Hi,
I've flashed my samsung Gio with the tutorial and rom cyanogen 7.2 RC1 on this forum.
I didn't do the a2sd part, as I felt I didn't need it and I hadn't reformated my sd card previously.
All went well and the phone seems to be working ok.
I can connect to the wifi or the data connection, and go on the internet.
But when I try to to open the market, it goes back to the desktop. When I try to open the gmail app I have a message that I don't have time to read and it goes back to the desktop aswell.
I've made a search and didn't find similar problem.
Thanks !
Some more infos :
I've flashed my phone a second time, with the Cyanogen 7.1 RC3 rom.
Same issue, I can't open the market, it goes straight back to the desktop, and can't open gmail either.
I've backed up my data with Wondershare MobileGo, and restored it afther flashing.
I didn't see the market before restoring my apps, so I couldn't try right after flashing.
I tried un-installing the market, and installing it from the apk, but had the same issue.
I've found (can't remember if it was here on another forum), that some people had the same kind of issue that was solved by switching back the language to English, but that didn't work for me (I use the french otherwise).

I know that there are tons of threads about this but none of them have helped. My market just will not work. It shows it downloading, then displays the message "Download failed" for a split second and disappears.
I have an HTC Desire (BravoC/CDMA) with the latest version of CyanogenMod 7 Nightly and ClockworkMod 2.5.0.9 for recovery. I also have Firerat's Custom MTD Partition. Details and links to all these can be found in my signature.
I feel like I've tried everything. Uninstall updates, Installed latest GApps, Installed old versions of GApps, Installed leaked versions of Gapps, cleared cache, formatted device.
This has been happening since the new market website was released. It really sucks, I can't update any apps or download any new apps.
If anyone can offer any help or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you
Try removing SD card then try again. I had the same problem with my galaxy s I removed SD card backup on PC then I formatted it put it back in and market works perfect, don't ask me why but this worked for me

a little weird thing i noticed is,if i have checked the box that allows applications to be download to the external(Apps2sd) whatever i try to download, will be resulted with Unsuccessful. When i unchecked it, my downloads were successful.
See if you have it checked.
I discovered that it was a problem with the CSC file. I had exactly the same issue with a 'mixed up' firmware. Download would not work at all from the market. Anyhow, I flashed the phone (galaxy s) with a different CSC file and the market started downloading.
the only thing I had changed was that file.
So u may want to consider that Hope this helps.
I think there is also a possibility of going to applications --> market, and then stop & clear data.
same situation here...
re-flash the rom and market won't download anything.
But it's strange that I can install apps from web market.
i know i'm at the wrong thread but could somebody help me pls with sgs gingerbread im stuck at on command where it is saying that busybox is not a valid command and thats its not recognized
Thanks for all the suggestions guys, after some time I have discovered what was causing the market issue. It was the Firerat Custom MTD Partition Mod the whole time. Apparently the new version of the market deals with downloads a little differently now and doesn't get along with Firerat's mod.
So now the waiting game begins for a new update from Firerat.
Hi,
NOt a solution, but I found a workaround for this issue on my phone.
I am using Hyperdroid GBX V8 on my HTC HD2 now. From last 2 days I was struggling with this problem. I tried all solutions I found with google. Clearning everything and Reflashing, clearing the market and caches for other apps, reflashing, unmount/mount SDCARD and so on, smaller bigger recovery partition, without EXT3/4 partition.
Still the problem exist on the phone. But I found a workaround. Logon to market.android.com using your google id and password, select the app you want to install and click install. if your phone is up and live, it will be installed in a few seconds.
In other words, pull doesnt work, but push works .
Thanks.

Hey guys long time lurked, so here is my issue.
I was changing Rom, I had bamf remix 1.4, and I wanted to try another Rom. So backed up my current Rom through cwm, downloaded tesla coil 1.5 so I did wipe and installed tesla. Everything seemed fine, now this Rom does auto recover through Google, and I saw all my apps start to download after I put my account info, so I let it do its thing and it managed to get some apps installed. Then the rest of them just got stuck at "starting download", I've seen it do that before so I usually just cancel the download an try them later 1 by 1. So when I tried to load Rom manager it would go again to starting download but, then would get a notification saying, "Download Error, Download unsuccessful, please try again".
So that's what's going on, I restored my previous back up and it is still doing the same thing. I've wiped and cleared cache . Tried virus Rom and its the same thing . The only way I can get apps through the market is if I push it through a pc on a web browser.
I have searched already, and tried clearing data on market and download manager.

