Is there any way to make the stock android keyboard work with Romanian? It doesn't have Romanian characters, no spell check, but LG keyboard, sense keyboard and all 3 party keyboards have them...

There is no Romanian stock keyboard. Google didn't bother to implement one.

I don't know if it's possible, but I'm looking for some way to get a qwerty layout on the stock Froyo IME while using the french dictionary.
I've come to like the stock IME since Froyo, even getting to the point of uninstalling the HTC IME on my N1. I love the concept of easily switching input languages by swiping across the spacebar.
Unfortunately, in Canada, typists use the QWERTY layout, even when typing in french, as opposed to users in France, who use the AZERTY layout.
I would love to get any information on to whether or not this is possible.

Is there any way to get a russian keyboard for swype? And is there a "transliterated" Russian keyboard for the stock android kb? The one that comes with the phone has the letters in completely different places than I'm used to (the transliterated one basically maps the russian characters to the closest english QWERTY equivalents)

After I have installed ICS, I cannot use any other input language with the hardware keyboard. It is always English. No matter what keyboard I select: Android (Russian), Smart Keyboard or whatever I have english letters appear on key presses. On Honeycomb I had ASUS Keyboard which allowed to switch language using Ctrl-Space combination. Now I don't have the ASUS keyboard anymore. Have anyone been successful in typing non-English on the dock keyboard?

I have already made a quick hack keyboard to produce russian characters on dock keyboard key presses and switch to english using Ctrl-Space. It should be pretty straight forward to add other european languages if some one would like me to. Chinese, Japanese and Korean is tough and I have no plans to support them.
If anyone is interested, here is the hacked by me standard ICS android keyboard, which allows to type both russian and english on Transformer's dock keyboard. Left_Ctrl+Space changes layout. All other features should work correctly - soft keyboard, voice input...

Anyone has any recommendations on keyboard that allows input of Chinese characters? I am currently on CM9 rom, using Android keyboard. Was a bit surprised to find that it doesn't support Chinese input.
Go keyboard definitely, and I'm pretty sure Swiftkey has chinese characters. My choice would be Swiftkey, but I use it for English and Arabic, no idea how it is for Chinese.
Nope, swift doesn't have. I just downloaded it from market militia to check.

1. Some stock ICS ROM (xperia, optimus 3.0, touchwiz ux) with romanian (that installs as system app)
2. A LIGHT (<2MB) keyboard on market... multiling looks bad and smart keyboard has no Romanian... any other?

That romanian keyboard is just a lite eclair keyboard, and I just can't find a keyboard with romanian support that has an acceptable size....
