[ROM] MTK6573 - HDC A66 / A9199 v1.0

HDC A66/A9199 ROM v1.0
This ROM is far from perfect, I will be updating this shortly to fix the 'account.adb' bug and the ROOT bug. Also, to get ADB working you need the MTK USB Driver (Google).
This is the Stock Android Theme.
Features
- ROOT
- Busybox
- V6 Supercharged (RAM Optimization)
- Optimized to save system space
- Tweaks to increase smoothness/performance/battery life
- Removed Chinese Bloat-ware
- Apple Boot Logo
Applications
- GO Launcher EX 2.71 BETA
- ROM Toolbox
- ROOT Explorer
- Script Manager
- Titanium Backup
THESE ARE NOT THE FULL VERSIONS, IF YOU WANT THE PAID VERSIONS BUY THEM.
How To Install
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS, IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE THAT'S YOUR FAULT.
1. Root your device using 'SuperOneClick' [LINK]
2. Copy the contents of 'CWRecovery.zip' and copy the 'custom.zip' to the root of your /sdcard/ (Mount USB via Phone)
3. Now you need to use ADB, I'm going to assume you know how to use it.
Code:
adb shell
su
/sdcard/flash_image recovery /sdcard/CW45.IMG
recovery
If you get permission denied then use 'SuperOneClick' to gain 'Shell Root'
4. You should now be in ClockWorkMod Recovery, YAY! You're going to want to use your phones Volume buttons to navigate the menu. To Enable the menus functionality you will have to press the volume keys as follows.
Code:
+ - + -
You should now see
Code:
Back menu button enabled.
5. Now to install the ROM, you probably want to wipe your Dalvik-Cache (advanced menu) before flashing it. After that scroll down to 'install zip from sdcard' and 'choose zip from sdcard'. From there select 'custom.zip' and flash it.
6. Once that has done, pick 'reboot system now' and wait for your phone to boot. (First boot might take a while)
Download
custom.zip
CWRecovery.zip

[MOD] 4 way reboot menu for GT-S7562 [Stock] [Odexed] [XXBMD2]

Hello everyone!
i admit, i have been a lurker since the start of xda
so now i decided to share a mod for GT-S7562 (samsung galaxy s duos) which i have managed after a lot of head banging.
MOD TYPE :
4 way reboot for odexed Stock Rom
Firmware Details:
Build : IMM76IS7562XXBMD2
Baseband : S7562DDBMD1
Screenshots :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2049319&stc=1&d=1371462382

+++++++++++ IMPORTANT ++++++++++++++++++
1. DONT TRY THIS IF YOU ARE UNROOTED.
2. DONT TRY THIS IF YOU DONT HAVE CUSTOM RECOVERY (cwm recovery).
3. ANYTHING CAN GO WRONG, DON'T START THE BLAME GAME.
4. NO!! I DON'T TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU MESS UP!!
5. ALWAYS MAKE A FRESH BACKUP (nandroid backup) BEFORE APPLYING ANY MOD.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Stepwise instructions:
1. Make sure you have the same baserom / build, it just might not work if you are on a different build / firmware.
2. Extract the files in attachment to c:\adb, Don't change the location because the patcher.bat is written for this location.
3. Connect your phone via usb cable and wait for the computer to recognize it.
4. Make sure you have enabled USB Debugging in developer options on the phone (Settings > Developer options > USB Debugging).
5. As a test for successful connection try and run on command prompt [c:\adb> adb shell] if its showing [[email protected]:/ $] that means connection ok.
6. Further test you have SU access by typing [[email protected]:/ $ su ] if your phone now shows [[email protected]:/ #] that means you have su working.
7. Must also have busybox installed in phone.
8. Now all set, exit adb shell su by exit.
9. On Command prompt c:\adb> type patcher.bat .
10. Phone would reboot and after booting is finished you will have 4 way reboot menu when you select restart option in power menu.
Though i have taken every care in writing this guide, if anyone want's to go further in details, reply in this thread and i might explain all the details further, or if this doesn't works for you ... well i have another script waiting for it, but i am almost certain this would work for everyone on the same firmware as mine.
best regards,
richie

ByteHero says that the .zip is infected with the following virus: Trojan.Malware.KillAV.Gen.001
Hope that it's false positive, after all, Kasperksy and Bitdefender says nothing.

