[Q] Scratches on camera lens - General Questions and Answers

I have spent over a day online searching for what can be done if anything for a scratch on the rear lens of my Hero H7300. This phone is an Android clone of the HTC HD7 which rear lens protrudes from the back of the phone. Before I could get a shell of some kind (difficult to find here in the Philippines) I have ended up with a very fine scratch. When the camera is in use you can see a small dark spot which shows up in the pictures and videos taken.
Someone here must have experienced this problem. What have you been able to do about it? I want to take it to one of the local repair shops but that was the fate of my last cell phone (never to work again).

[Completed] Manual Focus [lens + Adapter] for smartphone.

I dunno what it is, but this could be something new, you could call it
invention or innovation..or whatever.
but this idea came to me after a friend of mine got his new [Nikon D200]
Digital-SLR and started showing me some of his new clicked photos. they were
good, especially the Manual Focused ones. the Bokeh effect, and other
stuffs...
i kept wondering why doesn't a phone camera offers these features.
so, i got back to my home after that instance, and started reading and
binging about the Camera and it stuffs, a gathered a huge knowledge outta
the web all about the working of a camera.
meanwhile my smartphone was screen cracked (it had other problems earlier, so
i sent it to repair, but no use).
so i started experimenting my phone camera out, and that DSLR jealousy lead
me somewhere else.
ha ha..
my li'l sister used a playable laser projector, so i stole it from her and
took the lens out, it was 8-9mm lens with 16mm focal length (maybe).
i broke my camera lens, attached the 8mm lens, nothing worked.
i took out the focus hardware out (don't know what it actually is called as)
by rotating anti-clockwise..
and there was a 4mmx3mm sensor.
so i build a smartphone outta a carton board, sticking different shapes with
adhesives, and then attaching my lens into my smartphone..
and yeah it worked..
i clicked some pics, but....yeah it was just an alpha version..
then i took out a lens from a Point-&-Shoot camera and attached it to the
Case, with adhesive..
and then started the photography..
and the result were quite awesome.
.
if i can do it why cant you, but before that you have to be sure that you are definitely willing to do this....
.
i have uploaded some pics of the lens+adapter, and some pictures of my
friend, and some other stuffs i took using this......:good::good::good:

[Q] Camera lens cracked. Need opinions

Okay, so, I cracked my phones camera lens while at work. Don't know how, don't know when. I just know that it was at work. I'm placing pictures of how it looks and what it looks like to take pictures, below. taking pictures and videos looks foggy and and leave a halo effect on the corner. Also, I don't think it will focus anymore when touching the screen. My question is, what replacement part do I need to get this fixed? I have a NA Nexus 5 (not that this type of problem should matter whether or not it's NA or not) Also, does anyone recommend a place or a link that they have for the replacement part? Thanks for your help.

That's the part you need. It has the lens embedded in it.

[Completed] Note 4 rear cam help

Hello first of all im sorry for my poor english. I need help on my note 4 rear cam. I often use my camera but recently i tried taking a picture and i saw a dust or black spot on my rear cam. I tried taking out the lens but there is still a black spot or dust. Please help
"ps im sorry i dont know how to upload s sample pic of my rear cam.im new here so it prevents me to post link on imgur"
Hi,
Its likely a particle that got inside, and aside from dismantling it, you may need to live with it. Or take it to a service shop.
But for other opinions, feel free to ask about it here,

Blurry camera

I just want to start off by saying , YES i know there are multiple threads about the G5 and having the main camera not focus. I found that if i shook my phone, that eventually it would focus. Most people seem to fix this problem by replacing the camera. So i went ahead and bought one from ifixit, and when it arrived, the camera was DOA. They sent me another and after 1 day, the same thing happened. The phone refused to focus. So they sent me another replacement and the same thing. It wouldn't focus. They agreed to refund me. I then bought one from ebay and after installing it today, IT DOES NOT FOCUS. I have checked/cleaned the lens area , so no there are no smudges. There is 1 scratch but it does not cover the lens itself. The secondary camera has about 3-4 scratches that cover the lens, but that camera has no problem focusing. Does anyone have any ideas? I have had this phone for over a year, and apart from this issue it has been bullet proof(ignoring the screen retention problem that seem to also affect phones like the s7). I love it so much. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Not going to help much but I'm in the same boat. I can hear the camera rattling when I shake it, and with my original camera, the focus mechanism trying to to its thing. Tried a few ebay ones labeled as "New" and got ones that are pulled from old phones and won't even try to focus or simply not work at all. I would think that ifixit you wouldv'e had the best luck with and thats pretty disappointing to hear because I was hoping pony up and just go with them next. All I've heard is that you just have to keep trying until you get one that works, then be super careful with it. Kinda sucks, at least we have the wide angle though and thats what I use most of the time for actual pictures but most apps only go through the regular camera.
I am at a lost on what to do. Its so frustrating. The wide angle camera is nice, but not as a main camera. I have to zoom and crop quite a bit since I use Fb messenger(which kills quality) and the wide angle is such a hassle. I literally gave up. I'm tired of "trying" other ones. I really don't know what to do. I guess I either live with it or, sell it for cheap, then buy a s7.

Black Spot in main rear camera - SM-G9700

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all safe and well.
A dark spot appareared in the main rear camera of my S10e (photo attached) about a month ago. I tried all different tips (shaking the phone, dropping it, etc ,etc). It clearly seems the particle is within or above the sensor, as I cleaned the lens several times. Only solution they gave me at Samsung is to replace the camera module. Only problem is that I bought this from a HK retailer and they won´t do it here, unless I send the phone over there to repair (I am currently in Spain!). So my question is: does anyone know if the camera module is specific for the SM-G9700, or modules from other S10e models should work as well?. My plan (and I think only alternative to fix this) is to buy the main camera module online and ask a local repair shop to replace the module. Any suggestions, tips, help will be really aprreciated. Thanks
Looks almost like a little bit of debris fallen from somewhere else inside the phone after manaufacture. Samsung seal up their phones pretty well. Glue together job. Pity you can't just send the phone back....
