Hi all,
running ICS on my sensation, just bought a few app today, no issues, just downloaded and installed nicely. No, i did a factory reset and installed a update for the ICS rom, and now i'm only seeing half of my paid apps under my apps in the market.
Can't search for them either. Paying for apps, and then not be able to redownload them... any advice on this ?
Presumably the missing half of your apps are flagged as incompatible with your newly flashed ROM software and are being suppressed from display.

Hello,
I've noticed a huge problem with the Android Market. This never happened when I first got my Nexus S, it just started happening. A few days ago I uninstalled Angry Birds Rio from my device and when I tried to reinstall Market wouldn't show the app. So I shrug it off and open up market.android.com on my laptop and tried to install it from there. But it didn't work. It said "This item cannot be installed in your device's country.". I live in the Maldives. I thought it had something to do with money or something and it was Rovio's (Angry Birds maker). I decided there was nothing I can do because, well, some people don't even know my country exists. But today the same thing happened again, I accidentally removed "Pulse News" app and went to the market and the same thing all over again. Didn't show up in the market app so I checked market from browser and it was there and the same message came up. Lots of apps disappearing from the market, the same message when I try to install using browser. Even when I scan QR codes to go to direct market links it doesn't work. Surely this has to be a bug of some sort?

Try clearing your data in settings>applications>manage applications>all>scroll down to market and clear data and see if that helps.
If it doesn't work there's a good chance that you really can't download it from your country.
Or
Google did say that the android market will be getting updated in the next couple of weeks and that may be causing the issue.
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk
Yeah I already did that, didn't work.
Looks like I'll have to wait and see what happens.
EDIT:
Ok this is crazy!!! I can't even install ADW! There has to be something seriously wrong!
I've had some issues with the market as well. Are you getting a download unsuccessful error. I fixed this same issue with a new password and a factory reset (I changed my password FIRST!)
Sent from a bird cage, with a swing!
Market Tech support is full of this problem :/
over half of the installed apps don't show in My Apps on the phone
many i can't install, funny thing is doubleTwist via market.android.com gives me that "your device's country" popup, while Market installs it just fine
paid apps i already bought and have on my phone are now marked as not supported and don't show on Market or in My Apps....free don't show in My Apps....meaning no updates to 25 out of 40ish apps installed
Top Paid disappeared from market.android.com....Featured on web and phone now features only 5 apps
whatever they did, they really did it badly
updates, hard resets, any changes to my phone are now not an option until this is fixed :/
This has happened recently in my country(UAE) too. Heaps of previously available FREE apps are now no longer available on the market. Bad enough I can't access paid apps now, I can't access all the best free app. Google has forced me to using this fix for this, use Market Enabler or some other SIM emulation app to trick Market into thinking you're in the US. This requires root. The non-root option is to use an alternative black market(with all the risks).
@babydoll25 no i am unable to even initiate a download.
Google really needs to fix this. A lot of apps I used to be able to install no longer show up in the market and am unable to install from the website either. I don't want to root my phone (not yet anyway) to be able to install free apps. I already tried changing my password but that didn't work and don't think a factory reset will fix it as my brother's Nexus One has the same problem. I think this started happening recently as when I first got my NS I downloaded all these apps. Now they are gone. I find no reason apps like ADW launcher should not be available globally!
Anyone know if Google responded to this issue?
I used the RUU from HTC to upgrade my rooted Inspire, and it went beautifully. Everything seemed to restore and my phone feels faster.
However... I have the old market back. That isn't as big a problem as it no longer sees all my apps from the market. I searched and searched but couldn't find the answer. Even more annoying is I swear I'd seen this problem and a solution posted somewhere recently.
Anyone?
Thanks!
I have two ideas:
1. Clear Data for the Market, I've had problems with it and this helped
2. Make sure you have Unknown Sources enabled in >Settings>applications and try to install the new market manually.
I had already cleared data/FC'd and restarted several times.
Installed latest Market, and still no love. It only shows Youtube and Maps. I downloaded something new just for grins.
When I log into my market account, it shows me as registered today but not used yet. I suspect it has something to do with this...
Is it new apps that were recently installed since the upgrade that are not seen or previous apps that were installed with previous ROM? If the apps are installed, possibly you can use Titanium backup to restore market links. Most likely other apps that will do the same.
Market doesn't see ANY apps at all! And I can't use Titanium since I'm no longer rooted.
As a side note, my kid called last night to tell me he had upgraded, and had the exact same problem. After installing the upgrade, he had old market and none of his apps showed up.
That is totally strange if you install a new app and then market fails to recognize it right off the bat. I can't recall anyone else having this issue.
Sorry, I misinterpreted your previous post.
Everything I've ever gotten from the market shows in my market account on my computer, but not in 'my apps' tab in the market on my phone. However, the apps I've now downloaded again now show in 'my apps' but still have the original download dates showing in my market account.
Very odd behavior...
You now have me quite confused too. They don't show up then they do show up? What are you missing then? The apps that you previously downloaded with the froyo ROM?

Exactly. Everything I'd previously downloaded is missing in 'my apps' although the phone and all the apps show up when I log into my market account on my PC.
Doesn't really matter much now. The last time I installed a ROM it took nearly an hour for the market to reinstall all my apps. I've manually reinstalled the 10 or so apps I actually use, and not bother with Paper Toss and Tom the Talking Cat and the other 30 or so space wasters.
Just find it odd that my kid and I, in two different cities and on two different ROMs, had the exact same experience with the market. Go figure.
This i what i had to do
This very same thing happend to me as well. If you go on your home computer or use your browser on your phone and go to the actual Market web siteand sign in you can resend all of your apps to your phone and reinstall them. Then they will show up in market on your phone again. The Market web site is marketandroid.com/apps sign in with your google acct info then click the My Library tab and chose the apps you want to reinstall. Hope this helps. let me know if it works!!!
Also when you first started your phone with the original froyo it asked whether you wanted to back your apps up in the setup. Maybe you did not have this checked. So when you ran the RUU it totally wiped your phone clean as it should. If you did have backup selected, when you installed the new ROM it should have started to install most of the apps. I have noticed it never installs all apps from the market. But it does show for me at least all the paid apps. The apps it did show for you were technically not your apps. They were system apps that were linked to the market automatically.
Also as you did start fresh make sure you have google backup in affect so it keeps track of your apps for the next time you install fresh if you ever do.
I believe the reason the apps show up online with the pc and not your phone because google thinks you uninstalled all those apps.
I just recently got the android market update to 3.3.11 and when i try to update apps or view my apps i get a fc. Just wondering if any one is having similar problems, and if there is a work around?

I'm assuming you've tried to clear data and force close market from settings -> applications?
I got the Market update this morning too and I have not had any problems.
I'm having the same problem... I posted about it twice in the Prime thread to no avail. I have cleared the Market data and also the apps data that I have had problems updating.
It's only select apps (google apps?) that seems to force close the market when trying to update them.
what phone is it? im kinda lost here...im new to this form and would like some help.
.
Yeah, i cleared the data and cache, i even did a full system wipe to try a solve but no dice. Hopefully an update is forth coming that will solve this, kinda a pain not being able to update apps.
Cold boot fixed it for me when I updated to the latest firmware
i assume you did not read the info before installed right?
it's said that 3.3.11 is not working perfectly on Honeycomb tablet's
but now you now

I assume you know that this was pushed silently and we had no choice, right?
Now you know.
I also have some problems with the new Market app. However, it seems to only force close when I select specific paid apps under My Apps. One of those apps received an update, which it luckily installed automatically, and now I can select that app again without a problem. Maybe the Market crashed on certain permission settings that they changed or something. Just an idea.
Btw, it has been tried by gnufabio to put back the previous version of the Market, but that didn't work because of how the apk's are signed or something (correct me if I'm wrong!).
On the stock Inspire ROMs, it looks like you are blocked from clearing the Market data (Settings>Applications>Market>Clear data). Also, it appears that the Market app is locked to never update past version 2.3.4.
Has anyone figured out how this is done and/or why?
I know you can side-load a newer Market APK, which will then auto-update but I'm curious why it is the way it is.
That's interesting. I see no reason why the Market would be locked on an old version, especially since Google is now changing everything to Google Play. Here's the apk if you want to do it manually.

Hi,
I recently migrated to Nexus devices. I have a Nexus 5. Recently, while I am working with my phone, the play store suddenly opens to a random (usually Korean) app. I say Korean because the dev's website ends with'.kr' and the language looks like one of the East Asian languages (I am sorry but I cannot differentiate them very well).
I notice this usually happens when I am back to my home screen.
I suspected Ads and I have downloaded Ad Away and made sure I am running the most recent updates. I even installed Ad Network Detector by Lookout and even uninstalled some apps I suspected. But it still pops up.
This issue happens also on my Nexus 7 2013 (running rooted stock 4.4 and stock kernel - Dalvik runtime). Now there is an overlap of apps but they are not exactly the same.
Please note that I am running rooted stock 4.4 with custom kernel on my Nexus 5 (ART runtime). I have not updated play store manually. Everything is as is from Google. And the play store version is 4.4.22.
One last thing, yesterday, I noticed the same type of "ads" on my wife's galaxy s2 running Jelly Bam v10. There is very little overlap in terms of apps.
This is a very annoying form of ads. Anyone experienced this? And if so, any workarounds? I am trying to avoid a factory reset if possible.
I appreciate your help.

I'm glad that I found this as the same thing has been happening on my N5.
Cataclysm, Faux and 'next' browser. Although I think it still happened in chrome. It seems to happen when I'm using a browser, the play store launches by itself to some random app.
I'd hate to think this is Google doing this to sell more crap....
it sounds like you both have a spam app installed...try Addons Detector in play store, or uninstall anything that is not absolutely reputable, and read reviews about apps

It seems to have stopped since uninstalling the latest version of 'next' browser (beta 1.3).
I noticed that the issue would almost always arise when browsing, and since going back to my previous browser if choice (Boat) it hasn't happened since.
A real shame if it's indeed the browser, it had great promise and I was going to use it as my daily... But not if they are injecting crap like this into it.
Neither lookout adwatch nor airpush detectors picked it up, so it must be stealth.
I've emailed the devs asking if they have something like this in their browser, although I'm pretty convinced since it hasn't happened once since removing it.
Update:
It's not the browser, nor the one or two games I installed.
Tried several different ad and air push detector apps but can't find the culprit.
This is truly annoying, especially as I have very few apps installed beyond the stock Google ones.
Any help appreciated.
