Welcome, I am new here also. But I doubt you can run this on the Nexus one. I don't think it has enough under the hood to even run it. Also, you might want to go and search for your answer before asking it. People get really pis*ed off when people just ask questions without looking for an answer first. So please make an effort before just asking a question.

[Q] Ice Cream Sandwich Beta

If ICS is revolutionary and it's going to change a lot of how Android works on certain devices and it is indeed going to launch in October is it wrong of me to assume that developers would have some access to the new OS in the same manner that iOS 5 has been in beta testing for some time now?
there are no beta for the time

I know but shouldn't devs get some access to it prior to release?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

if there is a beta its inside google only, maybe even the manufacturers. No "civilian" has access to ICS, and we won't till the Nexus Prime comes out.

Hard to believe...
I asked in thrill forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1289793
This article is kinda weird...
I quote:
"On the Android scene is the most anticipated Android 2.3 Ice Cream Sandwich which closes the gap between Android 2.2 Gingerbread and Android Honeycomb."
This is completely wrong. They confuse GB with ICS and FroYo with GB...
That update, possibly, will arrive in November just like LG is saying to everybody else in the World.
I don't believe it.
A good place to ask them is here:

I created that thread more than a week ago and I'm still waiting for an official answer. The topic is also the most viewed.
We should keep going there and asking the same question until get fed up and release this update.
good news, if is true

ICS is still in early Beta and not recommended as a daily driver. Considering you are nmn to flashing/modding I strongly suggest you stay away from ICS, until it's more stable. You've been warned.

I'd actually suggest that you stay away from any type of flashing, whether kernels or ROMs, until you've done some more reading. The fact that you ask if you need to "jail break" an Android phone is proof enough.
Seriously, just take your time, enjoy your phone as it currently is and do lots of reading before you even consider flashing anything.

Ice Cream Sandwich port

I was looking through the forum but not any person has developed ICS for Galaxy Sl. My friend who has a Galaxy 5 now also have ICS in his phone plz somebody do something!
Look at this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1449649. If you think nothing is done, you should probably do it yourself and not be so demanding. Please look around first and it is NOT EASY to port roms. Do not create new threads for useless stuff please

Google it. I assume it's the 4.0.4 update that was released in EU today. This is definitely not something that warranted a thread, let alone a thread in the development section. Please try searching for answers before posting in a dev section. Thanks.
Mods, please close.
