What's your Skyrocket's DL speed? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

On speedtest.net I got a DL speed of 19.65 MBs and an UL of 5.58 MBs.
.

Its been done man...

I suddenly have the urge to start 4 more speed test threads, a few on the HD, maybe 3 on how to unbrick
Oh...did you hear that ATT changed their plan pricing? That alone deserves 6 more threads.. might as well ask some questions in general too.
I don't think I have seen so many duplicate+ threads in a device forum. I love our forum for its "laidbackness" but it is getting sloppy for sure

[Q] where is the Infuse forum?

If Ive missed it could someone please point me at it?
Ive searched and cant find a forum for the Samsung Infuse, Mods could you please create one.
Thank you.
yes please create one.. you guys create forums months ahead for phones that dont even have a release date yet!!! seriously can we get the forum up already... thanks!!
Yes!! Also wondering why this phone is getting no love.
I would also like to see an Infuse 4G Forum.
Still no answer..... Where's the forum!

I was wondering the same thing i plan on taking my atrix back on sunday for the infuse on the 28th day of my 30 day return policy lol.
Where is it? The phone comes out in 2 days and there is no forum yet?!
Yeah i'm still waiting for the infuse forums......
This is actually quite pathetic... they've posted the XDA-TV of them playing with the Infuse, yet haven't made a forum for it yet.... it literally comes out in 2 days.
I'd really like to see some CM7, or TW4.0 ported to it... and an official publication of the SuperOneClick root.
T minus one day...
What a joke!!! .. you guys create forums for phones months ahead with no release date but dont put up a forum for a phone with interest by community members that comes out TOMORROW!!! .. step it up or let someone else take over.. and yes we are starting to get a little agitated!!
The phone comes out bloody tomorrow... this is REALLY pathetic...
Will a mod be posting anytime soon?
I agree, where the **** is the forum for the Infuse 4G?!?!?!?!? It is coming out tomorrow and I expect it to be a bag of poop if it gets no community support
XDA must have some sort of vendetta against the Infuse.
Maybe its evil, either way this atrix is going back tomorrow and im picking up an infuse. But it'd be awesome if there was a forum for it!
Just adding my vote as one that would love to see a forum for the Infuse as well.
And the phone is currently out....
Still no forum. I was holding out a little hope that the forum would be put up on launch day but still nothing. Can we get a straight answer at least. Will xda no be supporting this phone? Is there a lack of dev support? I hate having to go to android community for forums.

Data speeds

I was getting 2-3 mbps on average at the beginning of the day and now after I installed a new radio and then went back to my same radio my speeds are 0.45 mbps and I tried changing my APNs and all that still nothing I don't know what to do. I had like 4 problems with my phone today alone
It takes time for a radio to settle in. This information is out there. I have seen others tell you to search on other posts you are making. You can find any answer in these forums. You don't have to make a new thread for every question. Just search and read, read, read.

There was an instance not too long ago of a user who started posting panic posts for everything, and it didn't go over well. It was pretty much viewed as spamming.
I haven't seen him since.
Just be prudent when considering a new thread.

[Q] daily drivers ???

i have heard people drop the phrase "daily driver" or list daily drivers in thier signature lines. as i refer to the super thread, i notice some people are listing kernals and some are listing roms as thier daily driver in thier sinature lines.
If i understand the term, is the daily driver not basically the workhorse or your phone?
I AM pretty noobie-ish, not to mention a dullard. been reading posts for m
months and just now figured why i couldnt post or reply to threads.
Is there an advantage to flashing something specific as a "daily driver"?
I believe, and I am a noob also..... that most people are stating that a given rom being a daily driver is bug free, and has all the functions working that they depend on. Thus good enough to use daily vs just test.
And just because it functions as, for example I need, doesn't mean it will for you.
Example, if you feel you really NEED HDMI, some roms defined as daily drivers might not be for you.
Daily driver is just the name of a fashable mod for the infuse
There isn't daily updates for it its just a name
You can find out more about it here

yup..just like bigjoe said, it's what you would use everyday...hence the dd.
Entropy's DD kernel is what he ran on his phone when he had the infuse.
It may be shocking for you to find out that some users flash several roms a day out of boredom...bigjoe may be one such person.
You are not able to respond in some thread because you need @ least 10 posts before you can post in the development area.
You can reply in Q/A or general though...there is no restrictions there.
Yeah, I knew I couldn't post in development, but for months I wasn't able to figure out why I couldn't post anywhere. I figured out I was never sent the link to activate my participation. For months I have been reading and was able to get rooted and flash Rome, in actuality, thanks to your posts. Had not been even able to post the many thanx to people like you, dman and the rest of the collective who sacrifice so much of their time and effort to people like me and development. Thanx to all and I hope to now get more involved.

Flat out fastest rom out there?