My phone is currently experiencing the same issue, only with all apps. I can download apps perfectly from the browser based market though. I've searched for a good six hours and I've tried everything that has been commonly suggested and nothing's worked.
Menu>settings>applications>manage applicctions > all tab > look For market> clear defaults, clear cache etc. Clear everything. Then try to download again in the marrket.
Well I think there was a fluke with Google or something, I wiped and flashed again and now its working again. When I was still investigating the problem, I used log cat to see what was going on, and the error was an apiexception and it had http 503 error, which I believe means the link is forbidden. This all happened when I flashed tesla Rom and it was auto restoring all my apps at the same time, and I think Google blocked my account or something because of too many download requests. Looks like the block was only for 24 hours. Sorry for rambling
But market is working again

For some reason the Market did not download apps and updates anymore. All downloads simply failed ending up in paused downloads. I figured maybe a Market downgrade would fix this so I uninstalled the Market with Titanium Backup. After that I put Vending.apk (version 2.3.4) in /system/apps but for some reason the Market does not start. It doesn't show up in the app drawer either and simply clicking on vending.apk does nothing. Am I maybe missing a step here??
Maybe try with the one linked in the 2nd post on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=896312
That is what I used since my chinese stock rom did not include a real Market.
Just put the zip on the root directory of your SD card and install it from the regular recovery (power ON + volume down).
Hope it works for you.
Both the stock recovery and clockworkmod report an error in the zip file. It's in the root of the sd card. It opens fine on the pc.
*edit*
It seems that this update.zip is specifically made for the ME525.
Out of despair I decided to flash another rom (Pays 5.1). But to my surprise the problem remains! This is horrible because now I can't reinstall most of my apps. Simple things like clearing the market cache has no effect. Why doesn't the Market work as it should?
*edit*
Also tried to download apps over the mobile network but same result. Seems the ISP isn't the problem.
Have you done all the wipe setp?
Check if Data Saver is enabled.
Well after having changed nothing at all the downloads started working normally again. After doing some more online research I noticed more people had similar problems, probably due to problems with google's servers. At least it wasn't my phone although it made me flash a new Rom resulting in a now undowngradable and warranty void phone. Oh well at least it works again. Nevertheless thanks for all the suggestions!

Hi all...I hope someone can help with my problem.
Background: After my stock phone 'crashed' last week I have spent a few days on the forum's and have learnt how to fix it.... First I created a goldcard and recovered the device using a stock WWE ROM (updated device using the PB.zip method). This all seemed fine, so then decided to use enrevoked3 to root....this went fine and I ended up with rooted version of a stock WWE ROM (I think?). It wasn’t until I decided to install a custom ROM (starting with a backup) that I found I couldn’t download anything from the app market!
I thought it was unrevoked that had caused the problem so re-flashed the WWE ROM, but found I still had the same issue (an no longer a rooted device ).
After researching on the forums it looks like I’m missing the gtalk.apk which is used by the app store (does this mean the WWE ROM I have is not up to date or complete?) However, this isnt so much of a problem if you reinstall the gtalkservices.apk, but after trying 3 different apk files from 3 different threads on this subject I still am unable to download anything from the app store (the apk's wont install and just come up with an error - 'application wont install' - also I tried this on the phone when it was rooted and after I reflashed back to the WWE ROM)
Can anyone suggest how I fix this?? I dont have a stock ROM that I can flash back to and I didnt have a backup of my original ROM as I hadn't expected to need it (as before last week my phone was 02 stock).
As a thought I wonder if I re-root with unrevoked and then installed a custom ROM (not the WWE ROM I currently have, something like Cyanogen or Miui) that maybe this would solve the problem assuming the custom ROM I installed included all the relevant gtalk apk’s etc??
I have tried to find the solution without posting another thread, but none of the other threads I have read seem to cover the same issue (most of the solutions are either re-flash your previos ROM, which I cant do, or install the apk, which doesnt seem to work..)
any and all help much appreciated
apart from step 5...this seems to have worked...hope it helps someone else one day ;-)
1) go to settings>applications>manage applications>all>google services framework>clear data
2) go to settings>applications>manage applications>all>market>clear cache and force close
3) go to settings>applications>manage applications>all>market>clear cache and clear data
4) Reboot phone
5) Open and sign out of GTalk, then re-open and sign in.
6) Open Market and accept agreement. Let it load your apps. Close Market.
7) Go to market.android.com and sign in. Go to My Market Account>Settings tab>Edit>Nickname your phone and click Update.
8) Install an app from market.android.com.
Hi,
I have a xperia ray mobile phone
I rooted it yesterday with zergrush.
It was working fine then suddenly android market started crashing when I downloaded anything.
I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it still crashed.
I had a backup made earlier with titanium backup
I restored the market and still same thing.
I restored the phone to factory setting
I didn't find the android market there although it was there when I bought the phone, all the other stock apps were there.
I installed android market from an apk I found on the net.
It starts but when I want to download anything it crashes, then it keeps on crashing whenever I start it until I go to manage applications and delete it's data then it works until I start downloading anything, therefore I cannot download anything into my phone.
Can anyone help me please I just want android market to work again.
Thank you in advance
PS. After I reset to factory setting I also can't seem to connect my phone to my computer by USB or anything else
