Tell people which rom you are using it'll get you more results. There are settings in most roms for HDMI connection though to alter between 480p to 720p and so and so on

How is your internet connection? A slow connection will give you pixelated movie, (experience from wii) Netflix, i believe streams in 480 so i don't think it will get much better.
NVIDIA NEVER AGAIN!

Im using phoenix blood.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium

Using stock and eagles blood gave me similar results.
For stock I set it to 1080 and for eb it seems to auto detect.
Anyways they both looked grainy on my 1080 60". I was just assuming they are all like that....
Anyone know y the top and bottom get cut off when I use the tv?

What video apps output via HDMI?

I don't have an adapter/micro-hdmi cable yet but I was wondering, what playback apps can output to HDMI? Can those who have the fable give them a go and share the results with the rest of us?
Posted via XDA Android app from Evo
So far only the YouTube, Gallery (Photos+Videos) can be outputted through HDMI.
Well that sucks.

Does this phone have DLNA?

Does the G2x support DLNA? If so, how do you access it?

media share and there is a place in the settings to turn on the sharing.
Does DLNA do the same as HDMI Out? For example, if I wanted to mirror my phone on tv could I do that?

No it's not quite as good as HDMI mirroring dlna is limited to the way it outputs. Your better using hdmi mirroring. You can't not mirror it like HDMI dlna is more like streaming from one device to another
differnet things

with hdmi nmirroring you can mirror your games or streaming video to the tv. dlna is limited to files on your phone.
Ah, alright guys. Do you have any recommendations for HDMI cables? I need something around 3 feet long.

U have to connect ur phone and tv to the same network, with a wireless N router, I have a G router and it's too slow. Then when playing a video (not youtube, a video file from ur memory card) then click menu our long press the video, u'll see an option play with, and u'll see the name of ur tv and select it

PS3 stream via USB

Is there anyway to stream through a ps3 via our Skyrocket. I have been unable to find an app or another way to do it. My gf doesn't have wifi so I'm trying to figure this out. I notice the ps3 recognizes our device and will open a folder called digital camera movies but doesn't recognise any video in the dcim folder. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you ever tried using a flash drive on a ps3? Same idea. You just press triangle and then click display all! I hope this helps!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using awesomesauce
Make a folder called video or music or pictures and it will see it. Feel free to google the ps3 folder syntax
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727R on Alien ICS #8
The problem with the flash drive is that it will only recognize fat32 and I didn't have one available. I still think this would be a great thing to figure out and would help a lot of us out who don't want to deal with Cinavia or the like. It might be a good work around. I tried different things with the folder syntax and couldn't find anything to work. The only thing the ps3 would recognize was that digital camera videos folder. It wouldn't recognize pics or anything else.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA
You can also reformat the USB drive to fat32 just an idea bro.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
I think either way on the ps3 once your up to date on the lastest release you have to deal with cinavia how ever its spell, its part of the os.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Yea, try using mHL adapter to hdmi, because cinavia is going to block audio, even if you just stream
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA
It would still be nice to learn some way to just stream the video from the means that we have via USB like you could do with a flash drive. I worked on it all night tonight and will continue the good fight tomorrow.

Did you try clicking triangle and display all and navigate to your movie files. You have to display all under the video menu on your ps3 xmb.

I did try. It only shows video under the Digital Camera Video folder and honestly I thought that would be DCIM but its not seeing anything in there.

I use imediashare. It let's you use your phone as a media server. I've steamed YouTube videos and torrents i've downloaded. Check it out in the play store hope it helps

Nfl Moblie + hdmi out

Does anyone know if there is a way to modify the nfl mobile apk to allow for hdmi out for live games? Every time you plug in the hdmi adapter the nfl app throws an error "hdmi/tv-out connected". Any ideas? Or possible work arounds?

I think it don't do it cause of copy rights.my buddy has the same problem.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's the reason as well. But the check for hdmi out should be somewhere in the apk, I'm looking to see if anyone has tried to modify it! Maybe we can get an apk out there that supports hdmi out!!

Though to be honest never partaken in one before. There a thread here that explains this?
There was an app for the motorola droids that I had on my bionic that allowed it. Can't remember the exact name try searching it may work.
Word of warning it looks awful on a big screen tv watchable but barely.

If you're at a bar then most likely all the games would be on the tvs anyways.

[request] netflix hd app

Does anyone know what apk or way to run HD on Netflix app? I have tried several apps that I have found on the web and they either don't run or look about the same. The stock Netflix app looks horrible I wish there was an option like on the YouTube app to turn on HD.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
HD Netflix is enabled when Netflix has a great connection to the network that you are using whether it is wifi or data. I've had crappy quality on wifi. It all depends on how great your connection is.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I'd say your both right. ..but if want to max out your quality, sign into Netflix, go into stream setting and check hq.. and watch those GB fly bye
Hope this helps ya
I've tried it with rock solid 4g and WiFi and it's always ****. Going to try the other suggestion now.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I've heard that the option on Netflix.com to stream high quality does not work for cell phones somewhere. Also I have strong 4g everywhere and it still looks pixelated when I watch Netflix. YouTube looks a lot clearer on HD.
