Many apps say "UNFORTUNATELY STOPPED WORKING" on Android Revolution HD ICS 6.0.3 ......
is this my own fault or does it appear on beta roms???
umm, need to be a little more specific please - which apps?
also general rule for FCs (forced closes) is to try one of two things:
- clear the apps data via manage apps, and/or
- do a fix permissions via recovery
Shaun
Did you do a full wipe before installing?
Answer
I think it might be because the apps are not yet compatible with ICS?
I installed the same ROM yesterday, and I'm having the same problem. For now, I just noticed that Viber and WhatsUp are doing it. May be there are some more. I did full wipe before installing.

Those don't have ICS support yet, so you'll just have to wait.

Is anybody else having issues with Facebook force closing on cm7? I'm fairly sure it has to do with the fb update. I uninstalled and reinstalled and am still having the issue. I just want to know if anyone else is seeing this issue and if there are any work around.

I'm seeing it when selecting friends. I looked in the market for the option to uninstall updates for the app but it wasn't there. I think I have the old version in a Ti back up. I'm thinking of uninstalling and restoring from that.

Completely uninstall the app, reboot, then install. If that still doesn't work, backup, then reflash the ROM.

Worked. Awesome!
Haven't encountered any issues with Facebook with cm7..
I'm having too many issues now with CM7 nightly 41+, too many FC from differents applications such like gmail, fbook, mail client and even brwser. I installed CM7 a counter of time doing, format system, dalvik, cache and with each cm7 nightly I have some applications giving me fc. I never had this problem with older versions.

Sounds like you missed data. Formatting \data may help as well. Redownload the ROM(to make sure it is good) and follow these steps:
Reboot recovery
Run system wipe
Run Cache wipe
Format /system, /data
Wipe /dalvik
Then choose install .zip from SD, install CM7
Optional: Install GAPPS.
That should resolve it. And remember, NEVER restore system data from Titanium Backup.

FB 1.5.2 works well. No new features like 1.5.3 but at least I can use it without FC's.
I have the latest version of InsertCoin flashed and also the TMOUS fix for that Rom flashed. A majority of my apps, along with my Contacts app, make me force close. I've tried to fix the permissions using Rom Manager but that also gives me a force close. Oh, Super User give me fore close also. Any idea what is wrong and how to fix it?

I seem to figure out what happened. I lost root access and had to reinstall the su.zip again. But I'm still getting this force close when I open up my contacts:

Honestly, i'm sure its not what you want to hear, but you should FULL wipe and start from scratch. I haven't had a single fc using insertcoin and the tmo patch wouldn't cause it. I'm thinking its a bad flash and or wipe. Once you're up and running make sure you disallow auto updates and unistall update for superuser. Also no restoring system data.
mate its beeen said in the rom thread like a million times read will you its super user latest version has issue with rom, remove the superuser app updates then wipe dalvik and cache and u should be fine

Behold_This actually helped me out w/o being an jerk. If it bothers you that much, why take the time to reply? By the way, you were wrong. A simple redownload of the Rom fixed my problems.

which also would have wiped the updates lol
Atm I am running latest IC with latest firmware (3.24 unlocked)
So my problem is I can't login on my facebook account on any 3rd party apps (slr notifications, friendcaster, go!facebook chat etc.) I sais "Loading Facebook Authentication, then just freezes and closes.
So far I have tried Re-flashing without any themes etc, but the problem persisted, so themes doesn't have anything to do with it.
Also tried not restoring apps from TB. That didn't help either.
So does anyone have suggestions for something I can try to fix this, or is it a bug in the RUU? (Don't think so though, haven't seen anyone else with this problem)
Only solution I have is to flash an old ROM, and just backup data after logging in, but that's so much stress ^^
Thanks!
Did you use superwipe? Or just flash without wipe?

Yes..But still same issue
I've never had that issue with custom roms! In fact custom roms have been more stable ( in my experience) than stock roms. You did a full wipe before installation? Perhaps bring up this point in your roms developers forum, perhaps it's a issue they know about already? Wish I could be of more help.

Ok, so this is probably a weird one. I'm using an HTC One X with ViperX 2.1.2 Rom on stock kernel. I started noticing that when I use Google Search (the widget or the app), I'll search for something and when the results come up, I couldn't click on some of the results. I click on the blue text and it just highlights it once then does nothing. It won't launch the browser. So then I was noticing that it was only happening sometimes, so I continued to experiment and found that it only does it when the title of the result extends onto two lines. If the resulting webpage title is only one line long, the link opens the browser perfectly every time. This being one of the most used features on my phone, it gets extremely irritating. I've tried everything I know to try. Please help!
Bump
Can anyone help me?
Wipe caches and reflash gapps would he my suggestion. May even want to redownload your zip to make sure its not corrupt.

Thanks for the reply. Tried that and only made more problems. I just found that when I rotate my phone to landscape while viewing the results in.google now, I am able to open any result. (Because the webpage titles don't extend onto two lines). Such a weird issue! It's like when you tap a result, the programming only knows to try to open the immediate next line.
I just tried to duplicate your issue. All works well. I'm on CM10 with full 4.2 gapps. ???? Maybe try a different ROM?

I would, but I love the viper rom so much. It's just this small issue that I can't figure out. I've tried finding a reinstall for google now itself that is compatible with ViperX 2.2.0, but haven't been able to find it. Does anyone know where i can get that?
Thanks
Must have been a super rare problem, no one else has had it like me. I since installed a newer version of viper and it works fine. I think a potential for some of the weirder random problems with these roms might be a virus scanner on your computer (if you downloaded the Rom on your computer). Seems that it might break the Rom in small ways.

Just the version that came with the rom ...can't update I because it's not compatible on the play store. I did some research and since it is an ICS rom it must be some special modded version of the JB or whatever version of Google search. All the projects trying to mod the newer Google search versions to ICS appear dead, so I figured it was hopeless and just used "Google now remover". Now I'm back to the old Google search. Funny though, as this rom is still in somewhat active development and it's specifically designed for my phone but nobody on the development thread has ever mentioned this problem. Oh well, not really a problem for me now.
If you have root you can use Titanium Backup to uninstall system apps, you could do that and then install Google Search from the Play Store which should update it to the latest version.
