[Q] MikRunny sense reboot - EVO Shift 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First off i love this rom. Everytime i hit the home button loading pops up is there any way to fix this. Sorry for the noob question. Thanks in advance.

Should be on the thread, but I know. You don't have enough posts. Been there . Well it is a Beta, so there are still a few bugs. Although I haven't had that issue. Did you do a Full Wipe before flashing the Rom?

Yep i wiped thre time then flashed but i will try again. For a beta this thing runs very smooth im excited about the finished product. I havent run into to anyother problems.

But did you wipe as described in THIS guide? I was getting Sense reloads also, when setting up. But after a few hours the Rom settled down .

When flashing, you have to wipe and then flash the rom, followed by the patch before the first bootup or else it will have weird issues

Just flash the new RC version HERE. It's odexed, and has A2SD built in. Not to mention a lot of ther improvements. A2SD just has to be enabled. Instructions are on the thread.

Thanks everyone for the info. I have the RC installed and running smooth as butter. Still tryin to figure out if i need to run dark tremor or not. Only thing holding me back is I dont have a computer right now and dont want to erase my sd card. Any way thats for all the help

If you choose to use A2SD, you can do it through Terminal Emulator. You can download it from the Market. Then open, and in Terminal Emulator type su press enter, type a2sd reinstall press enter. If you get to a PC with ADB setup, then it's ADB remount, ADB Shell, a2sd reinstall. It will run and take care of the rest.

I ran beta but I noticed the enable/disable 3g control was not working. If you boot your phone with 3g enabled, it will work, but if you connect to wifi, 3g will disconnect, and I don't know you, but I can't reenable it, only rebooting. I see now there is a rc but may be I'll wait the final version.

A lot of those little issues were adressed in the RC. But it's by no means the final version .

troubleshooting:
check su to see if permission granted. in retrospect, su prolly isnt the issue; i ran cm on a nonrooted hero and it started and just disappeared. if its stuck at "clearing" then its an internal issue.
fresh wipe and reinstall of your current rom. its VERY possible your rom is the issue.
reinstall of cm
fyi, the biggest difference between the older build and the latest is the power clear (right?) maybe the older version is all you need. keep in mind the older version still clears all the basics in every other build. most cm updates are modre apps added to the list, and lgtely the power clear. cant remember how long ago the widget was released
works for me ... i think it says clear cache finish ... all roms it worked but i think i was on fresh and it sayd 1mb freed idk if i was using a diff one or not

CM didn't work for me. This is my first non-Moment ROM so I'm sure it's me.
I flashed CM from recovery. It said it completed fine. Selected reboot and got the CM boot screen. Got excited. Got less excited when the boot animation restarted on my. It then kept restarting until I pulled the battery.
So booted into recovery and cleared Dalvik. Rebooted. Same thing. Tried reflashing CM and cleared Dalvik then rebooted. Same thing.
Should I do a factory reset first? Can anyone see a step I missed?

[Q&A][ROM][Jellybean] CNA 3.6.6 for Samsung Infuse [PORT]

Welcome, everyone- this is the place to ask a question about the CNA Jellybean Rom- Port for our Infuse and more importantly hopefully have that question answered.
You may also discuss issues you are having such as can't download, which g apps do I use, getting a FC on xyz ap, and so on.
A few general Q & A's you may find helpful:
Q: What is CNA ? Any screenshot and more info?
A: Code Name Android info here: http://codenameandroid.com
Q: Where can I download this?
A: Info is in the OP, or you can go here: http://goo.im/devs/Th3Bill/CNA/Infuse
Q: After flashing or using for extended periods my phone seems a bit slow- what to do to make it faster?
A: The test build for this port ( and MIUI v4) was done on my phone since Th3Bill (OP) does not have an Infuse. (Think about that for a minute, no Infuse and to date has brought us 2 roms to enjoy )
Four things I have done that work for me to make the phone faster: 1. Update Superuser ( if applicable.) 2. Choose a static (still) wallpaper rather than a live wallpaper. 3. In developer settings, change animation /transition to "off" or "0". 4.Use the app of your choice to clean up the phone, I use Cachemate.
One other tip for better battery life - this rom will let you download and use CM 10 themes. Using one that has darker backgrounds throughout uses less battery than themes using a lot of light colors.
OK - it's all yours !! I will help as best I can, Th3Bill has a link to this page and will be checking in as often as he can - you will find he is involved and supportive and there will be updates as new things are pushed to source. Regards.
Thanks for the start of the Q&A. Let me be the first then...
I am coming from Scott's CM10, do I just wipe, wipe, wipe and reflash or do I need to Heimdall (maybe with ICS) back first then flash the CNA ROM?
Which GAPPS do you recommend?

