So, I did a quick search and didn't come up with anything I hadn't already seen and tried. If I missed it please send me in the right direction because this is driving me insane.
First is my SD card isn't coming up. It is only showing the internal SD card, not the external. I see the emmc area that I assume everyone is like, "Oh! There it is", but it doesn't show anything, it just says unavailable for total and available space. I've tried to fix from the alpha but everytime I try and edit the file it doesn't let me save it.
I'm also having issues with the BSR. Everytime I try and use it I get stuck at the M screen. I've installed the one provided for CM7, but no matter what I do I just get stuck at the M screen.
I've tried SPFing and just strating from scratch, I've tried to wipe data/cache in stock recovery... I've tried everything I can think of and anything I can find in the forum but nothing has helped... Maybe I'm just missing something though. So if anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it.
Nevermind, this ROM actually broke my will to live and I'm just going to SPF back to stock for now since I can't do anything other then stare at the M screen because I accidently hit Charge Mode in the BSR... And apparently that completely breaks everything in CM7... So if a mod could lock or delete this thread, I would appreciate it.

ok this has to be here because only a dev is gonna even have a clue about whats going on here. my phone is fine. but everysingle time, not matter how its implemented, if i use any type of home alternative, when i reboot my phone, it will boot to the android logo, then after that, just show a black litscreen. whats going on!???? it used to work perfectly! now home alternatives NEVER work properly. i tried using one of those themes, but it comes with advanced launcher built in(home alternative) so when i boot up my phone it gives me the blackscreen again. i have no idea what to do. ive tried wiping, re flashing, rom/recovery/everything i can think of. i attempted to push back the launcher.apk, but stupid ADB wouldnt work. keeps giving me a daemon error(a whole nother story). and i searched but couldnt figure out how to do it through the terminal emulator. but if that doesnt fix it, then what? everything used to work fine, im on 4.0.4. it worked before, i hadnt changed anything. my nandroid backups had start gettings currupted to i start trying to fix that. shortly after i fixed that, then this start. so now my nandroids work fine, but this crap is happening. what do i do? if cyanogen ever decides to put advanced launcher into his rom, im screwe out of any updates because ill just get another black lit screen HELP PLEASE

Backup your data. Wipe your phone, format your ext partition, then reinstall the ROM.
Hi all,
I have a Magic 32b and recently put the Modaco_custom_1_51 rom on, with the Amon Ra's recovery image (as recommended on unlockr)
It was working ok, not great, a bit slow and mms wouldnt work, so...
I decided to change the rom, unfortunately I was in a bit of a rush and I kind of forgot what I was doing...
I went straight to the Recovery mode and clicked 'part sd: fat32+ext2+swap'
Then I put the new rom on using usb storage mode, I clicked on applied update.zip and of course it wouldnt work (all without applying any recovery image when the phone was working and wiping first), I rebooted the phone and now after the vodafone image I just get a blank black screen...
I then woke up and realised what i'd done.
I have tried searching what to do when this happens but I couldnt find anything... I've never used abd or commands and dont really know how the commands work... I just flashed and applied the rom using the 'one click' method on unlockr.
I dont think its bricked... I can boot in Recovery and fastboot...
I would appreciate any help you can give, theres propably a simple way to do it (well simple for you guys) but I just cant work it out, if anyone can give me some instructions it would be really grateful.
Im new here so take it easy on me
I got no reply when I asked before so I'd really like someone to help
Regards
Gino
this happend to me
okay the process is to,
1. put something else on ur sdcard
2. Right click on ur computer Icon. once inside click on ur SdCard rout. which is or i can be j,k,l,m,p what ever yours is then
3. right click put saftly remove. once done that click on Storage off on ur Ra' Recovery
4. Then Click reboot, and press home button once ur screen goes black. u'll go back to ur recovery Images and u should have the things there, and if u dont then u know what that means ur SD card is fried.
Thanks for the reply...
This is what I done..
(Remember I cant get into the phone to do anything)
-Booted phone into recovery
-Wiped data
-Part sd card fat32+ext2+swap
-Took sd card out, put new rom on
-Put sd card back in
-Wiped again for safety
-Applied update.zip
-Rebooted phone and then...
Went past vodafone screen and stuck on Black screen again....
What am I doing wrong?
Someone must know
Thanks
What rom are you trying to flash? Have you tried any other roms? Are you sure it's actually flashing your new rom?
Thanks again for the reply... I think the problem was the rom. I tried the new Evil Hero rom -3s final... but it seems pretty slow for me.
Do I have to increase swappiness or anything... I dont know how to do that or even check it?
Thanks
Anyone have any idea why its so slow?