I know this is kind of vague and broad, but I wanted to get your opinions on what the fastest roms are that are out there for the Verizon version of the Galaxy SIII.
I just got mine in the mail today and will be ready to root and get goin in a couple hours after the battery charges. I am coming from the Thunderbolt, may it rest in peace, and MY GOD the lag drove me crazy, so I want the quickest LEAST laggy rom for the SIII !
You've been here since 2011, you should know the difference between Q&A and Development.
this isn't development, shouldn't go here
as far as your question goes, i feel aerovans 4.2.1 is plenty fast enough....others you can tweak and screw with all you want if you have a kernel that supports OC'ing your device......only way to tell what is the fastest in your opinion is to flash each one and test it out...simple as that
edit: damnit was ninja'd of my chance to say that for the first time lol

Yeah and everytime I post something I think should go in Development everyone says it goes here so CLEARLY I can't win.
Definitely Executioner/Cleanrom either one you can't go wrong

Uh oh.. a wrong section violation. OP, hope you have a good lawyer..that's a crime punishable by death around here.
To answer the question though, people's mileage varies with ROMs. Its all in what you load with them(apps, etc.). The fastest are the AOSP ones, if you don't mind losing the bells and whistles, and putting up with the inherent bugs. Other than that, the more stripped the Touchwiz rom is, the faster it generally should be. Look around, see what one has the minimum of what you want, and give it a shot. Unlock your bootloader. Try an overclock kernel. See how it goes
lol, unless its a thread about a ROM you created, it shouldn't go in development or original development threads
if its a specific question relating to a certain ROM, ask it in that ROMs forum but beware to be flamed for not using the search function
if its a question about a theme or app and theres not a thread started in the themes & apps forum, then a question could possibly be asked in there if its relating to that only
all other questions and inquiries should be posted in the Q&A forum.......at least thats the logic i use when posting on the forums lol
It should be in q and a

This rom has been CRAZY fast on my s3. I tried Paranoid Android and Synergy too. The battery life is also insane, I got 26 hours yesterday (few hours on airplane for overnight).
While everyone is fluffing up their post counts by restating the SAME obvious information over and over for community brownie points, just thought I'd duck in and mention that the sky is generally blue, unless there are clouds in which case it may appear a color between white and dark grey.
In all seriousness though a mod will see that the thread is in the wrong section and move it accordingly. That is their job.Why 267754 people have to let that person know it's in the wrong section is beyond me.

Who cares where this question is posted. Honestly its better its posted here cause the dev threads are where everyone roams I never check q&a. So of it wasn't posted here the question would probably never be answered, so ask away op. My choice of ROM however is pures rls 10 plus has a nice theme included in the aroma installer.
Plus I thought this was a community of helping not making people feel like an idiot.

Look the problem is if questions are posted in development then it will start to be hard keeping up with development because it will be cluttered by questions. That is why there are seperate sections.
As for them not being answered... Have you looked lately? There are many senior members who spend there time just cruising there to answer questions. Droid style, con, sdy(can't remember the rest now) to name a few. I personally spend most my time in q and a helping out with the little knowledge I have.
To the OP it depends what you mean by fast. If you mean benchmarks then stick with with tw, I prefer beans with lean kernel WAY overclocked. If real world I say AOSP based, they're light and lag free. My personnel favorite is Eclipse

What are you talking about? Did you read what I wrote I even answered the OP question. I simply pointed out the reason it does matter what forum. As a matter of fact I never even mentioned this was in the wrong spot.

I've always had really good luck with AOSP ROMS in the past on other devices as far as speed goes. Since getting my gs3 I've only tried a couple of TWIZ Roms so far and I'm really pleased with MLJBM with Lean Kernel. Its super fast and buttery smooth and battery is decent as well. With that said I've noticed in the past with previous devices that some Roms respond better on one device and not so much on another. Youre probably best off taking the advice that was mentioned earlier and try a few different ones out for yourself til you find what youre looking for

[Q] Why this site demands toooo much ????

I m an android divice user more than 2 years.... I have found this site while i was searching in google for rom over a year ago.
I didnt need to register to download roms. But yesterday I felt like, its will be better to be a member here.
Though I m a noob here, But I don't think I m that much stupido...
While regestering...... I was surprised to see..... Why this site demands toooo much to regester????
I guess too many noobs post to the wrong forum threads... I'm also a noob here. All I want to post is a bug in a ROM but those threads are only open to me after 10 posts.... This is number 4
Well..... I also wanted to comment in a thread. that is locked for me too. now just counting down from 10 to 1.
Hmm.....MHO is I never thought this site was too "demanding" just by making newbs watch a video on newbs......they want to try to keep some riffraff off the site......what's wrong with that?
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire using xda app-developers app
Nothing wrong bro.... Never mind. I m a newby here, But I have some experience of working in other forum.... Unlike XDA, I never find huge amount of retraction.
Just some rules and guidelines to follow. Nothing to major. The video shows you how to find what you need so the same question is not asked a million times. It gets annoying as you may know from other forums when the answer to the question is 5 to 10 posts right before there's. We were all noobs at one point and in my opinion will always be noobs as everything changes so quickly.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Yeah... Obviously I respect the rules. But its too much annoying to put captua every time when I want to reply.
It's only ten posts.
Even if your dad taught you to repair cars since you were five and you learned how to drive when you were nine, they're still going to want you to pass a test to get a license.
Even though many professionals have gone to school for years and have degrees, they still have to take licensure exams.
Ten posts is not all that insulting or a big deal. I understand legitimate concerns, such as when disability makes this hard - but for a person lucky enough to be able to enter ten CAPTCHAs without having to get help, I don't think it's a big deal.

Its because there are many noobs who spam the forums/
Anyone who has spent time on a windows forum or the Ubuntu forums knows that moderating can be a full time job when people don't use the forum correctly. It makes the forum harder to use for regular users when there is a ton of spam. I work on phones and computers for a living, have been a dev for custom windows installations in the past. I want to learn this now. I appreciate the noob rule even though its a pain in my butt right now.
