[Q] Clear the notifications - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm running the latest Team EOS 4G nightly and for the life of me I can't figure out how to clear the notifications list. Can anyone help?

Ummm...tap the "x" in the bottom right after you show the notifications...

See, there's two answers. Now I don't feel so dumb.

Swipe left and clear them one by one. It's fun.

Application to clear all notifications?

For some reasons there are 2 "stubborn" notifications that simply do not go away when touching them and answering what they ask. Is there a application to remove them?

One of them is a failed Bluetooth transfer on a Wildfire.
Another is a "Traffic data disabled" notice on a Desire.
Hit the Clear button on both and they have both also been restarted. Nothing.

For those running AOKP Milestone 6...

Are you still having the reboot issue? I'm still on build 40 and having the issue and I don't want to waste my time flashing M6 if it is still an issue.....
Yes, I looked at the change log and unless I'm not looking hard enough, I couldn't find anything

Haven't had it yet. Also, I don't know if it was just me but on build 40, couldn't send mms (not sure if receiving was the same), seems to be fixed.

I thought the change log included a line mentioning Eugene's fix under the skyrocket section.
In either case, I have not yet observed any reboots, only about 3hrs of use in.

Mine does it more then it did with b40 but i think its a bad flash.
Mine originally did a random reboot with 40 but i reflashed and wiped and all that and it was fine on 40 but in reply to your question.
No reboots on Milestone6
Eugene fixed the reboots on M6 so theres nothing to worry about.
No reboots here. It also charges when off. Just no animation if that matters to anyone.

Sometimes I don't get notified of text messages (the notification sometimes comes and soon as I screen on the icon goes away). Also when I'm texting a lot and leave my keyboard up I sometimes type and text wont go in the compose message box. Its maddening.

Very stable and pretty damn fast. Between this and CM9 I can't really tell a difference in terms of stability and difference. I like AOKPs looks better, so with the unicorn I stay.

Are you talking about from the toggles menu? Noticed the same thing. Just added torch to the power menu and use it from there instead. Seems to work fine that way.

swiftkey 3 notification?

I love swiftkey but i hate that when the keyboard is out it says "select input method: swiftkey 3" as an ongoing process in the pulldown tab and puts an icon in the notification bar. Can't find anything in the swiftkey settings to disable this. Is there a fix?

I think it only says that when you're actually using the keyboard. If you hit the 'back' button, the keyboard (and notification) should go away.

yeah it does only say that when you're actually using the keyboard... my question is, is there a way to get rid of it while the keyboard is in use? It's not a deal breaker but it annoys me having that keyboard icon in the notification bar. Just wondering if there's a way to go in with an editor like how you can get rid of the ongoing wifi notification.

Just wanted to be clear, this is an intended function of ICS not any one keyboard. As far as mods to remove it, I'm honestly not sure just yet.

The "IME Switcher" is what its called, and it's a feature of ICS and JB - I know that some AOKP (such as BMc08GT's) nightlies include an option to toggle it on/off.
Actually, I just came across this post on how to do it in any ROM if you're willing to get your hands dirty editing your framework.jar file.

This is true, and it is useful if one ever wants to switch between say a Bluetooth Controller for a game and the keyboard on the fly.

Halo feature, paranoid android

What do you guys think about the new paranoid android halo feature? I think it's gonna be fantastic with PIE. The whole reason why i never switched to using PIE is because i couldn't keep track of notifactions easily.

I had the same experience with PIE. I never use it because I can't see my notifications when I turn my screen on quickly and turn it off, but Halo might solve that problem. However, I do have issues with PIE because it gives me issues with things at the very bottom of my screen like the space key. Sometimes I hit the key and it activates PIE instead of space (or whatever else I have down there are the moment).

Yes, but it creates the same issue for me. If I want to swipe the screen from right to left in an app it pulls out pie.
It's a minor issue and one I would surely get used to if I used it more, but it has still kept me from using it.
been impatiently waiting for this feature. hopefully it gets ported over to our build with the quickness. it looks great.

I know... thats why I wont use pie. Its a great feature, but it interferes with swipes. I just didn't know if you knew that you could change the trigger location.

Yeah, I too find pie more annoying than anything.
Maybe I'm just doing it wrong but I don't really see the need for pie. Maybe halo will change my mind

Me either, it makes a lot of sense on phones with on-screen softkeys, like the Nexus, but on a phone with dedicated hardware buttons like the GS3, it's totally unnecessary.

unless youre like me and dont use hardware buttons.
Ive always used pie or the navigation bar.
I hate using the buttons.
Pie is useful for shortcuts to activities or apps you use often.
Example: I may want to look at the weather or messaging app, or maybe even battery stats. But I'm in the middle of a different app. No need to close it and find the app on my home screen. I can just use pie.

I like the idea of HALO, but I haven't found a ROM yet where the blacklist function works as advertised. I'd like to have HALO not show me Tasker or Clipper (my clipboard manger), and blacklisting and whitelisting never work.
On the PIE tangent, it's nice to be able to do things like sticking in a shortcut to a Tasker task to the app drawer, so you can get to your app drawer without having to go to the home screen first. Having 2 rows available as in some ROMs gives lots of quick options.
waitting for the apk
I love the lmt launcher I hope they make halo a apk file so I can install it like lmt on my moar ROM
Could someone explain the pie feature to me? I don't get the point when we have physical buttons. It makes sense on a nexus 4 since it only has on screen buttons.

just personal preference. I just dont like using the buttons. once you get teh gestures down its quick and responsive. it also adds some real estate to the screen over the nav bar. that with halo allows for full screen use which i like.
you can turn it off in every rom ive ever used.