How big is your swap partition? Most hero roms seem to require a lot of swap (96Mb+) and that will need to be configured either in swapper (app from market) of by editing user.conf if the rom has one.
posted in the wrong area before......I think I have killed my phone. I used the unrevoked method to root my phone and thats as far as the customizing went. I tried to remove it and now my phone will show the first evo screen and then go to a triange/exclamation screen! I have tried to load the stock Rom, applying a update.zip, using the pc39img flash. and nothing works. Can someone throw me a bone and help me out. Also I tried to recover from a backup, didnt work. and if recovery is selected from the HBOOT menu, it goes to the red triangle screen with a E: cant open/cache/recovery message.
Sorry if this is info overload just trying to give info so i avoid going down the wrong path.
EVO
Anyone. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
It sounds like you need to reflash your recovery. I'm pretty sure I got that screen when I reinstalled the stock RUU when I had to bring my phone in to Sprint when I tried to access recovery. I'd confirm it with someone else though, I'm a relatively new rooter.
I dont know what to do? I am a total noob when it comes to this and I just want a regular unrooted working EVO. Anyone with any steps I could go through to fix it?
clear your sd card make sure nothing is on it. make sure the sd card is formatted fat 32. now put the PC36IMG file on the sd card. Put the sd card back in the phone. with the phone powered off hold down on the phone the power button and volume down. then you should see a white screen with 4-5 different options in green letters. Now tap the volume down and you will see a bar on the right side of the phone its looking at your sd card and unzipping the file. it volume up to activate the update when it says to. and then let it do its thing and hit volume up to reboot. then you should be at a stock. no root.
Tried it with no result. I think I might need a catholic priest
Like most of the users here, my phone has been buttery smooth and fast for awhile thanks to our amazing devs. Today, something unexpected happened. I was attempting to get a screenshot of the lockscreen. I think I was successful, but when I checked the gallery, everything had corrupted icons on them. Ok, I will just reboot. Reboot, and I hear Linda speaking to me. I didn't catch it, but I know it had something to do with the SD card. 5 minutes later, my phone boots up and my card is nowhere to be found. I figure the whole card somehow got corrupted.
Now I originally started typing this because it looked like my phone wasn't going to boot past the galaxy S 4g logo, but after about 5 minutes it did. Now with the phone booted, my phone can't see the card at all. The only thing that comes up is the option to mount, but that doesn't work at all anymore. The previous time I restarted it before it hung at the boot logo, it showed up in my computer and opened to nothing and ended up freezing the computer for a second until I shut it down.
I need to format this card obviously, but can't see how I am going to do that if it isn't recognized. On top of that, I might as well use this as an excuse to reflash a new rom, but I have even more problems. None of my button combos work to get into recovery or download at all. I then figured I would use terminal emulator to get into it, as that has worked before, but the app won't install due to an "invalid package file" or something like that. I appear to be stuck in a very weird soft brick, and need some help.
Might have made some progress. I removed the sd card and installed terminal emulator on the phone. Hopefully it is going to reboot into recovery, but it is stuck at the boot screen again. Ill see in a few minutes if it makes it there. From there I can start trying to restore/wipe/format/etc...
Was able to get into recovery. Did a factory reset and wiped everything. Looks like it is still going to take more than 5 minutes to get past that boot screen though. Has anyone ever had this problem? Could my card be done for good? Unless I can find a way for my computer to recognize it, I don't know how I will format it.
I have seen them do this and in the end the card needed to be replaced. I haven't been able to figure out if it was the phone or the card but the ones I have seen like this I ended up flashing the software again from the factory flashing tool and the new card worked normally. If you need the factory flashing tool I can upload it but not til Tuesday when I go back to work. Let me know.

