buttons (2 of them work but the 3rd is giving me serious headache..
i have button 1 mapped as a website address which basically is my location via google maps.. (browser or android google maps.apk)
Button 2 is supposed to open the default android sms.apk but i cant for the life of me figure out why it wont click..
i have button 3 as email me button which basically opens default email app for android with some pre-defined info filled in..
Im wondering if any of you developers out there can assis me with getting all 3 buttons to work..
my initial thought was to use the secod button as a intent to open the default sms app with predefined info (phone number)
couldnt get it to work.. code said no errors but loading onto my gs2 and xperia ray it does nothing..
then i found out you can make a seperate .xml page with seperate .java view and somehow link button 2 to open that page with my own text screen to send directly from..
that didnt work either..
if any of you can help i will either paste my code here or attatch it as .zip if i can..
Thanks in advance.. oh.. and please... i know im a noob thats why im asking for help so no smart ass comments please lol my brains already malfunctioning
just to give examples of what ive tried.. here are the links ive tried and failed at lol i can get the default app on the pages working fine but cant implement the code into my app.

is it all about getting your 3 buttons to work?
That does not sound too hard ...it´s easier to help, if you paste your code..
Definitely easier with code
Paste your java file and also your layout xml file.
Until and unless you post code, its hard to tell where you have gone wrong. You may look for help in stackoverflow as well.
Should of replied sooner.. i managed to get my code working.
At the time of writing i had zero knowledge on android app development..
I have a good basic knowledge now though.
Thanks for the replies guys

Having a problem with the stock library app. It will open for a second and then force close. It DOES stay running in the app-switcher list but when i choose it, it closes out to the home screen. I have a lot of PDF files i read and its handier than a file manager for that. Anyone having the same problem or know of a good replacement app??? Thanks in advance.......RL

I'm also using that, it's great.
To diagnose a "force close", you need to post a logcat excerpt.
