Help! Wrong radio - General Questions and Answers

Alright, so I've had an htc sensation running on leedroid 3.10 for quite some time now. Recently it started to restart randomly, so I decided to upgrade my rom. So then I attempted to install insertcoin ICS, but I needed a new radio. So I chose one figuring it would work and now my device doesn't connect to internet or even my data. Whenever I try to install a different radio now to attampt fixing it, it says I have the wrong CID! I NEED my phone to work soon because i have a lot of important things to do that involve it!! Thanks for all help and please respond soon! FYI it says my radio is 10.11.9007.06_M2. Should I maybe reflash the hboot?
EDIT: And in case you're wondering, I've been searching for the solution for hours. I've never been more afraid of anything not working than this phone, and I can't afford a new phone, so please help!

BUMP! Please help I can't sleep because of this

Flash back to stock, do a little research and find the radio version that came with your phone. Flash it.
A lot of times, I've found, the problem with these new unofficial ports of ICS is that the radio doesn't work on them. So go back to stock radio and find a stable ROM to work with.

Thanks! My only problem is, how do I know which radio came stock? Do all sensations come stock with the same radio?

Which version of the sensation do you have? XL? XE?

Just the Sensation 4g, not the XE or XL

Here you go.

I believe you should download the 10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2 version.

Thank you, but the same problem persists. I'm not sure what could even be the cause of this problem though. My exact step are to boot by holding vol down and power (im not sure what its called), and then it automatically attempts to install it, but then I get that error message. Afterward I attempted to install it by going to recovery and opening it as a zip file, and that failed just the same.

also is there anyway to install the radio while installing the stock firmware? Why can't you back up the radio anyway? And hwile I'm at it, what does CID even have to do with radio that it would cause these problems? Will location matter? I'm in NJ US.

As far I know you can't dual flash the radio and OS. Also, I think you'll be ok in NJ with a stock radio. Just as fine as you were before all this.

Uk O2 1.50.206x

Can someone please point me in right direction to download
RUU for UK network O2, build 1.50.206x ?
Just got my sensation back from repair and have rooted again. Ive also backed up the orginal ROM on my phone but would really like the RUU to go with it should I wish to go S-ON incase of any future problems.
Thanks guys

Thanks for getting back to me bud.
Isn't there really?.... even tho I've backed up that particular version of my phone?
I got it back today and that was the build number.
Can I still restore the backup in that case and go S-ON normally?
If you backed it up before adding root then yes you will be able to restore it, flash the stock recovery and S-ON to go back to stock
The only o2 RUU to leak was the original one that was out when the Sensation was first released. Good to know o2 have updated to 1.50 though

Hey, yep, I got s-off then installed clockwork then backed it up right away. I didn't root, I just flashed your Stock rooted XE ROM and all is good. the 1.73.401.4
So let me get this right.
I fullwipe, restore backup then flash the stock 1.18.000 recovery it had and thats it? I guess I must extract recovery img from the a 1.50xx ruu?
Radio?
@ ajay
I am getting shabby signal on my sensation ( ~45%MAX) on o2 uk.
I have tried a few radios with no luck so im hoping you can tell me, when your sensation came back with the o2 uk stock rom on it, which radio version was loaded onto it?
Was it the version in your signature?
Cheers

Hello mate.
The radio in my signature is what I'm using now, although my phone returned to me with the radio from 1.45.xxx build.
Look in android development section for radios & you should see it. Hope this helps =)

ok thanks for that. I know about the radio thread and have tried 10.14, 10.15 & 11.16 and always have ****ty signal so just thought id see which radio o2 use for their roms.
How do you find the signal with the radio your using?
I never get full signal now in places where my desire would give me full signal.
Im starting to wonder if maybe the back cover with the antenna's in is a bit ****ty cos i get the wifi death grip quite severe.
Thanks again

You can get the HBOOT from any 1.45 RUU, but yes what you said pretty much sums it up. I would:
1. Restore backup
2. Flash stock recovery
3. Hard reset
4. Reset CID (if changed)
5. S-ON
6. Boot phone to make sure it works then hard reset again
Thanks EddyOS =)
Appreciate the advice bud.... Always handy to know how to cover your arse incase of the worst.
@beady_uk. Are you flashing the appropriate 'rils' to match the radios?
Can't really think of anything else bud. My radio & ril match & since I've done it this way I've always had good reception.