If you have a card reader for your PC, download one of the Live distributions (Fedora, SuSE, Ubuntu, etc.) and, if you card is viable, you should be able to read the ext4 filesystem on it, get the files off, then format it to vfat.

I can still get the card to show up in my computer, but it will crash when I try and open it up. Ill see what formatting does in this state, but it guess I will just have to get a new card if I can't get this one working again.

I already lost the files, but I didn't have too much on there anyway. BUT, I did format it from My Computer, and it appears to be working fine now, luckily. I can see my few Android folders on there at least. Ill see how it works now.

Bummer you lost the files but glad you got it working. Best of luck.
Yeah man. I have seen this a few times. I try to backup my memory card at least once a week just incase. Sorry to hear about this bro.

Thanks for the replies guys. Luckily, I didn't have anything that important on my card other than a few pictures, so it didn't turn out too bad. Ill be upgrading to the galaxy note in a few weeks anyway, so I don't really mind.
This is my first thread that i ever needed to start on anything on phones so please understand that i'm REALLY DESPERATE i have looked in a ton of places for this fix and i tried to use clockworkmod and ended up doing that correctly but when i tried to restore it it say i dont have any backups nor recovery files and i tried putting cynagenmod on my sd card but it couldnt find the file and then i tried to use NFFLASH and make it stock android again but nothing happened and ended up stuck on the blue logo screen again. please i dont know what to do
Which version of Cyanogenmod is it? Put it on the root of your SD card. Is it already on the internal storage? I believe when you click "install from .zip" or something of the equivalent there's an option to select "choose from internal storage".
You can boot back into clockwork mod by turning the phone off, holding down the power and volume down buttons until the lg logo with the BLUE background appears, then release.
I was trying to install cynagen mod 7.01 from Rom manager but it froze in the logo screen and so i took out the battery and put it back on and it still continued to do that. After that i used CWM but i didnt have any ROMS to restore it and before it didnt correctly make my backup so i just want to restore it like the way it used to but i dont know where to put it in my sd card

Your sentence is incredibly long. Gave up after the desperate grab for attention. You may have wiped your backups by mistake. It happens. I did it not once, but twice. Give us more info so we can help. ROM, kernel, etc. A list of apps you run on a daily basis would be helpful.

Never use rom manager to install on this phone, you'll continue to run into this problem.
Can you access your phone storage when it's plugged into your computer? If you can, drop CM onto it at the root directory, put it back into your phone, boot into CWM and install the zip.
i think my rom was stock rom 2.3.4 before i tried flashing cynagenmod the apps arent very important to me and i only had this phone for a week because i got too excited about the dual core.
Follow the instructions HERE to the letter. You'll go back to stock and you'll have to root your phone again (if that's what you want to do) but it should get you up and running again.
In future, search, search, and search some more. I assure you, most problems people have had have been discussed and probably solved on these forums.

What is the name for this process of trying to restore my device from blue logo screen? If i know the name of the issue im trying to fix maybe i can start searching for the guides. I can't really access my internal or sd card when i plug in my usb and i don't really understand what the problem i ran into if its even fixable or not. The link you've sent me for the guide i'm trying right now but i can't just sit here and wait for an hour. Feedback is really appreciated

The whole process (if done correctly) should take but about 15 minutes give or take. What you'll be doing is Flashing Stock Recovery. Download the file provided in the link I gave, and then follow each instruction exactly as it says. Shouldn't be a need to Google any guides as this spell it out for you. Just have read and execute.
If you used NvFlash/One Click Recovery to flash Clockwork Mod to your device then you should already have the APX driver installed on your computer. In that case, half of the battle is already done.
But, if you installed your recovery using Rom Manager, then I would download the APX driver and go through the whole process in the guide I've linked from start to finish.
