Hey all I follow up on this forum a few times a day. I hadn't posted enough to post in the dev section. So I thought I'd post here. A Quick question about octane, when i'm running my BT sometimes for no reason the phone disconnects from it and connects right back. Idk if it's just me or if others ran into this problem, I did the wifi mod from the official kj6. Does it make since that if I were to replace the BT folder it may work better for me?

My Bluetooth won't connect to my car anymore?
Actually it won't even turn on anymore. Not too impressed.

Yes I am asking for help. Lol
So after a couple of reboots the phone connects to the car. But when I try to send my contacts to the car it won't connect to the car. Any help would be appreciated

Can we get more help from you first?
Stock ROM? or modded? If so, which one?
Gingerbread or ICS 4.0 leak?
What kind of kernel?
When you connected your bluetooth for the first time, did you pull down the dialogue from the status bar asking to give your car permission to access your address book? If you didn't that could be the problem.
I've found that usually when I have a bluetooth connection problem, it usually helps to delete the phone from my car's memory, and then re-pair it and give it permission to access my address book...

It's in the OP's signature block, assuming it's up-to-date...
the BT in this phone (2.3.5) is terrible. a single reboot "SHOULD" work.
I ended up having to leave BT on all the time. Now, it works consistently in both my cars without fail. That said, it still sucks that I can't turn it on/off as I wish.
I've been trying to determine if ICS has this same problem, but haven't had time to flash it yet to see.

I can say with certainty that the bluetooth on ics is vastly improved over 2.3.5. I can now actually turn it off and on without having to reboot anymore.
Yes I'm on stock rom, GB.
after a few reboots it worked.
The Bluetooth on this phone is crap. That's the only good thing my old x10 was better at than this phone. I hope ICS improves this.

C'mon. Why this attitude, guys?
It is most likely he is asking for help. I find that obvious.
Even if he is commenting, there a gazillion threads just commenting, so that a discussion can occur on an issue..........should we delete all those threads?
If you feel you cannot make a decent statement, or help or contribute just forget the comment/thread and move on. THIS GENERAL SECTION IS WHAT IT SAYS "GENERAL". LOL.
There is just too much of INSTANT flaming, it is just sick !!

This IS odd behavior. As someone who is addicted to bluetooth - and I stream ALL my music via bluetooth to my stereo so it is super critical for me - I have found all ROMs to be almost 100% with bluetooth, including when I was on stock. Since you are only two weeks into purchase, maybe you SHOULD try a new phone. It may be a problm that will continue into other ROMs IF IT IS HARDWARE ISSUE.
I am serious, you should give another handset a try............ Now before you do that just see if turning on bluetooth after fresh reboot also sucks, since they will check that. If you can demonstrate that without having to connect to anything, your ready for a new handset. DO IT BEFORE YOU HAVE TO BREAK YOUR HEAD when you find it does not work on a new ROM
My 2 1/2 cents........
How to fix the wifi hotspot on Uniporn AOKP b40? Never turns ON. Thanks
Sent from my UniPornFuse b40 using xda premium
I can't help you but I can confirm the same behavior on my infuse running uniporn b40. I know it was working great in CM9 bc I used it for about a week straight while my internet is out.
It might b a good idea for someone to post this on the dev thread so Yuma and Nun know about it. I don't yet have enough posts to b able to post on dev threads. It seems like it continues to try to set up the hotspot and forces me to reboot in order to turn my normal WiFi connection back on after it automatically turns it off to start the hotspot.
Edit: I just noticed that it was confirmed on the dev thread as well now. Yuma is looking into it.
Thanks,
Boz

I cant post a reply to maclaw forums so I started here
I am using cm9 beta 10
I turn off the heptic feedback, but why my devices still vibrate whenever I touch the menu button? Any solution everyone?
And then my devices couldnt sent short messages anymore
It really annoying that I must try to resend the sms for many times before the messages sent
I tried using GoSmsPro and using custom smsc
But it still doesnt work, but everytime I put my sim card in another devices, I can send short messages (sms) without any problem
Wifi tether dont work but it's not a problem since I can use another tether application
Thats all what I found
Anyone can help?
Thanks, and sorry for my bad english

Sounds like a bug with the ROM. Have you tried installing a earlier version of Cyanogenmod, CM7 for example, and seeing if the issue persists?
No I haven't
CM9 is my first custom rom I try
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium
Then I would recommend trying CM7. If the issues disappear, then you know it's an problem with CM9. If they don't then you know it's an problem with your phone. Either way, you'll be in a better situation than you are currently.
I tried CM7 briefly and didn't have the issues you mentioned. Give it a try.

For the phones that maclaw develops for, cm7 is much more stable...
And he has started dev-ing for cm10 (which is better, compared to cm9), why bother with reports for cm9 then...

