Which battery and headset to get for my HTC Desire? - Desire Accessories

Hey,
I was thinking of buying a second battery for my HTC since the current one doesn't last that long if I'm honest, and I'm always afraid to use it when it hits the lower % of battery life as it drains quickly mostly.
I've been thinking of ordering a battery from Amazon.De since it's the nearest to my country, I'm from Slovenia by the way. I don't want to use eBay really since you'd require a PayPal account which is linked to your CC, and currently we're using a family card, so to speak, and don't want to get it limited, so I thought about Amazon.de since all you need to do is register, select an item, and input your CC info, and that's it.
My question is, which is the best battery to get for my HTC Desire for a rather cheap price, and which headset since mine is almost broken, the left ear bud is completely destroyed, and the second one is literally taped.
Please post links to it, and only from Amazon.de since we recieve items in 3-4 days after the purchase was made, co.uk can take longer.

Im looking for a new battery too

Same here. I was looking at the "Seidio Innocell 1600 mAh Extended Battery". It is the same size as the stock battery. Some say it works well but I also read a few negative comments saying that it last as long as the 1400mAh standard battery and it costs more

http://www.amazon.de/HTC-BA-S530-De...sr_1_7_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1
This is the link with the most positive comments. After all for 10 €... you should not have big expectations
I also ordered new headset, some time ago, the same as the original one. The prise was 6-7 euros.

Go to this thread to check out earphones.

No manufacturers make headphones with these controls - the only controller supported fully by headphone manufacturers is the iPhone controller. This is for obvious reasons, there are millions and millions iPods, iPhones and iPads and they all work with the same controller and have done for about three years.
The best you can really aim for is a multi function button and mic which will work with the HTC Desire, one press of the MFB will pause or play, Two presses will go one track forward and three one track backwards.

Extended Battery

Well, I've gone ahead and pulled the trigger on an extended battery and back cover for my S710 since I got it used and the battery is half way after a full day usage and I need more since I'm not always near a charger for a few days - though I am happy it can charge via miniUSB since most people have one for their digital cameras.
So I shall update once I receive it and we shall see truly how uncomfortable it will be with the larger battery door. And it was only $25 shipped on eBay. 2250mAh of goodness will soon be arriving.

you mind putting up some pictures of how it looks with the extended battery? side views, and comparisons with the orgiinal side by side shots if possible.
oh and what kind use do you use it for, do you have bluetooth on, wifi on? or both off? etc.

I have mine already a couple of days. By mistake they send me the wrong lid , I got the one from the S630. Wow, what a biiiig device that is. I'm happy having a Vox
So, they immediately send me another cover, waiting for it now to arrive....
Woah, looks big with the extended battery and cover on it, lol. Hopefully it's still useable. birdibird, when you get your cover - post up some pics, also if you could tell us where you got it, how much and if your new cover still has the rubbery HTC feel to it (when it arrives).
I'll post up some pics of mine when it comes in!
I was wondering how many days of use do you have with those 2250-2300MAh batteries??
I read that someone bought them from megacapacity, others from eBay, others from gpsforless, and others from BoxWave
Can we make list from what of those batteries bought from where, went good and waht went bad?? also advising the other from wich ebayers we should not buy?
Is it allowed by the forum's rules?
Think it would be usufull to everyone
I bought one from eBay and one from BoxWave. They are both the exact same thing. I also still have mine for sale, used for roughly one week. The only subtle issue with them both - is that the contact pads are recessed too much. I had to pad them with copper in order for the pins on the Vox to reach properly. You can also pull the pins out of the Vox a few mm which will assist.
Thanks H4waii
for your cooperation!
ANy other experiences?? Fro what I remeber you where quite a few who bought an extended battery...
Hello! I use extended battery for about a year. What to say... It gives me a chance not to think bout battery at last one day using Vox (calls, GPRS, music, reading and also playing games).
To say, I'm going to buy one more extended battery, because ... I like my Vox but such battery can disappear from the market...

2400mAh extended battery

I think this is just a placeholder, but good to know they'll be coming ...
http://www.thepocketsolution.com/PSI-63756.html
Good price, but as much as I would like the extra time, this thing is bound to look very, very ugly. But I would love to be wrong.
i'm willing to try it out if they are really available
however that website looks rather dodgy, i'll much rather pick one up from ebay than from then.
there are a lot of bad stuff in ebay, but there are also good ones if you know how to look.
if the 2400mAh starts popping out on ebay, then you know it's real, but for now the only ones listed on ebay are just the regular 1500mAh
lol the phone looks ugly with it...
buying the galaxy s because it is less than 1cm big and extending the battery so it become 2cm big ....
yep, I definitely wouldn't order from that website - but makes me wonder if they already know the likes of Mugen or Seidio are going to produce a 2400mAh version.
phone getting ugly is price paid for doubling/tripling battery life. so long as it remains comfortable in the hand and fits in my pocket i'm mostly looking at the screen on the SGS anyway ...
i'll rather 2 extra battery packs to keep the phone in its normal size instead.
if you wear jeans or carry a briefcase/backpack, 2 small batteries can fit anywhere.
even if you are on a date, you can slip 1 in in your front pocket
looks like samsung added a bunch of accessories for the galaxy and vibrant to their accessories page
here's one for that desk charging dock w/spare battery (battery included) for $50
http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/...ype=acc_detail&subsubtype=chargers&returnurl=
You're right, looks like they've even added new back panels that'll fit the Galaxy S! Looks promising.

