You will need to flash recovery for t-mobile version (this has been addressed ad nauseoum)

Closest option is: Samsung T-Mobile GalaxyS2. I am on At&t.

Just do t989 because att sgs2 and skyrocket has compliantly different specs. and you will be bricking your phone. Hit that thnx button.

I know there are two Samsung Galaxy phones. The S2 and the S2 Skyrocket.

Guess what Guinness i been dealing with this since the day one so just trust me flash samsung t-mobile galaxy s2 aka t989 cwm. And T-mobile or At&t does not have anything to do with it both sammy phones have similar specs thats why we use t989 cwm recovery Here check out my post! Scroll down and read how to flash cwm.

holy balls, i cant believe the lack of reading and comprehension in this thread.
FFS, when you are told WHICH one to flash, just do it!
And to the guy telling him it should show up as ATT Galaxy S 2, YOU HAVE EITHER AN I777 or a 9100....Stay out of topics in the skyrocket forum that you have ZERO knowledge of. you cant even use ROM manager with the i777.... SMH

As other have said you have to look for the t-mobile galaxy s2. It should install CWM version 5.0.2.7. This verion does have some problems with the skyrocket for example inside the rom manager program and choosing install rom from sd card will not work (it says uncompatible script), but ionce you go into recovery mode and choose the .zip yourself it will work. I hope this helps.

As an aside though, I can choose "Install ROM from SD Card" through both manual CWM Recovery and ROM Manager

Lol this thread is crazy. Lol wow

I'm a rooting/Android noob, and I have a Skyrocket. As others have said, I picked the Samsung T-Mobile GalaxyS2, and it worked great for me. I was able to root from an SD card (booted into Recovery mode and did it from there) without any problems.

so what happened? whats the outcome?

Outcome for what?

"no infuse option"? Where are you looking for? Are you using ROM Manager?
Because officially rom manager does not support the Infuse...
There is a thread in the dev section on how to install cwm.... You need to flash the I9000 version, but you must modify recovery first. Or you could just flash the community kernel with voodoo and cwm.

There is no official Samsung version of JB for the GT7+. I don't think anyone knows whether there ever will be one.
The previous poster was referring to aorth's port of CM10. The first post in that thread gives download links and instructions.

Yes, and after installing CWM Recovery, use it to make a full backup before you flash CM10. (This is in aorth's thread too. I'm just emphasizing it.)
Copy the backup onto your PC or onto an SD card different from your everyday SD card. Keep it safe. If anything goes wrong or you ever want to return to stock ICS, the backup makes it very easy. Without a backup it can be very difficult.

It took 8 months for us to get ICS so I'm assuming the same amount of time or longer to get JB, maybe June 2013.

[Q] [HELP] Phone won't boot

Hi guys,
I just flashed a rom to my phone and then performed a data restore to restore my apps,
However now it's stuck in the boot animation and I can't get past that.
I can't seem to boot into clockworkmod recovery- I always booted into it using rom manager.
I can boot into download mode but that's it. Am I bricked?
My phone is the Samsung Galaxy S3 AT&T (SGH-I747)

OK. Download the firmware for your phone. Any one that you can flash via Odin. Put phone in Download mode and click PDA in Odin.exe. Open that file, it will be in a .tar format and then click flash... then your all ready to go

New Jellybean Update

Hey guys. So my family members and I all have the same phone type, the AT&T skyrocket. Now, I use custom roms so this shouldnt matter to me, but my other family members arent getting the update OTA. Is the update only obtainable with Kies or is there just a problem between the AT&T server and their phones?

Uh I wouldn't want to grab that thing ota. Way to much to go wrong especially battery issues. If some moron decides oh hey yeah lemme DL this with what battery I have left over my 4g network. Dudes battery drains over the course the phone reboots to try and install said update phone dies and bricks. Kies ensures that A. You have a good download of the update package and B. Since you are connected you have juice to update the phone. This is CYA stuff not an oversight. I've seen tons of noobs on plenty of phones "the ota bricked my phone".

Not sure what are the differences between AT&T and Rogers but with Rogers I got my last 2 updates ota. I may be a newb but I'm not stupid so I made sure I had enough battery before proceeding
But it does not matter anymore now that I use custom ROMs.
So ota depends on Samsung and not the carrier?

I believe I read somewhere Samsung makes the update and the carrier determines whether to roll it out in your area.. working deals with Sammy...but don't quote me on that.If you do a search... that would be interesting to know for sure

Yeah I know that the carrier controls whether an update will be released or not. They have to put all their bloatware and test it!
I was asking for the OTA vs Kies part. I thought that Since ICS (4.0), everything was available from OTA. But I think that you can always choose to update via Kies. I did not know that an update could only be released via Kies (disabling OTA). Not sure either.
Anyways! As I said, for me, not important anymore!!

I was able to check for start downloading the OTA from AT&T after already getting it on kies by reflashing to stock ICS. I stopped the OTA though because I wanted to redownload it in Kies to get the tar from the temp file for backup. The funny thing is that I had to do it twice because I messed up trying to find the file before it disappeared. It disappears after flashing is complete so you have to reflash ICS and do it again. Or u can take the easy way and download it off the web...but where's the fun in that?

Well since it's not important, I would guess, your data provider haha. Just going from Kies showing my number along with model number, I would assume they checked if I had service alongside checking my SIM card. Maybe check without a SIM and see what happens?
