How is it possible:
1. Sync photos between Skydrive and Windows Phone 7.5 in original resulution ?
2. How to sync MP3 files between Skydrive and Zune player in Windows Phone 7.5 ?
Thanks for help and ideas.
1) I don't think it's possible but I could be wrong.
2) Skydrive can't be used for Zune cloud storage. Microsoft wants you to stream music using Zune Pass so there would be no need to store music locally or in the cloud.

1. no sync, you can only upload via Skydrive app
2. its not possible...
MS makes strange features... Autoupload from photo app to Skydrive resizes photos to 1/4 of original size, so its unusable... There is no internet on every places, why only stream music from cloud? There are many and many stupid things in WP...
So I have two apps that I would recomend to use if you want to stream music from the cloud:
Music Cloud - Use with SoundCloud
StreamBox7 - Use with DropBox
Both apps have a free trail along with a paid version.
Hopefully this may help you out some.
it sucks that the screen resolution gets changed, i hope this problem is getting fixed by microsoft.
Ach, jo.
What I need is so simple:
1. Sync music from Skydrive to my Phone Zune\
2. Sync pictures from Skydrive to Picture Hub with Folder support.
3. Sync IE Favorites from Skydrive to IE.
4. VPN [ SSL VPN, IPSEC ]
Why first 3 areso difficult to build in ?
I must mention that the following is certainly possible and probably best amongst all mobile OSs I have used
Sync Photos between Skydrive and Picture Hub
1. Upload your photos to the SkyDrive associated with the Live ID used as the Primary Live ID of the device. You can do this either via SkyDrive app on WP or use SkyDrive website via computer (which is easier obviously).
2. You must set the folder to which you have uploaded your photos as "Photos" to make sure it syncs and shows up in Pictures Hub. Otherwise, this folder will be tagged as "Documents" or "Others" which may show up in the Office Hub but the pictures will not be recognized.

Yeah, I found it also. If you upload photo via function "share"
its uploaded to Skydrive and If I will make HW reset I can just easily
open this pictures from Skydrive, and are automatically synced to Pictures Hub via WIFI or Data connection.
It's mean that at the first time I have to connect to wifi or data connection and download the pictures and then I got it there.
But still missing SYNC IE favorites or music via Skydrive.
Is MS preparing something new for us ?

Hi,
I'm in the process of building a Server, and I still haven't decided which OS to choose. My main concern is the compatibility with my Windows Phone 7 (Htc Mozart).
These are my options:
-Windows Server 2008 R2 (Free, as I'm a student)
-Windows Home Server 2011 (Dirt cheap nowadays)
The problem is, I can't seem to find a way to access not only my media, but also my Documents on my phone.
Ideally, what I would want is a Server that would stream my Music & Video directly into my Zune Hub, show my Pictures into my Pictures Hub, and let me see my Word/Excel/PPT/PDF files on my Office Hub.
What is the best way to do this?
WHS 2011 has a connector for Music, Videos & Pictures, but nothing for documents. On the other hand, WS2008R2 has no connector, but I can install Sharepoint and have my Documents on my phone.
Phone is running Mango (Skydrive's working fine, but I want more than 25GB, and I want control over my HDD's)
(Please disregard local LAN streaming, either of the two servers can do this perfectly. The decision will be based solely on the Phone compatibiliy).
For a home server solution you can go with the official WP7 application from MS or a 3rd party one WHS Phone. With the latter I can access txt files (only ones I have to test) which open in IE for some reason. You can try contacting the dev at whsphone.com and see what he has planned for future versions.
I See that he is planning a WHS 2011 version (the current one doesn't satisfy my needs).
Also, it doesn't integrate with Zune or Picture or Office hubs... I might give it a try when it comes out.
There is some integration with the Pictures hub, you can share directly to your home server from there. Hit up the dev and see what he has in store.
I installed TVersity on my WHS2011 and installed MyMedia WP7. Works like a hose, and transcodes .mkv files on the fly.
You're not going to get any app that will integrate the songs and videos into the Zune hub, nor pictures into the Picture hub unless MS does it at the lower level to integrate with WHS. Even their current app can't do it. I wish there was a way too.

