Bricked infuse GTG won't work - Samsung Infuse 4G

Ok, so my infuse is bricked. I use GTG with odin 1.81 and it does everything but gets stuck at factoryfs part won't go any further. Please help!!

Do yourself a favor and try a different PC. I know it sounds far fetched but I had the same issue once and it worked for me.
Just my 2¢

Don't have another PC but this one has always worked in the past?

Try different usb ports... Just keep trying it will work eventually

Mine did too. Then one day nadda. All I did was hook up to an old laptop and bam. All better
Just my 2¢

The best ports for it are usually the ones on the back

did you reset the partition?

Bricked captivate

It looks like I've done the impossible. I was running cm 7 gb on it and like a dummy went back to stock. Tried flashing continuum 3.1 and phone got stuck in a vibration loop.
Was able to get into d/l mode with jig and tried to odin stock again. Phone screen went all green and odin was stuck at rfs. Can still get into d/l mode with jig but now phone just shuts off while running odin.
I think my biggest issue is that I didn't follow the steps properly and repartition while going back to stock.
I just ordered an inspire 4g, hopefully I will be able to get the cappy up and running again so I can sell one of them later.
Anyone have any ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Next time just use the one click package
Have you tried pulling the battery for a minute or so before putting the phone in download mode?
I've tried every method I could find. I tried with odin one click but don't think I have everything downloaded that I need to make it all work properly as far as the put files and everything.
I tried finding it to try it but have had no luck. When I tried odin I used a version that I've had since buying the phone. Its a very old version of stock that I think I got from ponack.net last yr some time.
thank you for the reply's. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

When I first replied about trying everything I hadn't read your full reply as i was using my wifes phone. After reading it on the pc I am going to give it a shot.
Will let you know how it goes, thank you for the help.
Tried method above with no success. No biggie, I'm going to send it to a guy to try to get it fixed so I have it as a backup in case I don't like the inspire.
The wife is ready to strangle me over this. Good thing she loves me.
Thank you all for your help. If I get it fixed and like the inspire enough I might end up selling it our keeping it for a play toy.
Thanks again.

Sounds like you're trying the wrong thing. The one-click odin stock doesn't require you to download any extra files, that's why it's a one-click solution. Everything is already packaged into the program, so all you have to do is connect your phone to the computer in download mode and hit the start button in odin, and the software takes care of everything else to get it back to factory defaults.

I am able to get it into d/l mode only using a jig but no matter what I try it doesn't seem to work.
I'm going to send it to Josh from mobile tech reviews, he thinks he might be able to fix it.
If not then hopefully I will have learned a lesson from this. That lesson being, don't mess up my inspire or I might end up single again. Not a big fan of that happening.
Thanks again to you all for your time and suggestions. People like you guys are the reason I like xda so much.

Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again. after like 5 hours of trying to get download mode to work, It just didnt. tried many different stock images. so, after being totally pissed I noticed that usb showed up while my phone was at the phone----computer screen. Tried to flash and BAM! my phones back to normal. So did you guys know you can flash from the soft brick screen? or am I totally late?

You're late.
It's been known for a long time that the only time you're hardbricked is when the phone shows NO signs of life at all. The phone-PC screen is just "forced" download mode.

[Q] (Q) Downgrade frm CM 9 back to gingerbread and bricked [Resolved, please delete]

I tried going back to gingerbread using Heimdall 1 click and it gives me a kernel error and failed. Now phone won't boot past the rogers logo. Any suggestions? No samsung screen. No green battery indicator when plugged in. Heimdall does detect the phone, and I've tried all USB ports and cords at my disposal. I use a mac so no access to odin. This is the first brick I haven't been able to get myself out of. Any help you would be appreciated
I am a gt i9000 owner, but can you get into download mode?
Sent by Santa Clause
If you can get download mode, then flash a gingerbread stock rom, even if it means you will lose root still do it, then flash a new rom of your choice, if you can get into download mode then you haven't got a brick

Been bricked more than once...you have?
Embarking on a fresh new ROM without educating oneself can be very frustrating....since your on a Mac..with in the one click you say it reading your phone...can you get to download mode?
Pull battery
Plug in USB to phone
Hold both volume button
Pop battery back in