yeah mate ive matched radio's and ril's for 10.14 & 10.15 but i only get max of 45% reception when checking through the app "opensignal". Right now ive got no signal and on my desire i would normally have full.
Going to try a 2.3.4 rom as i have tried a few 2.3.5 roms with the same result.
hi guys,
my misses sensation is on O2 as well and after flashing ARHD 4.1.13 the reception went down noticeably. right, so ive donwoladed recomemnded radio from ARHD post ( 10.15.9035.02_2 ) I pressume i only have to pack the radio.img in a zip and run the bootmenu ?
do I have to be eng off ??
and finally battery life is barelly 14 h without using it can it be that radio or its becasue i let the phone to restore the apps after flasshing ??

3.33.401.6 WIFI problem

Hi all,
I installed this version through WIFI 3.33.401.6 and now my WIFI is not working. I am using static IP and I cannot use dynamic IP since it does not work with my router.
How can I go back to a previous version or is there any other solution.
Thanks.

which rom and kernel u r using? try bricked 1.36 . possibly it will solve ur wifi issue.
So kernel version is 3.0.16
Build number 3.33.401.6
Android version 4.0.3
The HTC support told me to do a hard reset but I am sure it will not sort out the issue.
And btw I do not know how to install new ROMs which is what is holding me to downgrade the version.
Thanks

If you never touched your device your NOT s off you ARE s on. Completely stock is s on. If your looking for the correct guide find out your boot version which is likely 1:27... To check this pull battery put battery back in press power and volume down at the same time this will give you your information and then choose your guide from your boot version . Hope this helps.

I'll be honest and say that I will find the easy way out and buy a repeater so that I bypass my router since then hopefully I would easily get a DHCP ip from the repeater rather than from the router since the router does not give an IP to the phone.
I would still solve the problem like this. I tried to contact HTC but they are really crap....
Thanks
Same problem here
Same problem here with HTC Sensation XL. The latest update has broken the wifi function with static IP enabled. The device can communicate with the router, but apparently cannot resolve the DNS. Consequently, no web pages open. With dynamic IP there is no problem, but for various reasons my home network has static IPs and I cannot change them to dynamic.
I tried a factory reset of the device, but, expectedly, to na avail. Just waisted my time to restore the programs and settings to what they were before the reset

Flashing custom kernel will NOT solve the issue because no custom kernel work properly with 3.33 base because htc bundled new kernel version but have not yet dropped the source for the updated kernel
I'm rooted, s-off with 1.27 and my WiFi won't even turn on now

Hi,
For all of you who are having problems, please see the thread below and make sure you have matching RIL to go with your FW...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
See this thread for RADIO/RIL as you can always flash different RADIO and RIL even with changed FW but read the guides and check the MD5 sums!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202867
Make sure you are UNLOCKED and S OFF to flash RADIO! RIL is flashed through recovery!
This worked for me:good:

For whatever reason your phone didnt flash the firmware.zip so extract firmware.zip from OTA zip and rename firmware.zip to PG58IMG.zip then put this file on the root of sd card and boot into bootloader, then follow onscreen instructions to flash the new firmware.
The ota includes a new kernel so the wifi and other modules are different and because your phone didnt flash the firmware you have a module/kernel version mismatch so no wifi

After I updated to the 3.33 TMOUS firmware, just as this thread was brought up, I no longer have a steady wifi connection and it keeps freezing. I downgraded my firmware version back to 3.32 TMOUS, matched the 11.69 radio with the proper RIL and I'm STILL having the same problem with wifi. I've reverted back to several different "stable" roms that I keep and no matter what, wifi is broken. I've even tried several different kernels and it's still broken. I've tried the wifi fix app and it didn't help. What's going on here? Did upgrading to the 3.33 firmware permanently screw up the wifi on the phone because it's not working like it used to no matter what rom/kernel/firmware/radio/RIL combo I try anymore. WTF???
try lifting the golden pins on the top of the phone next to the camera, lift them very little and carefully cause they might break that help a lot of us on arhd when we had that problem also make sure they are clean since they might get dirty while taking out the cover many times for the battery reset

Lol, why does he need to be careful just because a new hboot version is bundled in the XE RUU? he wont loose S-OFF if thats what your thinking.
Also flashing RUU shouldnt give wifi problems, but if it does and you are S-OFF then you can simply download and run the 3.32.401.x RUU

The answer is yes, so do as Pheroh says
Try to either flashing through recovery or manually dd-ing the image files.
Don't take an OTA or run an RUU, as that will update your HBOOT.
You want to stay on 1.08.
-Jobo
I dont want the OTA update, anyway the phone is rooted and using custom rom so dont think ota will ever work.
where can I find the latest radio, zip files flashable thru recovery or fastboot?

