Availability of Official Firmwares for Atrix 2 - Motorola Atrix 2

I search the entire threads for Atrix 2 and i could not find something related to my inquiry so i decide to make a new thread (hope no problems will cause)
some of the old members they might know the problem i face very recently with my Atrix2 (yesterday because i was messing arround and trying to flash the Razr Rom into the Atrix ----Complete NooB), so i have a simple inquiry and i will appreciate it deeply if i could get a support on that.
i would like to know how many Signed Official Firmwares are Available for the Atrix2
as of now i manage to get the Chinese version(complete useless) and the US ATT version (best option but locked for ATT users only)
if in case something more is available can i request please to be uploaded it somewhere in here
i am not interested on customs Rom since the phone it self is very beautiful inside and outside.
Maybe this thread will be useful for other Atrix2 user too who might facing similar problems with me ( soft brick )
Thanks
George

This is posted in the wrong area, this belongs in the general section. This is also technically a duplicate post as MANY have asked this same question about official firmware, no matter which version.
MODs please move this to the general section.

Yes; anything that is development related, actual "hacks", ROMs, rooting, bootloader unlocks, etc. Go in the development section of the Atrix 2 forum, and and any questions, and requests and general talk of of things not really development related belong in the general section.
It might be a good idea to read the noob thread, and the rules.

Nope, but you might PM daywalker04, he is who got us our US version fxz. He will ask you to retrieve several files off your phone and install an upgrade program, that will give him a log file of what to look for.

1) Use the search, if you can't find what you need goto step 2.
2) Create a thread but make sure you post in the right Section and since this is "Sapphire android development" you only post here if you got something to provide the development with if not then "general" is probably the right one! When you create a thread "in the right section" be sure you give all the information you can give when asking for help. Me for once don't wanna ask you 1001 question to be able to help you so always give all the info you can. In this case give us the info about your phone what kind of board it is 32A/B HBOOT and RADIO.
And just a heads up: if the wiki is to technical you should most probably not even get started on flashing anything into your mobile since you will probably just brick it if you don't know what you're doing!

sorta not true....when i first started i was scared as f*ck and thought for sure after my first rom flash that i had bricked my MT3G adn I'm a EE...we should welcome noob's with open arms, because their interest is what will propel android as a "fave" amongst consumers.
Ok, now after getting off my soap box, Mazlano, go to the following site..
1) www.theunlockr.com
2) STUDY www.theunlockr.com
that has all the base information in well concise format that will help you go from a stock magic to one that you can flash Roms.

2) I simply passed along a site to a newbie where they could find concise information all in one spot with videos to getting them feeling comfie with unlocking their phone, thats what worked for me. ITS MY RIGHT to disseminate any information i choose
3) Grow the F*ck up. I am here because once i became comfie with the ins and outs of my phone, unlockr.com had nothing to offer me and i'm sure that the originator of this thread will find the same thing out.
I see why some of the devs get tired of coming here. Instead of helping someone out and leaving it be some of you trifling f&cks are out to berate and belittle others..leave it be...the guy is new...from one fresh noob to another i gave information that helped me. If you had information that could have helped him that would be concise on XDA that i don't know about, just offer the f*cking information and move on...

Comments were indeed stupid. The forementioned site is a good start for a
beginner. Easy and will get him ready for this forum. Let that site take the burden of rooting because this site can be overwhelming with too many opinions and choices and advices. oh... and menacing dickheads.
Yeah, I have to agree. Theunlockr helped my with its step-to-step tutorial to get the recovery img onto my magic - I found also several guides in the forum as well as I consulted the wiki, but the guide there (with video) is even understood by an idiot

just looking after this place cause people can't read the rules on xda
thanks for the site buddy. and way to go looking out for noobs! ... and the other dude against advertising... this site is free isn't it? you dont have to pay to be a member or anything, so directing noobs to other sorces of info wont cost u a dime.

Clean this forum up

I'm sorry if I'm telling people what to do but this forum is ATM to messy.
The moderator should clean it up by pinning the guides to the top and making a "Rom bible" thread where we could locate all the different ROM's.
FAQ thread should be made as well.
I was hopping that we could help the admin with this and not just complain about the situation. So here I start (Please fell free to correct and add things):

ha ha i think that was funny. Functionally this is very useful. What aplhabet priority will you give to arrange it. Just continue with what you have started I hope the Mods take note of this.
Yeah i agree with the op, i hope mods will take care of it!
All you had to do was ask
I'll get this done today or tomorrow. Appreciate the help in getting the links together. I don't have a Defy, so I'm not familiar with all the procedures etc...
I'll definitely do an "FAQ" type thread for all the main guides.
I'm not 100% sure about a ROM list as that is something that will always be changing and require update all the time. I think it may be easier just to let users find their own ROMs?
Opinions?
That would be cool!
Maybe you could include a link to the wiki page. It would than be easier to keep the ROM list up-to-date.
PS: You can find the Defy wiki-page at http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Motorola_Defy
I added the links to the wiki page.
OK, seems good, so the ROM part is done aswell.

It would be workable but it would need two things - ideally a Mod dedicated to the Defy section or at least actively monitoring it and secondly when someone starts a new thread about a ROM, to PM said Mod so that they weren't having to constantly trawl through the section to check for them.
I also think it would be useful is all thread titles were formatted similarly - if it's a ROM, start with [ROM]; if it's a guide, start with [guide] etc etc.
That and trying to keep question threads out of here, have them all moved to the general section.
In fact, now that I think about it, isn't it possible to have it so that any new threads hidden until authorised by a Moderator? That way any threads purely asking questions could be weeded out immediately and, indirectly, the/a Mod would end up aware of any new threads that needed to be added to a FAQ/sticky thread and also fix any badly-formatted title.
I know it would potentially add a slight delay to new threads appearing if there were an Mod actively monitoring the Defy section it shouldn't be too bad.
Sorry for just suggesting ways to increase your workload but I'm just thinking out loud...