How to disable Ads without Rooting (tested on Cubot X16)(may work on other phones)

When my new Cubot X16 arrived, I was quite excited. It’s a great phone I must admit. After one day of exploring, I decided to root the phone using the method described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64093232&postcount=8
However this method did not succeed on my phone, possibly because I did an OTA update to the latest firmware. After installing SuperSU, my phone boot-looped forever. So I had to remove SuperSU within TWRP using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63615067
Because I only need root to stop ads, I decided another approach without root access. And it works!
I used TWRP recovery (which also enables you to backup your phone’s ROM).
So here is the method, which may work on most MTK phones and possibly others too.
The first part is the same as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64093232&postcount=8
1) Things you need (i did it with windows 10 x64):
• TWRP recovery file from https://cloud.mail.ru/public/6AL2/3P8rxeavd
• Flash tool "SP Flash tool" (google for the latest version)
• USB Driver for Android/MTK (e.g. from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53854405) there are a few driver-packages in the file; "New inst. win 7&8x64" worked for me; maybe you have to try another one)
• A good hosts file for blocking Ads. Copied to your phone’s memory. There are many to be found. Hard to say which is the best. Watch out that it is in Unix format, not in Windows format! Some suggestions:
a. http://hosts-file.net/.\ad_servers.txt
b. http://pgl.yoyo.org/adservers/serverlist.php?hostformat=hosts&showintro=0&mimetype=plaintext
c. http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.txt
d. http://hosts-file.net/ad_servers.txt
e. https://github.com/Free-Software-for-Android/AdAway/wiki/hostssources• Backup your old /system/etc/hosts file somewhere safe, in case you need/want to restore it!
2) Install the drivers (if you have none installed!); Download the Flashtool and the recovery-file (and unzip it); Inside the zip you will find a scatter-file and revovery.img
3) Start the Flashtool as admin and go to the download window. Click at "Download-Action" and choose the file "MTK_AllInOne_Da.bin" (comes together with the flash tool). Click at "Scatter-loading" and choose "MT6735_Android_scatter.txt" from the unpacked recovery zip (Important: if you have another phone, please find the correct scatter file! You can also use Mtk_Droid_Tool_v2.5.3 to generate a scatter file for your phone). The section below should now be filled with the recovery-file, only the recovery-checkbox should be ticked (otherwise you may loose your smartphone-data)! Choose "Download only" from the dropdown-menu.
4) Connect your phone to the computer (just normal booted, no special recovery- or download-mode). Click at Download in the Flashtool. The application is now ready to install the recovery. Now reboot your phone via the normal power-menu. The Download should start automatically, when the phone reboots. When the download was completed successfully, a green snag should appear in the flash tool. You can now disconnect your phone.
5) Now let’s test your new recovery: Restart you phone holding the Power & Vol+ buttons. If you have a normal reboot while holding these buttons, you have to release them for a short period of time after the boot-screen appears. As soon as the screen lights up, you can release the buttons and you are now entering recovery (first time you have to allow the recovery to change your system at first).
6) You can now take a system backup (or more)
7) Mount the system partition (Mount and tick system)
8) Start TWRP File manager and copy the previously downloaded hosts file to /system/etc/hosts
9) Reboot normally and your phone runs Adfree
Ps. Some users report that their phone generates a “corrupted system” message while booting (not so on mine). This may be due to the fact that the system does a checksum and detect that the system partition was “tampered” (but no problem we only changed the hosts file).
Once in a while you may have to update the hosts file. Download a new hosts file and reboot in TWRP and repeat the last 3 steps above (takes only 5 minutes).
Note that a bigger hosts file may slowdown lookups, but I did not see any slowing down. As a matter of fact AdAway uses the same method of replacing the hosts-file (on a rooted phone)
Imortant: You can still use Android Pay, since your phone was not rooted! Some other apps may also refuse duty when your phone is rooted.
Ps. Alternatively, you may prefer to replace the hosts file using ADB v1.4.3 (you can find a stripped version without installing the full Android development environment at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979)
Copy the original hosts file from phone to pc:
Code:
adb pull /system/etc/hosts
Edit the hosts file, and add your own ads blocking records:
Code:
adb push hosts /system/etc/
adb shell chmod 644 /system/etc/hosts

Deodexed and install Xposed Galaxy Note3 SCL22 (SM-N900J) Stock/Lollipop 5.0 [How To]