You are correct, should be able to wipe x3 and flash - one person also "fixed Permissions" to clear a FC issue.
Edit; I used the 7/26/2012 g apps, you might need to get the gallery2.apk
Here is what I used for gapps. Works just fine. v3

Wiped/factory reset a couple of times, wipe cache, wipe Dalvik, another factory reset, flashed CNA ROM, flashed jellygapps v3, fixed permissions, rebooted, rebooted again and have an X, then

Guessing your work PC does'nt have phone drivers - I have been using that USB Mass Storage Toggle for some time, including on this build.
That's correct. So no big deal, another hour and I will be home and hopefully up and running once I connect there. I will post again with the results.

Okay, I am home, USB is connected, tapped the Droid, it says UMS is currently enabled. I downloaded the app from the link...
For the devices listed above, the App works like a charm.
•Latest stable version (1.1.4): Download APK (you'll probably want this one!)
Now what? Reboot and flash it?

I suppose the best route would be to start over. There should be no problem coming from Scott's excellent build.
Having said that, try installing a CM9 rom, let it settle in for 5 -10 minutes and reboot, wipes, flash and see if it will boot. Go back later and get the g apps. This is what worked for me. I can tell you that during the install, phone will cut off before making it back to the "reboot system now" screen, however it will restart and take you there so just hit power button to reboot. This rom does take 2-3 times as long to boot for the first time as opposed to other roms.
I'm not so sure you want to flash since they are .apk's

Bill did include the USB Mass Storage Toggle in the build. It should be there when you flash the rom. It was there when I flashed and it works. No additional d/l's were necessary.
Also, I didn't have any of the restarts you mentioned. I had a black screen for about 30 seconds when it went to the new CWM and then a black screen for about 30 more seconds when it rebooted to the Nexus X.
I did think I had problems because it stayed on the Nexus X screen for about 5 minutes before it booted up to the lock screen.
Edit: Also it booted itself to the Nexus 7 screen without asking after installing the rom package. Had to go back in and add the gapps.

about 3m freee in system, so regular jb gapps wont work unless modified to use /data. ics gapps work.
if you have bootloop:
adb shelll and

or just delete it from the zip before flashing

So, got rid of bootloop using adb to remove gps. Boots up fine after that.

Similar problems, but mine's randomly deciding to boot up or not. Sometimes it doesn't boot at all, other times it boots on the first try.
However since the Camera, Wifi, and other Jelly Bean goodness works, I can't help but to thank you on this release, Good luck on further development!
EDIT: And now it won't even boot, sometimes it just gets stuck at a blank screen. Bummer.

And my newly aquired phone came with OP6 02 beta 25 build
Recovery - seems factory
Bootloader - how to check that?
Tried search tho, but im a bit of scared to even try anything without answers, it just isn't complete, too much of doubt i guess (how, where and why)
Thanks in advance
Kind regards
Igor
Developer Options/OEM Unlock = turn it on
Check if ADB is enabled, if not, enable it and check if it's working correctly with drivers
Power off phone then volume up+power button
You are now in fastboot mode, connect phone to PC
Open windows prompt, type "Fastboot Devices" and check if phone is correctly seen
Then type "Fastboot OEM Unlock" a window should now appear on phone, select yes
Phone will reboot and formatted (so make backup before!)
At boot you'll now see bootloader warning screen, it's normal, wait for phone to boot up
Now you need TWRP
Reboot bootloader
You should have 2 TWRP files: one is .img and other is .zip (check here https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/development/kernel-t3800965)
Connect phone to PC, type in prompt "fastboot boot name_of_recovery.img" phone should reboot and TWRP will start
Now from TWRP copy the TWRP.zip on phone memory than flash it, after that reboot to recovery to make sure it's still there, if so you can check guide to install PixenOS
Hope it's all clear

For me Oos open beta is always working fine with no crash or bugs, but i had your same SOT, minute less or more
Well it seems that my GPS is still not working
Is there any way to check that using some other app then G Maps
What are the chances that i got faulty devices with this GPS issues?
Try Google Earth, and try to reboot phone, GPS for me, at every first start of new rom, whatever it is, don't Working till restart

I installed some gps status apps and it worked after a restart

Only problem/bug is with sound, dont know why it goes on vibrate all the time, im not switching it
SOT is amazing, smooth and cool, new gestures work just fine
You got 'thanks'
Cheers
