Themes for Inspire?

Hello,
First post in inspire section... I have a inspire 4G in my possession that I am rooting etc for a friend. I flashed Kingdom 1.0 w. Sense 3.0 to the phone and its awesome but still a little to stock for my liking. Just wanna change up the look a little. Anyhow my question is... In this section: Inspire 4G Themes and Apps I'm not seeing any themes to flash to the phone but I do see people referencing flashing Desire HD themes to this phone... In general is it okay to do? Will most Desire HD themes work on the Inspire 4G?
Any feedback would be very much appreciated.

I'm not sure about the Desire HD themes...but if you like the Sense look...here's some Custom Sense Skins and looks.

good news and bad news....the good is that the DHD themes will work fine on the Inspire, as will the ROMs with audio fix. The bad is that Kingdom ROMs don't play nice with most sense 2.1 themes and mods....actually all that I have tried resulted negative with Kingdom. For this reason I've been sticking with Sense 2.1 + 3.0 based ROMs, I haven't had any issues with themes and mods.

You can only use themes designed for the kingdom then, just go to the discussion thread it has the list of mods/themes there.
I want more skins though!
Like the default slate theme from sense 2+

If you're looking for eye candy, download and flash CoreDroid v6.6...it's a beautiful looking ROM with great eye candy and animations. It's fast and stable, with a TON of add-on options. You'll def find it much better looking than typical custom ROMS, and anything but stock looking. (I mean no disrespect to the other developers).

[Q] Inspire 4G/Desire HD kernel compatibilty

I just came from the HD2 so I'm still kinda new to the Inspire. With the HD2, each kernel was built from scratch specifically for the HD2 so there was never any question that a kernel from a different ROM would work. I know the Inspire and DHD are basically the same phone specification wise except for different audio drivers for the inspire, so my question is: Can I take any AOSP kernel for the DHD to flash directly to my Inspire running MIUI?

Just try and see... Be sure to backup first.
I've had issues with some kernels not working quite right. The latest lordmod kernel i could not get to act right with Gingerbeast on my phone.
It's a trial by error. Some ROM's too.

Yes Nick is absolutely right. play around and see. every rom I have ever used from the dhd section has worked fine for me some just require you to flash an audio fix thats all. but yes for the most part all the dhd stuff is compatible. Just remember dont use an aosp kernel on a sense rom and vice versa

Cool, thanks guys. And I already made that mistake with the kernels. I tried flashing Leedroid kernel to the MIUI ROM. Everything booted up fine, but wifi gave an error when I tried to enable it. I think ill stick with lordmod anyway, since it seems to be the best all around. Thanks for the help.

you need to keep Sense kernels and AOSP/CM/MIUI kernels separated.

Help with roms

After my G2 breaking then having to go back to a G1, I'm finally getting a sensation tommorow so could anyone that's tried more than 1 rom tell me which roms are the best?

For me is the revolution hd ics the best rom for so far. It hass still bugs but it's for daily use verry good.
But the best way is to find out wich rom is the best is just to try oit..

I like Insertcoin, very good battery life and if there is any bugs I haven't seen them.

I would say, Revolution )
But use the non dr dre beats Rom and on 1.2Ghz.. the other one has more bugs.

These have been the smoothest and most enjoyable ROM's in my experience. They all have a large userbase too so any issue is helped quickly.

Yeah I liked virtuous' rom on the G2, theyre very helpful especially rmk..
Anyway the guy I'm gonna buy it from already has it rooted so I guess we'll see what rom he has on it.. am I better off unrooting then re rooting? Cause on G1 I can root,unroot, then root in like 15 mins haha if its a pain in the ass on the sensation ill just leave it

New To Sensation Development So...

Hey guys I just picked myself up a Sensation 4G (Not new to Android Dev.) so I was thinking about creating,my own custom rom but wasn't sure what the Sensation guys like in their roms. I came from the Huawei u8150 were getting CM9 to run without a gpu was a move from the lord. So far I have tried Stock, Insert Coin, and Android Revolution roms all were great but I like a little cyanogenmod in my life. Would you guys like a new CM9 build crossed with a few tweaks of mean and fixes I find. Is so vote for it. Also reply with what you, look for in a rom.

What I'd really love to see is a cm9 rom whit theme chooser working but idk yiu can't really do much to make a cm9/aosp rom to look different then other roms unless different themes...

I will start the rom today and if all goes well, I can have an early release out by Saturday. At first it will probably be stock cm9 with a few tweaks but then I will see what I can do about theming.

A CM9 ROM will be awesome. Are you going to try to get it working by yourself? You could get together with the open sensation project guys and make more progress that way. Just a thought

Welcome to the Sensation boards, and thanks for asking for input. I'm not a sense hater by any means, but I ALWAYS go back to AOSP roms. CM9 and Open Sensation are compiled nicely, but for some reason make my phone heat.
So, any build compiled from source would be welcomed. Each phone is different, hopefully your build keeps mah phone cool.

AOSP ROM with a Sense Camera would be loved by many, I am sure.

Yea I thought about speaking to them about it but I figured since I am newer to the phone I could try to mess with it a little myself before I go messing with other peoples work.

There seems to be a good number of sense roms and cm9 roms out there... why not try something kinda out there?
like a port of an xperia rom (I think Xperia S has the same chipset) or samsung's? (I know there's an xperia-ish rom out there but i think it's just aokp with xperia mods and I think that Sony's UIX is pretty good and not bloaty).
just thinking out there... porting something like that might be too much.

i have already begun working on rom but i'll keep it in mind. thanks for the idea

He already released his rom? where is it as I cannot find it in the development section

I haven't had the time to make a thread for it I'm sorry. I've been taking finals and will be through next week. Though I will not stop working on roms. For now you can find the Rom in Rom manager. I try to post here when I get home

[Q] Best HTC Inspire 4G ICS ROM?

I have tested a few ICS ROM's on an HTC Inspire and can't seem to find one that works for me. Can a few of you tell me your favorite Android 4.0 ROM's and what is NOT working on them. Also your opinion of the ROM would be nice as well.