How to Deodexed and install Xposed Samsung Galaxy Note 3 / SCL22 (SM-N900J) stock Lollipop 5.0
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll explain you step by step how to do this so please read the post very carefully.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#. Before you say "there is many threads taking about same subject" and start complaining and reporting this thread, please understand the device im taking about SCL22 (SM-N900J), this device different than AT&T or any other models. SCL22 provided by "au KDDI" one of Japanese major network provider. And KDDI specially custom made this devices from SAMSUNG, Korea only for KDDI network. There is some app's only work for stock ROM. If you install custom ROM you can't install or get register with KDDI network (ex- auMail.apk, auoneidsetting.apk,etc..) app's like auMail very important for Japanese users including me. And another there there is some system app's you can't even copy by adb (I'll talk about this later in the post). So if you are not using SCL22 in Japan register and using KDDI network, then you don't know.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before start here is some info ---------------------------
Brick -
What is brick. I guess you all seen a brick before, just a man made stone. Staying there do nothing. "Device Brick" also same. When your device get brick it's do nothing. The thing you must know, there is two kind of bricks
1. Soft brick.
2. Hard brick.
Soft brick - happens all the time, easily can happen, less dangerous. And easy to fix. (That's why everyone saying to keep a nandroid backup)
Hard brick - very dangerous, very hard to fix, some devices close to impossible to fix. But silver line is it's happens very rarely, like 2 %. And some new devices it's impossible to get hard brick. (But always be careful about what you do)
TWRP BackUp -
Keeping a recovery back up very important. If you made a mistake, flash a wrong ROM, or mod or something like that and you will get a bootloop (soft brick) then you can use the recovery back up to fix your device very easily. (Always keep a clean nandroid backup)
Odexed or Deodexed -
Odexed - faster loading of apps into memory. Each .apk has a corresponding .odex. When the application is used by either the system or the user.
Deodexed - has only the .apk file. When the application is called into memory from only pulling the data from it’s .apk, this takes longer due to not being optimized for easier retrieval from the system. (just remember ".apk and .odex compressed in to one .apk file")
This is the simplest way to know your ROM is odex or deodex-
*Download and install any Root explorer (ES File Explorer recommend and you need Rooted device)
*Open the File Explorer and navigate to /system/app
*Open any app directory
*If your ROM is Odexed you can see the .apk and .odex file in the app directory
*If you don't see any .odex file then your ROM is most likely deodexed
OK lets get started...
what you need and all the STEPS -
01. Your phone must be pre-rooted and USB debug enabled. Read this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/samsung-galaxy-note-3-scl22-au-kddi-t2964801
02. Android SDK with fastboot and ADB working properly with Google USB Driver installed (Or you can find only ADB and fast boot file .zip but i DON'T recommend that) read and download - https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb.html#WinUsbDriver
03. Turned on USB debugging in you device and connect to PC.
04. Create a new folder in your PC to keep your soon to be download system files, you can name "system" or anything you want but make sure there is NO SPACE ex- E:\system or D:\system
05. Open the adb shell (how to open the adb shell- navigate to the folder that SDK installed, open "platform-tools" folder, keyboard Shift key + Right click, click "Open command window here")
06. Now to check everything works fine run this command-
adb devices
Click to collapse

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
if you see "SH16WV8028** device" (it can be any numbers or letters for you) like above picture, then you are clear for next step. if not please make sure you installed SDK, Google latest usb drivers and also your device drivers. if it works fine then let's move to next step...
07. Now run this -
adb pull /system/app /app/
Click to collapse
It will pull all your system app's in to your PC C:\ drive (Like you will see new folder - C:\app)if you get any "permission errors" make a note witch app's need permissions.
***** For SCL22 users ONLY- when you run (adb pull /system/app /app/) if you get this error messages like - FeliCaWebPluginBoot\arm\MobileFeliCaWebPluginBoot.odex.xz': Permission denied - you need to navigate to that apps folders using ES FileExplorer and change Permission (give all Permission by clicking all check boxes) and then manually copy and paste that file to your SD card and to your PC. You also need to change Permission and copy this folders too "preloadedkiosk, preloadedsso and preloadFactoryResetOnly" to system folder in your PC.
08. Now run this -
adb pull /system/priv-app /priv-app/
Click to collapse
09. Now run this -
adb pull /system/framework /framework/
Click to collapse
10. Now run this -
adb pull /system/odex.app.sqsh
adb pull /system/odex.priv-app.sqsh
Click to collapse
If you don't have ".sqsh" then you get error. But don't worry about that continue to next step -
11. Now you will see 3 folders call "app, priv-app, framework" now copy or those folders to "system" folder before you made.
if you don't have 7-zip download and install it too - http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
12. Now you need to download and extract the - http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3268390&d=1429332195
Original form - http://forum.xda-developers.com/and.../script-app-joeldroid-lollipop-batch-t2980857
13. Now run the "JoelDroidLollipopBatchDeodexer.exe" click on Brows button and select the "system" you early create and copied app, priv-app, framework. And click on "Start process" button.
If process successfully then your apps and framework are now deodexed. One more step to do. replacing all 3 folders. Let's do that ...
14. Now download this zip file - http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3231531&d=1427457507
DO OT UNZIP it just open the zip file using 7zip and open the you will find empty system folder inside that. open it, and copy and paste app, priv-app, framework folders that deodexed. and close 7zip. Press "yes" if 7zip asked to save it.
( installer template.zip only made for wipe and replace the three system folders)
15. Copy that InstallerTemplate.zip file to your SD-Card. wipe cache, dalvik cache and install the zip file.
First time boot will take some time. So please be patient....
Hurry.! you got Deodexed ROM

