If you can receive but not send, go to message settings by pressing the menu key on the conversations list screen and going to settings> message [center/centre], and if that field is blank, and you are on at&t, put this number in: (don't forget the '+') '+13123149810 '

I just remember if you lose the message centre that's the easiest way to get it back. Copy/paste works there too.

If your having trouble sending messages that are over 140 words long flash a different modem that lets you. Thats the only thing that ever happen to me stopping me from messagin.

If he's running the rom that came with the phone...ie Froyo....2.2.1....and has flashed nothing then he has a factory issue....my advice...flash a rom that didn't come with the phone.....done

Since I updated to ICS (the official ICS) I can't send or receive pictures. Everything else works perfectly just that. I can send texts and receive them but when it comes to pics its a no go. If I try to send one it just says "sending" and it never sends. I've tried with with the web open and closed. Any input would be appreciated.

If it's stock ICS try factory resetting the phone, that should help.

Yea I had the same issue. Check the apn settings. If you root your phone try apn backup and restore. Read the whole thing about installing on ICS. It will work. Try backing up your gingerbread APN and restore it on ICS. Worked great for me.

Hi!
I am on Virgin mobile Canada and I was wondering why my MMS isn't working.
I recently flashed a 4.1.2 ROM and everything is going smooth except for MMS. Although, I have the proper APN settings, I still cannot receive nor send MMS.
I had an HTC Vivid before this Skyrocket (aka S2 LTE in Canada) and I remember having the same problem. Is there a fix for this?

APN issues
It has to do with your APN ( acces point names) try searching in this forum or Google it I had the same issues and all I did was delete that apn and make a new one with the right codes... It is easy to fix

try using apn back up and restore on the market. go back to the previous rom u were on, use the app to abck up that apn then go to the new rom u want and restore that one good luck there has to be something causing it not worjk

Since the JB update I don't seem to ever receive my mms messages on the stock app. Is there anything to be done about this without rooting? Will switching to a different messaging app fix it? Please and thanks

the only roms im switching between right now are GalaxyMod, and CleanRom
but cant get a photo to send to someone via messenger.
Did i skip a step? or does this sound normal that it doesnt work on these roms?

have tried on both wifi and data. it just keeps spinning "Sending"
have tried from stock Messenger app, and also from Handcent SMS

Strange, try clearing messaging data, reboot into cwm wipe caches and did permissions

just tried my restore of GalaxyMod, no luck on 4G or Wifi
HOWEVER .. i was sending my wife a pic to test. I asked her to send me a pic, and i got it ... as soon as i got hers, mine went through to her. But then the next pic i sent didnt go through.
So its like her sending me a pic opens the MMS network or something lol
Any ideas at all? Im at a complete loss

Try MMS with other people other than your wife and then do the same from her phone,that will rule out if there's any network congestion in your area.

how do you mean? I have tried sending a pic to someone else, it didnt go through. just keeps sending
what else should i do?
Send a mms to your self this should re provision your account then allow you to send to other people

I just tried on both 4G and Wifi, but it wont go through. Just keeps spinning. Damnit!
Is there another way to reprovision without going back to stock and returning to VZW?
Very interesting ... when i go to send an MMS and it doesnt go through, it just keeps spinning
if i leave it spinning and then restart the phone, it sends
but then i try to send another one and it wont go, unless i restart phone again
