I'm sorry if this has been gone over already but i did look and didnt see what i was looking for. Im looking for an app that will allow me to change what the phone does when docked or plugged in. so at night i can silence it on my nightstand or launch media player/nav when i plug it in the car etc. kinda like what it does by default with the mass storage options but with more options. Thanks for any input.

Tasker is an app that lets you do all kinds of things based on power, location, time, etc. It is very advanced, and probably more then you need - but it should do all that you want.

I second that. I have Tasker profiles set to change how the phone reacts based on whether it's plugged into my car or my desktop. I bought it almost immediately after trying it out. Very capable app.
Thanks guys. I'll try that.
Hi is there anyway to activate the deskclock dock automatically just by connecting the Phone to the charger?
I really like the idea of the Dock display, but I'm not gonna build a house of cards with a magnet just so the dock comes on automatically and I'm certainly not going to buy the darn dock thing...
Is there an app or setting I can change to that when I plug my phone to a charger, it automatically pops up?
Thanks in advance

Alarm Clock Plus app. You can select the 'Plugged in Action' in the settings.
I have been loving Tweaked 2.0 so far, but it doesn't seem to handle volume hacks right. Ages ago (maybe when I first tried Infinity?) my alarms were able to gradually increase from barely audible to full volume (if I took that long to snooze it!) but here lately the alarm comes on at the lowest notch above silent which is still too loud. Any way to bust up the alarm volume stream (or any of them for that matter) from the standard 7 steps to 20/30/100?
I'm not talking about an app that does this but a ROM where this tweak is baked in (although if there is an app that will do this compatible with Tweaked, I'm listening). dwitherell, if you're watching, please advise if this is something you could mod in your latest build. Thanks.
I use Alarm Clock Plus from the Market. It has a mode that lets you start the alarm out at a very low volume and smoothly increase the volume over a specified period of time, at which point it maxes out. It's a dock mode app as well, so if you have the desk dock, you can have it autolaunch on the dock.

Yep I got that one. I first noticed the change while using AC Xtreme then thinking it was an issue with the app, tried out AC Plus. Both apps can start at low volume but it's still not as low as I originally experienced back in the day. My query is around how much customization can be done on the volume steps themselves within the framework and if that can be built into the custom rom.
Hmm... I suppose I could look into this, but I have no real knowledge offhand for where to start (or if it's possible). You said this sort of thing worked on infinity - what build was it?

I'm not positive it was Infinity but if it was it would have been the 1211 version. I thought I could get to the audio settings menu via TSM Parts but I couldn't figure out which option corresponded to dial code *#*#197328640#*#*, found here:
http://androidforums.com/vibrant-tips-tricks/136997-secret-codes-3g-lock-built-day-time-firmware-gps-test-more.html
I may presume too much, but I am hoping that the backmenu audio settings cover all audio streams and not just in-call volume.
EDIT: I restored back to stock to try the dialer code for adjusting audio which didn't work under Tweaked. It didn't work under stock either. I then re-flashed Infinity_1211 to verify my earlier claim and... FAIL! It doesn't seem to handle the volume streams any differently. So I'm back to square one with this, until someone can confirm a dialer code for audio that actually works on the Charge.

I was going to suggest AC Xtreme but never mind. Perhaps could it have something to do with the option for the ascending ringer in TSM Parts? (Dwitherell?)
You could try this to see if it helps at all.

Thanks all for your input. I came to the conclusion that the ROMs are not to blamed, but possibly the kernel or even Gingerbread (yes I'm saying it may have been as long ago as when I was on stock Froyo). I am trying Gentle Alarm and it does what I expect volume-wise and it allows me enough customization to create all the alarms I need.
I find that the smart alarm is quite subtle but it may not be your cup of tea.
Hi! I'm running seanzscreams' SkyICS 4.2 and it makes this phone what it should have been all along! Much thanks to you!
I'm curious.. is there a way to disable screen timeout when the USB cable is plugged in? A similar thread the search engine found talked about a way to do it under settings>applications>development, but I looked there and nothing jumped out at me.
I have a handlebar cradle and a USB plug wired to the battery on my Street Glide so I can use the Navigation app or plug into the bike's stereo aux port and listen to my music. But, with the music at least, the screen eventually times out and I'd like to be able to inhibit that.
Thanks for looking and any advice you have to offer!
UPDATE: I did a little more research and it seems that this build doesn't incorporate the choice to "Stay Awake" I've read about. So I'm trying Chemdroid's Screen Timeout Toggle and I'll see how that works.
The option was there in the old leaks didn't find in at the recent sky ics. You could download an app called screen on works great.
I just tried it out on the bike and it worked great... kept the screen on. Just what the doctor ordered! So it will do until and if Sean decides to reincorporate it in a future build.
Stay cool! Peace out!
Which car dock app are you using? Why? I messed around with the app that ess installed on our phones and Car Home Ultra. Any others out there?
I've used Car Home Ultra (paid version) for a long time. It just works and has a lot of features.

