"The micro SD card slot is just for additional storage. You cannot transfer your apps installed in the tablet to the micro SD card. I am currently using a 32GB micro SD card for videos and music and work related documents."

put media on micro sd card. Any internal space on the 16/32GB is avaiable for apps. (Unlike some devices where only a small section is dedicate for apps).
If that's not enough space for apps you don't need a tablet IMO.

Use of SD CARD

When I had a P1000, I used a lot the feature of sending applications and games and its data files to my SD CARD with a single purpose: leave the internal 16Gb memory as free as possible for better perfomance.
Now I have a rooted P6200 and I only can use my SD CARD for storing music and videos because I have no option of MOVE TO SD CARD anymore.
I also tried some applications that MOVE TO SD CARD, but none of them work.
I called the SAMSUNG SUPPORT and they told me I should be able to move to SD, but I read somewhere that it's something about the way that Android 3 and 4 manage partitions... what makes me believe I will not be able.
So, I am confused.
Can I move applications to SD CARD or not?
Can I make a application store data on SD CARD? Example: MailDroid or a game that consumes a lot of the memory - I would prefer to store data on the SD card.
Does anybody have a hint for that?
Thank you!

There are some apps in the Google Play Market like app 2 sd or move to sd (something like that), you can try one of those.
Personally I have no experience on these apps since I still have plenty of space, but you can read a little the features and see if that works for you
Unfortunately, APP2SD does not work to me

Thank you for your suggestion, but when APP2SD starts, I receive this message:
Your device has no real primary external storage or primary storage is emulated
APP2SD will not support move 2 card.
I dont understand this message. I have the 16Gb internal memory plus a 32Gb SD card as s imple a s it can b e, but it is not moving to S D.
P lease someone help me how to solve it.
By the way, the 32Gb SD is fully recognized by the P6200. I can see all my files regularly.
Link2sd may work, but I don't think there would be any performance gain from moving the apps over.

Can I get super user access without rooting? Link2SD tells me I have to allow it to move the app.

Super User access is root access. so, no you can't.

From my point of view, rooting is something relatively easy, both to get and to lose: you just flash a zip from the default recovery. It does not even takes your flash count up. Basically, it's a single file that needs to be placed in "/system/bin/". If you need to send it to support, mount "system" as R/W and delete "su".
I could be wrong though, but you should really look into it. I think it is worth it.
By the way, I think you would have to partition your SD Card to use it with Link2SD...

How to fake that a SD card exists

I have a Kyocera Rise 5156 with on SD card. I am trying to use offline navigation but all apps look for the SD card. I was wondering if there is a way to confuse Android into thinking that there is a SD card.
Thanks.

That's an interesting question.
I had a similar question and I was going to purchase a cable simply to test this theory.
If you have a female micosd cable to connect to the phone with female usb on and connect a usb flash drive it may think the powered usb is a micro sd card
this is a interesting question. never heard anything can do that . maybe a real card would be the best solution
so difficult for me, so i would like to say , use the real card to make your phone believe that:laugh:
What do you mean by a "real card" because the Kyocera Rise does not have a slot for an SD card?
I think i know what he is asking:
Some apps on his phone want his "real" sd card which is insered in his phone. but what he want is that it uses his internal storage.
hope thats right :silly:

There is no SD card option so I have to use the internal storage.
The whole purpose for trying to fake a SD card was so I could use an offline navigation. Most require a SD card but I finally managed to find one that doesn't require a SD card. The app is call GPS CoPilot. Tried some of the features. Seems to work fine but still have to try use it on a trip.
If you are rooted perhaps you can simply make a system link from the sd card directory to a folder in which you wish to store the data?

Some phone you can disable internal memory, like the zte v970, not sure about your phone....
Yeah exactly what I wanted to say. Or, a usb female cable would work.. just a few bucks on eBay.
You can't cheat your device. THIS IS NOT FAIR!
I don't know if it helps but my P3100 has an sd storage eventhough I have not inserted an sd card.
I suppose it's done automatically by the os.
You might want to find out why it needs an SD card in the first place. It could be that it uses the SD card to store all of the maps and data. Therefore, if you "fake" having an SD card, you might be able to use offline navigation, however it would be useless as it would not have any resources to pull the information from.
You can create a new partition and mount that as /mnt/emmc or /mnt/storage1 depending on your android version I suppose

mount it and with a proper drives

[Completed] move apps and app data to external sd card

Is it possible to move apps and app data to the actual external sd card on my tablet not the internal sd card. I am rooted btw
Hi!
I won't link to any one particular app, as I've not used them myself...so I don't want to recommend any one app.
But, go to the play store, search on "app2sd". Theres many apps that will do that for you.
Good luck! ?

LG G5 SD card

Has anyone had any issues moving applications to the sd card? I find that I don't have that option under applications. Have spoken with LG support and T-mobile support. They didn't have anything to offer, so thought I'd try here.
I've used multiple types and sizes of sd cards. I can see the sd card in the file manager, but can't move applications to it.
Anyone else seen this?
Any suggestions on what the issue might be?
Edit: I found the answer thanks to s T-mobile support person.

Without adaptable storage enabled, the SD card can only be used for storage of music, photo's and other media. You cannot use the SD card for applications.
Some aplications if they are coded from developer to have option to move to sd card are possible....At least on my end

does the sd card trick work with the g5 like it does with the s7edge?

What trick would that be? I'm not familiar with any work around.

I was able to copy some photo's from internal storage to the SD card last night. But no applications are available to move to the SD card. I went thru about 50 applications last night. None of them had the option to move to the SD card.