Well, even I follow that thread, and I do remember seeing a similar solution/problem in the thread itself...
Have you used the search function in the thread?
Yes I already using search function
And the solution is install GoSMS and using custom SMSC
I did and it still not working
While on the other phone my sim would send sms without any problem

Hello Everyone. I have an att one X that is having an odd wifi issue. I've googled and only found the hardware wifi issue and im pretty sure that's not what i have. I actually got this phone on a trade for a one s, when i recieved the X it alrealdy had the venom rom installed. so at first i thought that it was just maybe a bad rom flash because i looked at the rom build and it was one of the earlier versions, but i flashed cm10 and the issue is still there. The issue with my wifi is that it doesn't connect to anything even if im right next to the router. it doesn't seem to find the router and it'll constantly pickup random wifi signals and not the one i want, but regardless it will never connect. all of the info i've seen out there about the hardware problem says its a week signal problem with both wifi and Bluetooth but it'll still connect. my bluetooth also seems to be working fine. I'm on the new firmware i believe because i have to flash the boot image through fastboot in order to get a rom to load. Can it be the Kernal? i've been reading on this so such for the last two days that i think i read that the kernal must also me flashed in a different way, not straight through the recovery.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'll try and post a quick video on this issue later on
Bro.. Mr sinco and I have been fighting this issue with aosp ROMs for the last 6-8 weeks.... We've brought it up and seems to be pushed aside.. it started making me mad enough to where I'm back on sense ROMs. (Not that there's anything bad about them, I rather aosp)
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Well i think that rules me out. Because I was on the venom rom which is a sense rom. Maybe I'll try another sense rom and see if that works for me
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2
Hmmm sense ROMs have always been good... Maybe try to delete that ROM off of sdcard, do a clean download of cleanrom or something, and try everything fresh.. don't do a backup or anything... 100% clean install and see what happens

i too have been effected by poor wifi performance on all aosp ROMs (specifically AOSP JB rom's) rohan has asked me to provide a log at i have to do so, i just figured theres no way no one else doesnt have the issue and one of his irc buddies or someone with more knowledge would provide one...however we're months later and i still have the issue, i suppose its time i buckle down and logcat the poor man.
Thanks really hope that works. I really like this phone and it would be a shame if it was some other type of hardware issue I can't fix

Well my problem is connecting.. it can take up to 20 minutes just to latch on. Once its connected the performance OK OK, nothing to complain about but nothing to brag about either.

Which rom are you using?
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2
Its the router not the phone. Well kinda.... the phone(with aosp or cm installed) does not handle certain securities that some router use. I have been troubleshooting the best I can and I finally got mine to work but you need to be able to adjust router settings
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
How do I edit router settings? This happens on every aosp ROM..
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
It happened to me on every ROM I tried that wasn't a sense ROM. I ended up having to turn of DMZ and WPS. After that I got my normal download and upload speeds and it always stays connected.

Yes after I turned off DMZ and WPS everything worked right away.

Do you turn this off in the phone or the router?
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2
On the router. DMZ is a security subnetwork to help keep internet "things" out of your router. WPS is also on the router and helps people who have trouble connecting devices to their router to be able to just hit a button to connect. Turn them both off in the router settings.

Another question. So your phone still doesn't connect to any type of secured wifi networks with any rom period?
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2
Idk. I haven't test on many networks. Only home and work. Work has limited security. So it connects fine

i realize my post was far from informative...yes my issue is it not conecting as well. will try, but if you watch it, it stops and just sits at "secured, not in range" or wtf ever. After you put the password in, turn the screen off and let it sleep for a minute, i bet when you turn the screen on itll be connected (its been my only solution so far)
Well PLUKK thanks for all of the feedback. My issue is experiencing it's own unique characteristics and issues I haven't seen, but also includes some of yours. Unfortunately I haven't been able to test on any open unsecured network yet. But the thing with my phone is that it will literally be right next to the router and it sometimes won't show the router in my list of available networks but it'll show others. And all of them are secured. I've tried this at my home and my girlfriends home and here at the school I work at. I work at college so WIFi is everywhere and I've never had problems connecting before, but the issue is that it doesn't even show up on the available networks sometimes it it'll show a network I've never seen. I'll try and post a video about this issue a little later. As I know I'm probably Not getting my point across very well.
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2
Every router is different and each one has security set up different. That's why some you see and some you don't. It is the phones ROM causing issue BUT it can be solved by adjusting settings. Since you can't do that if the router is not yours then you can
A. Wait for a fix
B. Use a sense ROM
C. Turn off WiFi
I have tried myself for a week trying to fix my phone too but I have the know how to only do so much. Good lukk