I can get into download mode.heimdall detects my phone. I tried both qksters and adam outlers 1 click. neither would take. If I upgrade heimdall version (as it tells me its out of date) it wont get through the initial connection to the phone. if I use with out upgrade it continues to fail on kernel download.
This is my second brick (first one was when trying to root it on my mac) First brick was fixed through odin at my work. Unfortunately I don't want to wait till monday to have a functioning phone

Hummmm..ok
Let's step back here does out prompt you for drivers?
....you might have to make a stop at your office..
Try different USB ports, I used heimdall yesterday to go back to gingerbread (so I could get the boot loaders) and I had the same problem as you, I finally got it to work with a different USB port and even then it kept failing...but I just kept trying and eventually it went through
(Pull battery, place battery back in, hold volume up and down, plug USB in-should put you in download mode...even if you can't see anything on your screen you can still enter download mode)

Alright, here it is:
I encountered the same problems yesterday, heimdall doesn't work when flashing back to stock from ics, from what I've found, you must use gtg's ultimate unbrick, the pit repartitions everything and also resets your binary counter (cha-ching! ). Once completed, your phone will reboot and be stuck at "...installing default apk files..." for a few minutes, don't panic, let it run its course. From there on, you can do the usual root/flash cwm deal. .

Agreed. On my desktop (quad core 6 gb ram, watercooled blablablabl) can't run heimdal nor Odin to save its life.
My netbook (single core atom) took me back from CM9 with Odin like it was nothing.
My 7 year old laptop (running Ubuntu) works great using Heimdal (just run the .jar file as an executable)

No ... understood..no worries...there are some many that have never flashed or much less read anything regarding flashing are having so many prob`s...when this ics it's still bring birthed...for the infuse.
Instead of going to the dev section and doing some home work...understanding the basic info....they see ICS and have pictures of Sunday treats....in their mind...having no clue about the current ROM they are on now...Then the questions pop up...from individuals...after wards yelling SOS...But hey it's their phone.

I've flashed lots of roms and never had any issues. Also looked through the forum and know the basics about getting back to stock. I'm no expert, but I have a decent idea what I'm doing. I do appreciate a forum you can ask questions though and have people help out when your stumped. I did what i could from the tools I have at my disposal here, and ran into some problems. I'm not yelling SOS, just asking for some tips as what I have tried hasn't worked. All the same I do appreciate everyones opinions and help they provide. THat's what makes this forum great.
why would you need to heimdall if you are on a rogers infuse? Isn't that for AT&T phones only?

Hey guys my Samsung Infuse will not turn on. Before you ask, i have used Odin and Heimdall. I think it is bricked but i can get into download mode and Odin will not pick it up that it is connected. I have downloaded GTG ultimate unbrick and that has not worked. Ive downoaded the stock gingerbread one click method using heimdall from qkster and THAT has not worked. Your answer should be a sticky. :highfive:
Cant find it in the stickies. Anything else i could try, ill try anything?
Hmmm, you didn't find anything in the stickies about it possibly being a bad usb cable or bad usb port or about perhaps trying a different computer?
You say that the phone won't turn on but that you can get it into download mode. That sure sounds to me like it turns on.
You don't give much info.

OK the phone has finally booted up and everything is functional. Now i have a problem where i can see the downloading screen sometimes when the phone is on but im not in download mode. Is there a way to fix that?
Only thing I can suggest is full wipe and a fresh flash of your rom. Good luck!
A fresh flash from Odin/Heimdall? or CWM.
I would try cwm first then heimdall.

Help Please?? Can't get back to stock through Heimdall:(

Hi guys.
Was wondering if anyone could help me out with my phone. I'd been running the Unnamed rom for a while then last week the phone started acting up on me. Now I'm trying to return it back to stock and for some reason I'm getting a claiming interface error. It says device connected on Heimdall, and the connection is able to initialize but it keeps failing on the interface part.
Any help would be truly appreciated.
I suggest you try another USB port or even another computer if you can.

this happend to me once but what i did was
1.restart pc
2.take out battery from phone nd put it back in
3.enter download mode
4. put usb cable on a different spot (sometimes odin can interfer with heimdall)
5.open heindall with phone already on download mode
6.reinstall drivers for that usb slot

make sure you have everything for heimdall
IF NONE OF THESE WORK