Daymm 5000 :|.
there is another model with 2000mAh, cheaper
i don't think those are compatible with the SGS i9000
There are not spare batteries, more something like portable wireless chargers... You can connect your usb-microusb to that and it will recharge your phone...
In the past ten years I have always seen business men have either two phones, or an extra battery or two. Mind you, original batteries are the only way to go. Second-rate Class-A batteries tend to lost proper functionality within 3-6 months of constant use. Also factor in the explosion ratio.

Mugen 4500mAh Extended Battery for G2X

Look what I found on Mugen's international site. Of course it has a new back cover for the phone because the battery is so chubby. But 4500mAh, dang!
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...tery-for-lg-optimus-2x-p990-t-mobile-g2x.html
thanks for the link but NO WAY! $100+ is way to rich for my blood...
i just ordered 2 of these. i like the idea plus they are solar and charge all my gadgets on top of my phone. and shipping from china is 22 for dhl but they are worth it and are the size or smaller than our phone! holds almost twice the charge with multiple voltages including 3.7v which is ours.
Total was around $52 after shipping but just sell one or keep the other for twice as much! ill repost this link in thread.

Too expensive and UGLY
Wow, out if my budget.
I could buy 3 external batteries including shipping, for that.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
look at the back cover on that thing and then the shape of the batter! what a waste of space!
I am sorry but I get plenty of juice out of my battery, i dont know what i would do with a battery twice the size let alone three times the size of my current one... that **** would last all week without needing a recharge!
honestly for the same price, little bigger and more juice i could just lug around a mini nuclear reactor... where is tony stark when you need him? im trying to hook my phone up with that mini arc reactor bro!
Yeah, that is way too bulky for the size. If they wanted to extend the back of it, why wouldnt they make the battery a sort of P shape that extends further up the back so it doesnt have to bulge as much?
I MIGHT buy a battery that only makes the back case flush with the camera. I already dont like that camera hump on the back, so a battery that only needed to extend that much or a tiny bit more would be perfect. Maybe like a 2500mAh?
Thread cleanup, back on topic please.
My question here is this: Is it completely safe to use this battery?
I'm thinking perhaps in the future I might want to buy one because I deplete my battery extremely fast with constant use. The only thing I'm worried about is if it will hurt my phone in any way.

you know I was thinking this too, but I did watch some reviews on youtube on their other 4500 mah extended batteries for other android phone models. It doesn't look that bad, infact it seems to make the phones look like a tiny miniature powerhouse PCs from the future.
Right now it says their sold out and will get new stock in June, I'm definitley gonna get one. If like the reviews say that some people don't have to charge this extended battery after 3 days of heavy use then I'll be in G2x heaven. Infact, I would bet as LG was in the design proces for the phone that they were shooting for a phone that could last for 3-5 days on one battery charge, but since marketing research thinks consumers will only buy a slim form factor cell phone, they opted to cut corners on performance for cosmetics, which absolutley sucks in my opinion.
just ordered it. Will post a review once I receive it.
I ordered the 4800 one for my atrix as well. I just received that one today. Will try it out when I get home!

Right on, can't wait for the review. Just wanted to ask though, I saw that they were out of stock and that they'd get more in stock and if I ordered on that certain day I looked on the site, I would get it on June 3rd. I looked at the site again and it said if I ordered that day I'd get it on the 10th, now I checked again today and it said if I ordered I'd get it on the 6th. What gives with all the different ship dates?
You also said you just got the 4800 for your Atrix.
When did you order that one and how long did it take for you to recieve it?
How was it shipped out to you, UPS or USPS?
How did you purchase, with credit card or paypal?
How professional are they and quality of the product?
Does the product come with a specific charger?
And how long did your Atrix last on standard battery and how long does the Mugen battery last?
Sorry for the questions, I'm just very interested in this battery and I'm so ready to purchase, just waiting till they get it in stock, before I ordered, although I'm so anxious just to put in the order now and wait for them to ship it out to me on the proposed date a couple weeks later. But is that wise?

Check the forums for an easy to build tester. I tested a few, and stock batteries for g2 and vibrant, none of the extended ones lived up to their claims. They had more capacity, but not what they claimed, and some caused instability. Stock oem tested within 5%. Extended varied wildly, best being about 25% shy of stated. Imo, that's false advertising at best.
I still have the tester set up. Ship me a battery and I'll test it for you if you like. I'll even pay to ship it back to you, but I will post about it here if you do. Personally, I'm not wasting any more money on them for myself.