I haven't seen anything that will pull down pics into the Pictures hub. All that the MS WHS Phone app will do is allow one to upload a pic to the WHS.
Is there a way to watch videos loaded in SkyDrive on you device?
Sent from my Lumia 900 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Yeah you can. You just have to make a folder and if you're using SkyDrive.com, click on the checkbox of that folder and click on the 'Information' tab in the right column. In 'Folder Type' change it from Documents (the default) to Photos.
Now if you go to that folder in the Pictures Hub or the SkyDrive app, you should see the thumbnail for the video. But of course Windows Phone will only play the video files its supports natively, i.e. MP4 files.
Hope this works for you (it works for me!)
Awesome thanks!

Holy crap this is awesome. I have been looking for a way to control what albums / folders show up in the photo hub. This totally does this, along with the playing .mp4 benefit. Thanks!
Awesome sauce! Couldn't get it to work in the Pictures Hub at first, but somehow it did after I refreshed SkyDrive on my browser. Didn't work even after syncing my email and SkyDrive on my phone, or maybe it just happened to refresh on my phone afterwards too.
Edit// Oh right, I did try uploading a picture as well, maybe it refreshed after that.
Can't get it to work. Do you upload using the SkyDrive website or the app that was released last week. I used the app.

[UPDATE: Never mind. I had to restart the Skydrive program on my PC for some reason to get it to start the sync.]
I'm having trouble, too. I'm not sure what the correct sequence is.
I created a folder on my PC in the SkyDrive folder that was created when I installed the "app". Then I put a video file into it. I thought it would sync and create a parallel folder on the Skydrive site. Nothing happened. So I created a folder with the same name on Skydrive. The file from my PC didn't sync. I looked for a way to manually sync on both my PC and Skydrive but couldn't find any.
I also tried to drag my file to Skydrive but it complained it was more than 300k (IIRC).
Please tell me what the correct sequence is to get a new folder created on Skydrive and to sync files from my PC.
D
Only way I can get movies to play is view skydrive through the browser. Vids don't show in my pictures hub and on the skydrive app, it just gives me the vid details when I tap it.
To watch MP4 videos directly from SkyDrive, need right MP4...
Not all MP4 files are created alike, unfortunately.
My old videos are from a (gasp) Palm Pre.
Converted them to Microsoft Zune HD WMV movie format with "Any Video Converter" (freeware), and volia! I can watch them on my phone again (without taking up the space!!!)
For some reason the conversion to some of the other MP4 type files did not work as well as the WMV format for me. I don't pretend to be a videofile, but works well enough. They're not high quality vids in the first place.
Oh, and if you are having trouble with a "new folder" on your SkyDrive folder in your computer showing up online, try refreshing the SkyDrive page, or log/in out. It should pop up.
Hello, I was wondering if there is a way to transfer whole albums from my android phone (LG G4) to my Windows PC. I use Google Photos as my app for managing images and creating albums within the app, but when I connect my phone to my PC via usb, I no longer see the albums but all the images mixed up. I figured there must be an app (diferent to google photos) which will allow me to do this. Do you know any? Or any other way to do this?
Thank you!
I just use seperate folders and Syncthing, it's open source too and works really well
I'm looking for an app (or Tasker actions or similar) to sync photos made on the phone to a remote storage and resize (shrink) the local photos afterwards. I know there is the app Gallery Drive Sync that does exactly that, however it's not resyncing photos that have been deleted in Google Drive from the phone back to Google Drive. The app Google Photos (with cached remote gallery browsing that feels like local browsing) is not suitable since I cannot choose which folders to sync and I cannot use another gallery app of my choice to view the "cached remote" photos (the photos that Google Photos removes from the device to save storage space). If you have a suggestion, please let me know. Thanks!
I took a few photos the other day and they are stored in the Google Photos app/folder on the phone. But my PC doesn't 'see' that folder and says I have no pics to transfer. (yes, One Plus connected to PC USB).
Help, please.

On your PC? Open your browser, preferably Google chrome, upper right corner look for Google photos link, check if photos are synced there. You can then download it to your PC from there. If photos are not there, then check sync settings on your Google photos app on your phone. If you want to copy photos directly from your phone, you'll need to enable file sharing on your phone (check notifications) once you connect it with USB cord with the PC. Until then, phone will only charge and PC woul not be able to see any phone's folders.

The photos aren't really stored in Google Photos. Well they are, and they aren't. Google Photos just scans all the phone's folders for photos, then backs them up to the Google cloud. You technically aren't supposed to be able to access most app data over USB. Which is why you won't find the photos when browsing by USB to the Google Photos app folder.
You're using the stock camera app? Browse to the folder DCIM>Camera, and you should find the photos these. That is where the photos are saved to from the stock camera app.