Disable soft keys

Any way to disable soft keys without rooting? Immersive Mode doesn't work because it disables the keyboard.
I'm Possible

So,
Here is the way,
Note-Do it at your own risk!! I'll not be responsible for anything!!
It is not actually rooting your device...:silly:
I'll just tell you the method...
Rest you have to figure it out how to do it because I'm not an owner of Honor 8!!! , Currently my device is Lenovo A6000 Plus
Requirements:
1. PC
2. ADB Files
3. Custom Recovery ( I recommend - TWRP above 3.0 because I've done it same way on my device)
4. Unlocked Bootloader / Fastboot (You should have it)
5. One working Data Cable
6. Minimum Knowledge of editing Build Prop
7. The flashable zip in the attachment below...
8. You with your Phone!!!....
Now Let's Start... (But 1st Try to understand carefully)
1. Download the Flashable zip & put it in your PC
2. Boot your phone into Fastboot/Bootloader ( In whatever process you want - i) Manually or ii) adb reboot bootloader)
3. Now try this cmd - fastboot boot (name of the recovery).img [But before this step you must put your recovery into the adb folder]
After this wait for few seconds... you must be booted into your recovery...
4. Go to Advance > File Manager > Navigate to system > Select build.prop > copy it to where ever storage you want (I prefer internal)
5. Hope you have mtp enable in the recovery mod, if not then reboot the phone into the normal mode then send the extracted file to your pc ( You can also use es file manager/explorer but I will tell the pc method because it is more perfect)
6. Open the build.prop with notepad ++ and try this method which is given by The Hard Gamer in his "[ROM][32bit][port]OCTOS 6.0.1 for lenovo a6000/+" post
EVERYTHINGS WORKING FINE
TO DISABLE NAVBAR EDIT YOUR BUILD.PROP......
-First obviously you need be a Root user
-Backup your build.prop to your PC or anywhere (but backup it!)
-Edit build.prop with a Root Explorer using this line:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
you have to add this at the END of the .prop, save and reboot.
[FOR Marshmallow/Android 6.0]
If you're on Marshmallow (Android 6.0) the process is exactly the same, add the line at the end of the build.prop EXCEPT that you must leave 2 spaces after you added the line.
7. Put replace the build.prop file with the new edited build.prop in the flashable zip.... and put it into your root directory of internal/external storage.
8. Now repeat step 2-3.
9. Mount System, if it is already mounted then unmount it then remount it.
10. Go to install > navigate to the flashable zip > Then flash it.
11. Reboot system & Enjoy (If you Can)
Another Note :-I was here to participate in Honor 8 wining contest so, I can not exactly tell you the right process because you know (I don't own one of the amazing device)... So, If this method works then please hit like :good: & reply me with your experience... Atleast I can deserve this much..
& One important thing...
Sorry For My BAd English!!

Thanks. I was also looking for solution of this issue and your solution helped me a lot
I was looking for a method which does not involve custom recovery and unlocked bootloader, should've probably mentioned that. If I go the TWRP way then may as well root it, but then I'd lose OTA.
Don't feel comfortable doing that just yet.

I can understand what you want to say!!
But listen,
You can do the whole process without boot the phone in normal mode...
Just unlock the bootloader before the process and relock it after it...
It's that simple..
And It will automatically do a factory reset after unlocking..
My Previous phone was MMX CAnvas A1
I have done many experiments on it like these...
But At the end I still got the OTA updates... Even my SuperSu (By systemless flashable zip) is installed
And you must take some risk in your life to get better results!!
Hope you understand!!!
And press thank button if it helped!!