How do you make that speed alarm feature work? I turned it on and my speed would flash no matter what speed I drove?
Car Home Ultra does seem to be pretty good. Seems like the de facto app for car docks.

I don't use speed alarms so I can't be of much help there.
Car Home Ultra. I have it set so when my motion activated Jabra Freeway speakerphone connects to my phone, Car Home Ultra starts automatically. Very nice app.
That would be such a great feature if I didn't prefer to stay connected to my lg tones when I get in the car. I'm thinking that an nfc tag attached to the mounting bracket can serve the purpose of automatically putting me in car home mode.
iBolt also do a car dock app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ibolt.carhome).
On my previous S4, my Carhome Ultra would take over the home button when docked, so that whenever I pressed the home button it would always take me back to Carhome Ultra. With my Note 4, this doesn't seem to be working - pressing home takes me back to my normal launcher. Is anyone experiencing this, or is this some configuration issue at my end?

Out of interest, has anyone managed to get audio working over a USB dock or cable?

There are several threads talking about this issue, look at the other car dock and desk dock threads in this forum for more info. The short answer is yes and no- it IS possible to get audio out over usb but only with an OTG cable and a DAC currently, and I don't believe you can do charging AND audio simultaneously, so no you can't just plug in one cable in your car. However, it looks like Lollipop will have support for audio out over usb built in as a standard feature, although details are slim at the moment. It's my hope that Samsung knew that the feature was getting built into Lollipop, and so they just didn't bother wasting the time on developing support for it in the Note 4 at launch because it'll be included standard once the L update rolls out. I have nothing to back this up, just my own personal hope Anyway like I said look at the other dock threads in the accessories forum, it's discussed in more length.
As for dock apps, I second the vote for iBolt Dock and Drive. I started using it on my s4 when I bought the iBolt car dock, and I've found it to be a very polished and well developed app. When I got the Note 4 I started looking for a new car dock app, tried Car Home Ultra and a few of the other ones that rate highly but I've found that at least for me the iBolt dock app is really everything I'm looking for, and the new version is even better. It's easy to use, looks great, and isn't cluttered up with useless junk. I know some people want all kinds of crazy functionality in their dock app, but I personally prefer to keep things a bit more minimal- just nice big customizable shortcuts, music controls, and simple location/speed data, and iBolt does that very well.
On the other end of the spectrum, if you're looking for something that gives a TON of info and is chock full of driving features, one of the other apps I tried was Ulysse Speedometer. It was definitely one of the better car dock apps I saw, and if they made it a little easier to get to all of the app shortcuts then I might have gone with it over iBolt. In my case though my car has a multifunction display, and I just don't need all the info that Ulysse shows on it's main screen, at least not on my daily commute. I may hold onto it just for times when I really want all the driving info, or when I just want a cool looking display to show off

I downloaded it for the first time last night and that is a user changeable setting in the app to have the home button go to Carhome Ultra.

Actually I've now got the home button to work correctly when docked. Basically did a factory reset, and started over. This seems to have resolved the issue.

Thanks, but I already tried that. Didn't help. I also used Tasker to force car mode, but didn't work either. As per my other post, I finally managed to resolve the issue with a factory reset.
I am having the same issue. Tried the setting that I posted above and it doesn't work for me. My phone may need a reset as well. I get a lot of force closes and hang ups in the settings menu.

In the description it states one click dialing, does that mean you can't use OK Google through your Bluetooth earpiece to dial a number or a contact?
Other thing that throws me off is they're only 79 reviews.
It look like there was a problem with his google account, look here
