Why doesn't my phone interact with my gaming console? - General Questions and Answers

So I have a phone and a gaming console.... Why don't they talk to each other?

My WP7 and my Xbox 360 communicate quite well. Perhaps you're using the wrong platform.

Perhaps he wants free online and a better multimedia console. Perhaps he is intelligent and realizes the added cost of the PS3 is more worth it because you end up paying more for x box live and you get more in a PS3. Perhaps he likes to customize his device instead of being anal about how smooth the settings menu is. Perhaps it takes more to fulfill him than a bunch of tiles thought up by a microsoft employee's small child.

Or perhaps he likes speed, fluidity, and doesn't have to make it out as though icons are something profound opposed to tiles. I don't have to make excuses, my OS fulfills his need, yours does not. That answers the thread.

And what if he has a PS3? Then your idea is pointless.
Edit: and android has widgets, not sure where you got the idea that icons were the best we had.

Cool, my tiles achieve the same effect and don't look mismatched and force close on me.
If he has a ps3, an ecosystem clearly wasn't his concern.

Ever tried (see sig) very themed.

You seriously love anything from microsoft. I sometimes wonder if your bill gates
But no all your post does is say an xbox is better (I have had both and if you use a platform specific game rather than a ported one ps3 easily beats xbox 360). The answer to his question is to use a media streaming app.

He has never really understood that...
A) the android lag really isn't there in some of our phones
B) the android lag is too minimal to even notice
C) no one cares
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda premium

A. ICS solves all. My 1ghz Nexus S, pawns every WP7 device in smoothness. Tested it, and I'm running stock ICS 4.03. Only thing Android is missing are the animations.

Maybe I'll try this out for myself. Unless someone is already working on it or has seen it completed?

Hah, I'm just messin with ya..
Probably, be patient
I think that this port is more than likely. I already know that Portal and Counter Strike have been ported to android via the Unity Engine, that's why I'm posting because apparently the pages are locked unless you posted 10+ times and are a member, so I imaging that they wont be to far behind with CoD Zombies. I know I would love to see this as well.
So this is an app? Where and how do I get it?
I'd love to play zombies but I moved my Xbox with the game running and it scratched the outside of it and the graphics are botched. Some guns are white and the surroundings are "see-through"..... I'm nervous to you toothpaste and I don't know of any sprays..... help?

You do have a point, every time a commercial comes on the TV that advertises an app they always mention iPhone, Android and Blackberry; never Windows Phone.

MirrorOP app

Guys and Gals of XDA, I think I've found the Holy Grail for the Xperia Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.awindinc.sphone2tv&hl=en
A little app called MirrorOP Sender. Fully functional Android display mirror to PC and it runs fairly well.
Just played the first level of Super Mario Bros with only 1 death...Streamed from my Play to my PC connected to my TV through HDMI
All you need is the MirrorOP Receiver for the PC and you're good to go:
http://www.mirrorop.com/product_Windows_Receiver.html
The sender app is only a trial but it's worth a test. I'm not sure if the framerate is connected to how good your internet connection is. My internet isn't that good and it displays fine (portrait and landscape) but from some American speedtests I've seen maybe some of the Americans in here might have better results
Going to give ago. If works, extremely good find
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
Not bad, not bad at all! Excellent find!
Just found out you can also do it the opposite way as well if you get the MirrorOP receiver for your Play and Sender for PC
Runs brilliantly and means I can still access my desktop from the comfort of the toilet
Root only.
Awwwww
lags, dont know why
Tried it out will be perfect if it didn't lag..... Atleast for games and videos ..... But displaying pictures are ok enough......

Not to mention its like THE EASIEST PHONE TO ROOT EVER. None of those ridiculous tools that Motorola phones need to achieve root, no worry of s-off or any of that crap. I pity the Foo who doesn't zergrush his Xperia PLAY first thing.

Not worth paying for yet as just to slow for games. Can test out first as the apps are free for demo time. But this does have lots of potential in the long run. Still early days yet but if see how good splashtop is, this app good just be as good and fast with some more work done to it.

[Q] WHY APPLE Does That??

I need an expert to answer me and explains this to me.
apple's iPhone is in many ways a great phone BUT....
WHY they luck the interface customization?
WHY they don't allow file sharing on Bluetooth?
i just don't get it. what is the advantage of not allowing these things? because these things are available in phones from 10 years ago, so it's not technology limitation. it's the company policy FOR WHAT?
Because it's apple.. they're selfish and think they are the best in everything.

They want the user experience to be as close to perfect as possible so things that might not work flawlessly are disabled for the user. That's why people say iPhones "just work"

Facebook native for andriod

Perhaps most of you know this all ready. And honestly with Facebook you are the product cause your not a customer. However because I along with others have family on Facebook we are in a bind. Well Facebook went native and it finally works well with android. So for the others that have resisted being a user. Maybe its time to give them one more shot?

so far im very impressed with 2.0
The experience is definitely improved with the latest version.
Yup, much better.
Also, the argument that if you're not paying something "you're the product" is.... well I'll just say "dramatic." Yes you're being advertised to, and maybe your information is being used for advertising purposes, but.... most normal people don't give a crap, and it certainly doesn't hurt you.

I couldn't agree with you more about it hurting anyone.
Its not dramatics' its a simple fact. And that's OK that they sell my info to make money so I can have a free social media outlet.
I Apologize if this thread seems derogatory to Facebook. They seem to had missed the mark with not taking care of its "product". A vast amount of android users became disheartened of the HTML code. I wrote emails to fb explained how it seemed they were ignoring the android user.
I digress... the point of this thread was to welcome back and perhaps persuade old users to "give them one more shot" I would have never thought I'd give fb 5stars for the app! all my cool friends are on Google + and my sheep ios family are on fb.
My cool friends are all you guys on XDA!

I usually just used the browser and the mobile site or the Friendcaster app. The mobile FB site looked almost the same as the old app and Friendcaster works really well on a tablet. I'll definitely check out the new update though. It has to be better than before.