I can only hope will improve something. I have a problem with data switching from G to 3G to H for few seconds when I first start every session, I dont know it has impact on actually speed;
most annoying is the Bluetooth dropout from time to time, even at (very) short distances, my earpiece has no problem cause i tested with my other phones.
Anyway, if things goes wrong I still can go back to 0.16 radio I had before ( I hope at least )
Yes, flashing radios is Rom independent. Just don't upgrade to hboot .13 or higher. Or, you will have issues flashing radios. Hope new radio helps.

for the moment I use trickdroid 6.0, probably I'll change in the future if support and updates stop;
from what I know, changing rom's shouldn't change the hboot, only ruu upgrade will change it. true?
correct-
radios and hboots stay unless flashing a ruu
if/when we get s-off then hboot can be changed and we will be able to adjust partition table sizes for more data size
first day of testing, results are confusing
the data icon stays now mostly at 3G, think this is the real provider network; the differences in speed are not noticeable
for the bluetooth, the same thing, earpiece disconnect after few minutes even if with the phone in my hand; something is wrong here; I'll have to look for my older earpiece to try it. maybe plantronics 520 is not fully compatible with htc one s
should I try a custom kernel? any chance will help?
I had the Bluetooth disconnect issue . Haven't flashed a radio yet but flashing the Sensisimo Rom has seem to have fixed the Bluetooth disconnect. Fix could have something to do with the Rom being based off the latest update available (2.21 or something like that). I'm having data disconnect issues, does new radio fix it?
T-MobileUS HTC One S
I would try it, no harm done
looks like bloetooth disconnect is a small bug in trickdroid 6.0; tried another 2 earpieces and all are doing the same;
just flash trickdroid 7.1.0, I'll try it tomorrow and came back with feedback.

Thanks alot for that guide it helped. I installed extreme sensation and now it says i have no signal even with the cover on... any ideas?
Yes you can try to flash a new radio and ril and see if that fixes the issue. You can start with the generic ICS radios and rils. You will have to experiment with different ones to see which is best for your area. It's worth a try to see if by changing the radio and ril will restore signal. Best of luck. Hope this helps

Sensation WiFi and Bluetooth issue

Alright here's the issue...
Ok so my brother had my rooted HTC SENSATION S-ON with CM9, and he was longboarding and txting (bad combination...). As it results, obviously, he fell and desintegrated the screen, but the phone was fully functional before. Couple of months after the incident, before fixing it, i took it out of the drawer i had it put away and turned it on, and earlier that day i had found a very stable cm10.1 rom for it so i went ahead and installed it because wifi and bluetooth was functional on it. After i do so, i try to turn my wifi on in the innitial Google log on and on the screen it said "Turning WiFi on." and i waited about half an hour and nothing, so i skipped it. When i went into the settings app i tried turning bluetooth on and the switch went back to off instantly. And i went online and did research and saw a guy that just pulled the bluetooth and wifi connectors for the antenna up so they would actually work, and i tried it, but no luck... I also tried flashing the boot.img for the current rom, but also didnt work. So i thought it might have been the rom since it wasnt fully stable yet, so i did a full wipe and re-flashed the currnet rom and re-flashed the boot.img but no luck. So i downloaded a stable release of cm9 and did full wipe and installed the boot.img for that version of cm9, but yet again no luck... So i re-installed the cm10.1 Albinoman build and lived on 4G so far... i need help on re-enabling bluetooth and wifi....plz help im desperate
P.S. I think this might have to do with the incident of the screen, but i dont think its hardware related...anyways im going to have the screen replaced this monday, so wish me luck

No, a full wipe is not required for s-off.
You can go to "about phone" in the settings to find out about your radio version. It should be the baseband numbers/letters.
Also, which kernel do you have? Flashing another kernel might solve the problem.

hi, didn't see anywhere that you mention your android version, if it is 4.2.X, don't try to turn the WiFi on, rather go to advanced WiFi settings and select a region code in there, whatever you liked. but in case it is 4.1.X then Install WiFix Manager while WiFi is off, and reboot your phone.
good luck. :good:
