Hey y'all.... just got the E FUN Next2 (Android 1.5 eReader) that doesn't even have the real Android Market on there. I'd like to just simply wipe it and put a vanilla install of Android 2.1 or 2.2 whichever is fine with me. However, I can't find anyone out there who's even tried to root this bloody thing. Y'all have any helpful hints or could even point me in the right direction? Here is are the specs for the eReader http://www.nextbookusa.com/productdetail.asp?product_id=1
HELP ME, OBEWON! HELP ME!
Hey, i also just got one, I have been basically searching for the same thing you have with no luck.
I have asked at nextbookusa if they planned on having any sort of update for a newer version of droid and they said not anytime soon.
So i would like to find a way to install droid like you or im thinking of returning it for a dif one.
I second that request!
Got an E FUN Next2 as a gift and I can't leave well enough alone.
Android 1.5 just isn't cutting it! HELP!
Lets go people, thought you all would right on top of this...
I have a programming background and I'd be willing to help if I knew where to start at least.
No headway. Need help!
Ok, since this if my first Android device (received as a gift), I'm not going to give up on it! I've been reading, here on XDA and other forums, and found a ton of other information, but nothing seems to pretain to the Next2.
Found a bit of hope on a thread following the Next3 on androidtablets.net (I'm still a low level forum user, so not outside links yet.) Unfortunately, I tried running the generic root tool Universal Androot with no success (still no root access).
I'm also having trouble due to the fact that the pad has no PHYSICAL home, back, settings, etc buttons. It seems to negate a lot of the basic rooting applications out there.
I realize this tablet isn't the most amazing and spectacular device available, but it has some potential, and I'd like to see what it can do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The more and more I mess with this Next2 the more I figured I got what I paid for. The is a great unit for reading books and minor bs apps..Most of the apps will install but won't work...And most of the apps that are available are bs and have no use...lol This site is usually hot on new gadgets and help the common folk out...Please figure out how to turn this KIA into a Hyundai...lol
So you can root this with Universal Androot 1.6.2 Beta 5. This gives you perm or temp root access. I haven't seen a rom for the device though. I really want to get rid off the the extra os junk.
has anybody had anyluck with the next2?

OK I am new to this forum and new to the android world. I gotta say I was missing out BIG TIME!!! Finally got the HTC EVO and has someone flash it to MetroPCS (didn't want to pay Sprint's high prices). Anyways, that's a whole other story. I've been looking all over the net and this forum to find a solution to this annoying error but can't find one.
Also, does anyone know how to get MMS working on the MetroPCS EVO?
I attempted to root the EVO with zRoot but it didn't take after it rebooted. and after PC36IMG does its thing when my phone loads up to the home screen its stuck in unknown mode where its not rooted and its notstock. Does anyone have a solution to permanently root the EVO?
So 3 things:
1. solution to error code 67
2. How to get MMS working
3. How to permanently root EVO after flashed to Metro
Thanks everyone. I look forward to the exciting Android world ahead!
Wow, its been a while and no one is willing to help me out. Thanks guys. I really feel the love and the unity in this forum.
Hello all,
I apologize if this issue has come up before. I've tried to search for an answer and I just didn't miss it right in front of me or anything.
I just purchased a G2X from ebay. The phone arrived upgraded to stock 2.3.3. So, I read the guides in the development forum, set up the proper recovery, made a backup, and proceeded to install Cyanogenmod.
However, when I go to the Tegra Zone and try to download games, I get brought to the market where I get a message saying that the games are not compatible with my device.
Do I have to revert back to stock to get these games to work? Is this just a Cyanogenmod issue?
I get that too sometimes, don't know what's up. Running stock with root.. and 9mm says its not compatible .. supposedly.. also, with other Alps like Pano, on my G2 it shows up in the market just fine.. but with my G2x, it don't show up, but when I direct it straight from, market.android.com it shows as incompatible

Anybody having any issues with leads' rom launching games. I try launching angry birds, doodle god, among other games and they try to load and pretty quickly fail and launch me back to the games hub. Anybody else experiencing this? I would have posted this on the rom thread itself but since I'm new here they don't let me post questions on the dev threads.
i am using the same rom on my Arrive, im not having trouble with my games though.
when i was using the stock Mango rom, i sometimes had to reboot my phone after installing certain games or sometimes games just wouldn't open all the way. it would get to the title screen but then exit to the games hub.

Just saw this message. Tnx for the reply. Yeah it was an issue with xbox live on the phone. He fixed it pretty quickly after it happened. I'm trying out sianto's rom right now. I've only exclusively used lead poizons rom.

Dynamics ROM does not exist for the the CDMA variant of the HTC 7 Pro (Arrive). Keeping that in mind, this is an old post and this issue is no longer present in the current ROM. I merely wanted mention that if someone has an the Arrive, they should NOT be flashing the linked Dynamics ROM, unless they want an savvy brick to keep them company.

Yes this issue was resolved a while back and quickly. Tnx lead. I need to close this post down. I only replied because someone else was courteous enough to answer. I look forward to your next rom. I'm holding out till may before I get a new phone. Although I'm going to switch to AT&T and perhaps that Nokia Lumia made with aluminum materials. Thanks for all your heard work on the Arrive.
Hey guys, i really need your help. Hope this is the right subforum, but I thought with needed help / a question, I'm pretty ok in here.
So whats the problem... It might sound pretty easy just from the title, it actually isnt..
So what exactly I want access too?
I think you guys all know Pokemon GO... I'm from germany, so I had do take the APK. The problem about this was, my phone is a Galaxy S3, so Android 4.3 cap.
Long story short, i rooted it and flashed cyanogenmod on it, so i have 4.4.4, even changed the Kernel so it can run smooth.
And it did worked out. So the last days i was playing Pokemon go all day long and was having fun.
Now the problem:
Today, Pokemon GO came out to the Android App Store, and I want access to the regular download with updated coming in frequently, without installing every update manually (ok to be honest, I think all this took me much more time then I ever would need to download and install all future updates of this game, but I am pretty lazy)..
The App Store just tells me I dont have access to it with my device.. So I googled again for hours..
I used Market Helper and hoped I get access.. nope.. I changed the build.prop so my phone now "is a galaxy s5".. doesnt work either.. and yes, i deteled cache and files frequently, restarted the phone..
So right now I'm desperate and have no idea how to fix this problem. I hoped someone in here has had the same problem or knows how to fix it..
I'm looking forward to your help and thanks for just reading about my problem.
Cheers
I feel your pain.
Having exacty the same problem. Even tried market helper. Btw, I am running the s3 with the newest cyanogen nightly (1 week old) and Android 6.0.1.
Maybe the playstore checks for stuff like available ram, and that is the reason why it is not working. Our phone only has <1GB and the game wants phones with >2GB as far as I know.