I'm happy to keep a list of ROMs up to date if I get help in being informed of any new ones etc....I visit all my allocated forums MANY times per day (probably more than I should, even at work ), so that's not a problem. I'm always just a PM away, any time of day or night, unless I'm asleep
Because I visit all my forums so often, there's rarely a time when there are any question threads in the dev section...I like to move them as soon as I see them, so thats another issue I am managing no problem.
I was considering implemeting the same method as you suggested, using the [ROM], [Guide] etc tags in each thread title as they work well in other forums. I'll create a sticky with more information tonight after work.
The Defy forum has become a lot more populated over the last month or so, which is why things are getting a little more cluttered, so hopefully we can all work together and keep it clean and structured
Please feel free to suggest anything else you think will improve the forums

Sorry, didn't mean to suggest otherwise.
I just wasn't consciously aware of you having been around here and also since you're managing 9 sections eek, I thought maybe it would be unfair to ask so much.
I mean, I've done the moderating thing (elsewhere) but I doubt I could've dealt with that sort of load.
About moving questions away from the Dev section, I had also wondered if it might be worth having a sub-section for questions rather than throwing them into the General section, that way it's easier for people to see if a similar question had already been asked.
But I guess most of the questions will be about particular ROMs/Guides etc and will therefore be asked in that thread, so maybe that'd be unnecessary...
Nah nah, it's ok, I know you didn't imply anything
Yea, it's a difficult one with question threads...most of them are related to ROMs or a particular ROM...and if not they are usually general enough to be put into the General forum, which is intended for general chit-chat on a device, or questions.
Some mods like to have a Q&A dedicated sticky thread in the dev section, but im not a big fan of these.
I think the FAQ/Guide sticky should help somewhat in reducing the number of question posted in the dev section.
I was thinking, some sort of Glossary/FAQ thread/post would also be quite useful.
Terms like 'ClockworkMod' and so on get thrown around and whilst there is a thread on how to install it, there isn't really anything that explains clearly to people starting out what it is.

Please help. Need to go back to stock evo

Hello everyone,
Can someone please point me to a stock 4.24.651.1 rom? I need to get my phone back to stock. I rooted with unrevoked. I can only find odex or deodex (sorry if wrong) versions. I would like the original unrroted version if it is out there. Please, I have searched and just cant find what I am looking for. Even just a point in the right direction would help as I just can figure this out!!
1st wrong section
2nd you didn't look to hard
3rd - here you go - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780141
I tried that and followed that video already. I cant find the stock rom that is not rooted and some of the info I found there seemed out of date with a rom that was to old to use according to my phone. Im sorry if this is the wrong section. Im not sure shere to post. I thought this would be the appropriate section since I found a lot of ROM stuff here. I would be happy to post elsewhere if I knew the right place to post.
Maybe you were looking for this?
http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Supersonic
Keep in mind, if you are rooted, you will lose it. If you install any of the 4.2 ones you wont be able to root it again until they come up with one.
YES!!! Thank you, I believe that is what I need. I really appreciate you pointing me to that site. For some of us who dont get on the threads alot it can be a bit frustrating trying to find the right info. I appreciate your help and not slamming me for asking my question.
Nobody will "slam" you for asking questions but thy will for posting in the wrong section. But it was nice for Chamala to answer your question and let you know it was the wrong section.

Also this thread in these very forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884060
I don't bother fighting the wrong forums, not searching, etc anymore. It's not worth the effort and XDA mods don't really care anymore, especially with the EVO becoming a budget phone.

no but you can read one of the many stickied guides, i charge for hand holding
simplest way , edit build.prop file , change that 2.3.6 or 2.3.7 or whatever you see , to 4.0.3 , you are now on 4.0.3 ,
What my fellow smart asses are trying to say is: don't worry, you are at the right place. Everything you need to find out about your phone is located here in this forum, but you need to do some reading in order to find it. What you are concerned with can be located in "stickies"- the threads at top of the forums which are indicated by the thumbtacks at the far left of the thread. Don't be discouraged by all the threads. What you are concerned with are only the stickies. It is in your best interest to devote the time to read through the first page of these stickies BC 1. You don't want to permanently damage your very expensive phone and 2. You will be amazed by what this little device can do once you've done a little homework.

I assume you've got the i9100 model.
The first thing you want to do, is get to the correct forum. General discussion isn't going to be much help for a model-specific question.
The thread you're looking for can be found here.
If you want more information, try searching google for 'samsung galaxy s2 how to return to stock'... or check the 'stickies' in the parent forum to the thread above (stickies = useful threads that have been bookmarked by mods which will always appear at the top of the list of threads in a forum).
The stickies are marked sticky, because they're the FAQs of the forums. I actually have better things to do than hold your hand and guide you through the process. Sorry if I sound like a ****, I really hope this helped, but you've gotta read and research the topic like the rest of us.
what you need to do is flash a stock from back on your device and optionally a rooting kernel ( if you want it rooted of course. if not you can just skip this part).
there's a dedicated thread for this although I'm unsure as to which sub forum it lies. look for 'carrier-branded firmware for odin' and pick the one for o2.
