[Q] Android Market problems- false "incompatible device" - Droid 2 Global General

I am running cyanogenmod 7.1 with the current nightly build. Everything was working great with the android market until today when all of a sudden a good amount of my apps are coming up as being incompatible with my device even though they are already installed. I thought it could be because my apps were restored with titanium, but even new apps and ones i uninstalled and re-installed are still incompatible. Most of the apps seem to be google oriented, but not all are by google and pandora isn't compatible either, however I was able to download pandora through the amazon app store. I've read about changing the dpi but i'm not sure what that is or how to do it.. Ive also cleared the market data and cache but that still did not work. Please advise

SOLVED!
Okay the solution I've found was that graphic intensive apps or more mainstream apps have strict display density parameters, so if your phone doesn't meet the requirements then they won't install. After installing a new ROM, the LCD density is sometimes set differently, so all you need to do is look up what the default LCD density setting was and reset it back to that number. You can search for "lcd density" on the market to change the number or use the built in tool in ROM Toolbox.

Keep Getting Message That Marketplace Item Is Not Compatible With My Device

Using TNT LITE 4.2 trying to install My Movies application but it won't allow me to install, says the item is not compatible with my device... how is that possible? I'm new to all this but shouldn't all android apps work on android devices? This app requires android 1.6 and up, I have 2.2. Anyone know what's going on? I tried another app and got the same message.
I only get this problem with the web based market. Running market from my device I don't experience that issue. However I do not see all available apps from the device market probably because they are filtered out. I have experienced this with several different roms. I know that a large part of the apps you see from the device market is based on the fingerprint found in the build.prop file. I am not sure what other minor settings will affect the device market. As far as the web based market I am still experimenting. You could always download the Amazon market and see if you can find the apps you are needing to install.

[Q] store apps device compatibility

I have an r800x which I cant seem to download some simple apps that shouldent have issues. very simple games like tiny tower can be installed via .apk but when searched in play store it comes up with an error. This is just one example. The "Your device isn't compatible with this version." on store is annoying when I have to go find the apk from somewhere else..
I've read about lcd density changers but I don't think its changed. I also unlocked bootloader and flashed custom kernel with custom rom a week previous to this disappearing apps in store problem. Also a friend is having same problem with his locked/rooted r800a.
In short I want to see ALL apps in the play store for every device regardless of compatibility or a way to remove the error.
Here are a couple things you can do:
-Try the app ChainFire3D. It is free but there is also a paid version which may help you more. It has an option to attempt to patch the market to show apps that may not appear for your device (again, not sure if the free version has this, but worth a shot).
-You can also try to go to Settings>Apps>All apps, then look for Google Play and wipe the cache; then try to search for apps. On another note, I once had this same exact problem. It was due me changing my screen density. I changed it back to 240, wiped Google Play data, then it worked beautifully.
- If you still have an issue, try getting an app that will allow you to change your density and try the level 240 (I think it is the same on all devices). Then wipe Play's data and try.
chainfire3d was one of the ones not compatable so I couldent download it easy from market or I would have tryed it. thx tho
I used an lcd density changer pro app to goto the 240 and that seemed to fix the problems. For some reason it was on 210. ty.

[Q] Play store access

On my triumph, i am running cm7 g60 style .09 and I am having problems accessing some of the apps on the play store. I can't even upgrade facebook because my device is not compatible but i have a previous version installed and if i install it from my sd card to the newest version, it works fine. I have had to do this for a while and it has become annoying. Is there any way that I can change the build prop so it sees my phone as a nexus device since they have full market access? I tried thunder.prop too but i have the same problem even on a fresh install.

i found out what the problem was. it was the lcd density. to keep it in a higher density but still have access, i downloaded lcd density modder pro and used the market fix option and now it works fine.

[Q] Really Odd App issue.

Alright, so when i clean install a ROM, I'm able to access King.com's apps (Candy Crush, so forth) download them no problem so on. The only changes i make to my phone from that point is changing the DPI from 480, to 420, restoring only user apps via Titanium and switching runtime to ART. And while neither change immediately effects Candy Crush and its availability on the Play store, within the next couple hours, i don't know exact cause i went to bed this most recent test, something triggers the Play Store to believe Candy Crush, and affiliate games are not compatible with my Nexus 5. I can't even pull it up within Play Store, i have to google it, and click the link directly to it on the play store, where it says im not compatible with the version.
Now i can still play the games, having the apk already on my phone, but i can't update them, or download any of the new games, and i don't know if this might be happening with more apps, just having me unaware of such an issue.
I've tried two different Roms, both Cataclysm, and Purity, and the issue has effected them both. I've even gone as far as clean wiping my entire phone, and pushing a rom back via ADB to have it clean of -everything-.
Is this a issue anyone else is having? Does anyone think it could have to deal with ART? Or is it something else that is making the Play Store believe the newest phone on the market is incapable of it's most popular game.
I think the next attempt I'm going to clean install again, and run Davlik for a day, to see if it happens again.
Change your DPI back and it should work. There is a xposed mod that always sends a fake DPI to Google play to prevent this.

[Q] Google play store not working

Hey everyone,
Title says it all really over the past few days over several devices and different users in my household we have noticed that Google play store isn't working properly, we are receiving errors, connections issues and general problems overall.
I contacted Google who didn't do much in all honesty and they advised me to clear the cache for the app on my phone and clear data on both app and googleplay services, which I have done but since doing so my okay store loads but I get the error message check you connection and try again.
I have reinstalled the app using the apk on here and still the same problem.
I'm not to worried about it as I'm pretty sure the problem lies with Google especially since its happening in several device (using different accounts and same accounts)
Is there a fix for this or is it Google causing the fault as I have searched the net and found people with similar issues. (isitdownrightnow.com)
Many thanks
Azel

Got this one solved for you mate, had the same problem.......... All to do with automatic time and date being out of sync with the play store. Go to time and date settings disable the automatic time zone and automatic time and date. change the date manually to say....the same date but 2013. go back to home, then go back to date and time settings, enable both time zone and time & date auto's, and hey presto........play store's back to normal.
happy days
What do you mean when you say "not working"? Do you get an error message? Does it simply crash/force close?
Did you do something to the devices between the Play Store working and not working? Did you change your internet setup somehow? Did you move to a different country? Did you start worshiping Lord Xenu?
Play Store needs to be a system app. You say you reinstalled it, so I'll assume your devices have root. When you sideload an app it installs as a "user" app. Play Store needs to be a system app. Use whatever app you used to uninstall it to change it to a system app (most root apps that can uninstall system apps have this feature...if what you used doesn't, you can find ones that will, some free). If this isn't the cause of your problem, we'll need more info to help you.
