Use the Volume up key to take a picture instead of zooming on the skyrocket? I would rather pinch to zoom and use the physical button to snap the picture.

Hey everyone,
I'm curious, I've got my Touch Pro set up so the Enter button presses enter on a short press, starts TouchLight on a long press, and starts the Camera on a double press.
I'd like to be able to specify Double Press = Camera, Triple Press = Video Camera. Are there any command line options for the Camera App? I assume this must be possible since TF3D has separate buttons for it.
Thanks,
Ben
You need to create some Video shortcut for the camera exefile. That shortcut you can use with AEBPlus. But what's those parameters...?
Camera shutter, media button and volume keys (zoom) stopped working. Recently flashed chronos brianlee version. Camera app opens from app folder but cannot take a picture or video. All suggestions are welcome.
Thank you
Do they work in openrecovery (to rule out hardware failure)?
Thank you for replying.
Yes. They do work in Open recovery.
When I hold down the shutter key to take a picture, it just tries to focus, a green box comes on, but does not complete the action. Oddly, the same result when holding either media or volume up, volume down keys.

I'm wondering if it's possible to map the camera shutter to a physical button. I had this on my Nexus One and it was awesome.
In the mean time you could use smile detection if its for self shots haha..

What camera button?!
If you use the long button on the RHS of the phone, your wishes will be granted...
The volume rocker doesn't work, but the smile feature does.
We all know you can use the power button to take a picture in most custom roms, but with the s3 being such a large phone it's sometimes hard to hit the power button and tap to focus using just one hand. So how would one go about mapping the physical home button as the camera shutter button? Thanks for your input.
Anyone?
You can enable the onscreen buttons then remap the home key to start the camera and act as the shutter button when in the app. Also some camera apps allow you to select any pod the physical buttons as a shutter key.

Thanks for your reply but I'm looking for a way to map the physical home button as the camera shutter button. Using an on screen button would be the same as just hitting the camera shutter button on the camera app.
I'm in no way a developer but I feel like it would be as simple as changing the code in the camera apk to make the physical home button take a picture rather than the power button. Can anyone confirm this?
Bump
I knowfor HTC phone they make MOD for vol up for vol down to act as shutter button, I wonder if that would be able to be ported over number one, and if so if able to change the vol up/vol down to home button for shutter.

this method isn't the best though, it pretty much renders the volume button worthless IIRC even when not using camera app, i do remember i coded it into the camera app one time for HTC, maybe i can dig that up
In the camera mode I can't go directly to album. Used to be the left button next to shutter button