Came via USPS

I used paypal. Had no issues
How professional are they and quality of the product?
The quality of the product is awesome. At least so far. This is my second Mugen battery. I had one for the nexus one as well. worked just fine. The one for the atrix ROCKS right now. On average usage (with stock battery) I would get about 1.5 days. With the Mugen, I hit 3 days with 1 full charge under the same usage pattern
Does the product come with a specific charger?
Nope. Just the battery and the back cover.
And how long did your Atrix last on standard battery and how long does the Mugen battery last?
1.5 days vs. 3 days

By the way, I had a Milestone as well, which also had an extended battery but from Seidio, and that battery i was NOT happy with. Did not add anything in addition to the stock.
The only way to test a battery is using an external load / voltmeter jig. Based on my past experience with Mugen, their 4500mAh battery will test out much lower, my bet is somewhere around 3400mAh. Just enough to make you feel like you got value for your money. Theres no way the average consumer can compare battery life using the phone itself.

Yup you're right. I do not have a voltmeter handy so I'm just relaying my observations.
So far, it's been good (I'm still talking about the Mugen Atrix battery since I haven't reeived the G2x one yet). Far better than the stock battery (not just by a couple of hours but by days) so I'm happy

I'll pay a hundred bucks to get at least 2-3 days on one charge. Anything to get rid of this miserable battery life that makes you feel anxiety when you're away from an outlet, especially if you use the G2x like I do which is on the internet constantly browsing and watching vids and playing vid games.
Although on another note, auto airplane mode does indeed make the phone somewhat viable and stops the drastic bleeding when the phone is not being used, and I also notice that under settings> accounts & sync> background data turned off also helps very much with the horrible battery drain when on standby.
Tmobile has sent me a replacement battery which I had to pay $10 shipping, so I might recieve it on the 3rd of June, I'll hold off on the Mugen 4500 mah and see how the replacement from tmobile goes and play around with the other settings I just mentioned. I just don't like the idea of switching out the batteries each time. Gonna put wear and tear on the battery cover and all, so even though I have an extra battery, I'm still considering the Mugen extended.

I know exactly what you mean! That is the reason I was willing to spend $100+ on a battery because I didn't want to bother carrying extra batteries all the time or swapping them out or worry about charging each one..
I have one, lasts me 3+ days and don't have to swap anything.
Might not be ideal for most people, might be heavy but hey... it's perfect for me
Without a doubt, there is value in having a battery that can last 2 or 3 days. I've purchased large capacity batteries from Mugen and Seidio, and happily used them.
But, for the price paid for these batteries, I also expected to get what was advertised in terms of mAh rating. It irritates me that these companies feel that they can just print whatever inflated rating they want on these batteries and there is no consequence for them.
Heres what I've determined: High quality OEM batteries I've used in the last 4 years all have been around 1500mAh, as that seems to be the sweet spot in terms of size vs capacity for a phone manufacturer. Mugen & Seidio use cheaper cells, typically 1200mAh for the same physical dimensions as the OEM cell. From there, its simple math, 2 cells equals 2400mAh (not the 3000mAh stamped on the sticker. My guess, without even looking at a picture, is that the Mugen 4500mAh battery is a 3 cell unit with a real capacity of 3600mAh.
3600mAh is not a bad setup, I'd throw $100 for it. But I'd still be irritated.
What would be really nice is the manufacturer giving us the option of buying another cell, the stock oem battery with a replacement back that had a charge balance circuit and anything else it would need to be reliable. Known good cells, just an extra one.

Best Priced & Reliable External Battery

I recently bought a nexus 4 to replace my s2 and I was wondering what battery you guys/gals use as an external or if you've heard of any good ones that you can suggest.
I want to avoid muggen because of their terribly high prices. Looking to spend under $25 yet I don't want to order some nameless one on eBay as they're capacity is questionable.
I've Googled a bit, but I always think the best opinions come from actual consumers and not just reviewers
I bought one of these before http://ncix.com/products/?sku=80896 but it could only charge up to 30% of my phone so i returned it. I guess the output of AA's makes it less efficient in charging a phone that needs 1-2amps
Oh and I'm in canada so I would prefer prices/products that aren't USA only.
Get the ones from anker. They are pretty good. I use the Anker Astro. They come with 18 month replacement warranty so you can be pretty relaxed.

It is a BEAST!!
I think N4 can survive on it for almost a week!!!
I've been using this one for a bit and love it. I play Ingress (too much) and it usually eats about 20% of my battery in an hour. While plugged into this I not only can keep playing, but it charges roughly 5%/hour on top of that. I've had it going for more than 6 hours straight at that rate and yet to see the external go under 50%. It is a complete beast. Standby I get about 50% charge in 20 minutes using the 2A port.
http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00BQ5KHJW/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Obviously this one is a little over your $25 goal, but I'd recommend an Anker of some sort either way.
