Hey guys I got a tweak from wolfs Rom working on my x10 that increases the signal greatly. Watch the how to video here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jy0r-o1Bh9Q&feature=youtube_gdata_player
I now have over a 10000 kbps connection just like his in the video. Pretty cool.
First step unzip the file in your sd card then open the file via root explorer
Next go into system/etc/init.d and copy the modules script using root explorer.
Next go to your system on the actual phone (not the sd card) then go.to etc then find the folder called init.d. (if you dont have it flash this via recovery) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236446
Then place modules in the init folder.
Next go back to your sd card where the 4.0.4 thing is and go into system*etc and copy the entire. Install sh recovery folder then go back to the actual phone and go to.system/etc and just paste it there and select yes if it asks u to overwrite something.
Finally find the install recovery thing
you just copied and click it once and press execute.
Then your done.
How to test if it worked. Before u do the tweak download speed test from the market and test your current wifi speed. After tweak test it again. Note it may require a reboot.
Get it here. http://www.datafilehost.com/get.php?file=a18d42a6

Got it working on my x10. Thanks . Here are screenshots to prove it works. I was in the same spot before the tweak and with the tweak.

you do realize that overwriting install-recovery.sh will overwrite any other init.d scripts the person might have and also any tweaks put in there by the dev (if you are using it on any other rom than wolfbreaks)?
You shouldn't be advising people to do stuff like this without at least warning them about what they're doing.

Made a battery meter for KJ4 rom using UOT
Flash using CWM

Can someone provide newbie instructions on how to do this? Also, how did you get the date/day in your status bar?
Thank you

I have to root first
See the chainfire thread.
Then using CWM app install this.
Date/day is an app called datebar.

Thanks, but that is where I'm confused. What are the steps to use CWM to install? When I tried this my status bar went away completely.
Can you make one with the following colors?
Blue
Green
Yellow
Orange
Red
Same thing when you are charging.
Blue is highest & Red is lowest.
I never used CWM to flash, just used recovery... but I tried it and I thought everything was working but my phone rebooted and the battery meter didnt change... can someone check if my steps are right...
1. open cwm
2. click on "flash update"
3. find the file
4. once the file pops up on the top, click on that
5. press flash
phone than shows recovery menu and does something, reboots...yet battery meter hasn't changed

It should work that way too.... Basically the same.
Make sure it's not giving up any errors when it flashes.

Either CWM recovery or recovery is fine
You can also manually copy the files from the zip with Root Explorer, then reboot.
this wouldnt mess with call reception would it, maybe pure coincidence but my call right after doing this, my phone was cutting in and out...like i said, may be pure coincidence, ill find out after more calls

GT-p1000 attualmente stock 2.3.6 boju3 kernel overcome 4.0.0
so is any kernel compatible? would a kernel really help with battery life? which would you recommend? i want my battery to last as long as possible thanks!
I installed Sky Ice Cream Sandwich ROM 6.5. Looks like it comes with romracer's kernel? Linux version 2.6.35.11+ it says in CPU Spy. I don't know much about kernels yet but I've seen some posts about Da_g's kernel and Faux123's kernels working. Check out the Development section
already checked it out
i did check it out i was just wanting to hear from some first person accounts, i love it too but i just want the most out of my phone you know?
I am using da_g .42 with 178 script and had one sod today. I may need to try a slower setting by flashing the 172 script if it happens again. The faux 123 worked fine and it has a 172 or close to it, speed..I did not have an sod with it.
Delete modules folder so you won't get sod.

Working so far. Thanks. Yes, I hit the thanks button!!!!!!
Where is the "modules" folder located? May I have the file path?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA App
OK so I believe I found the "modules" folder from the "/lib" directory.
I deleted the "modules" folder using root explorer and rebooted my skyrocket. Afterwards, I checked the directory and the "modules" folder was re-created (which I assume is the norm if I'm wrong please correct me)
I hope the SoD stops from here on in...

This belongs in Q&A. Please fix yourself. That being said...
-Google how to put your device in Download Mode (set up Odin first then put in DL mode then connect device)
-read the "all in one" thread
If no luck, ENSURE your USB drivers are correct.
If no luck, go to Device Manager in Windows when your phone is plugged in. Find the USB section. Locate the "unrecognized" device. Right click, "forget." Remove phone. Uninstall USB drivers. Reinstall USB drivers. Reconnect phone.
Plz thoroughly review the all in one thread and look at all of (username) appdroid's work.
If this helped plz hit thanks. Pm me and I can walk u thru step by step.

Here's the link
Btw i'm yet to flash it.. I had a doubt..
He's mentioned in his post that I need to copy some file called "update-binary" from the .zip file i used to flash the stock ROM.. But I've flashed the stock using the .tar file!
Can I flash this thing directly?

Status 0 (I think you mean that.) is when the update-binary is wrong. It is probably for NEON-capable phones and gives 'Illegal instruction' error. Or the binary segfaults.
Do not flash zips that have not been made for our device directly. In worse cases you might get hard time to restore.
