[Q] Stuck in boot loop for no reason - Galaxy 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, um, I got a boot loop today for no apparent reason...
The last 2 days I had some problems with all my apps, they force closed suddenly at random times, then today, I woke up and checked my phone and the battery was almost drained, when I charged it less than 8 hours ago (and I was sleeping so it should be around 50%, not 5%). I got tired of the phone not working properly and pressed the power button until it turned off.
And now is stuck with the boot loop.
... Help? :C

[Q] How to know if your device is on bootloop?

Hi there, so i flashed a new rom using cwm, an ics rom to be in fact in my newly wiped sgs2. the boot animation is the same as galaxy nexus and has been repeating for almost 3miutes. its not like the one in stock s ii that you will really know that it is in bootloop. is it really a bootlooop or just a flashed firmware still loading up?
If it doesn't fully boot and just repeats the initial boot image or splash screen, it's a boot loop. It's in the the name...boot loop

Sorry, but I guess I should have said to try to reflashing the rom but to make sure to, in ClockworkModrecover, clear data twice - clear cache twice - go into advanced menu clear Dalvik cache twice - and if you've definitely have charged your battery to %100, go ahead and clear Battery stats twice. Then reflash your custom rom. Sometimes stuff gets left over from a previous rom and can cause boot loops or boot lockups. I didn't nt know if clearing everything twice is needed for all of them but I always do it twice for each to make sure nothings left over, I haven had a boot loop cause of that in a long time. Let me know if that helps at all.

Did you do something with your phone or did this happen all by itself?
Try flashing STOCK ROM via Odin.
Put your phone in recovery, Try wiping user data but it'll delete you contacts. If nothing happens then reflash.
Hi All,
I am facing the same issue. I upgraded my firmware from stock 2.2 to 2.3.3 GB around 6 months back and it was working fine till 2 days back. Suddenly 2 days back it started restarting itself and it ended in a boot loop. When I tried removing battery and started the phone, it semi resets the phone(like contacts and other settings getting deleted). I tried going to recovery mode and did factory reset/ Wipe cache and restarted my phone, but it was of no use. Today I tried to flash my phone with XXKPQ firware for which I flashed XXKPE first as per the guidelines given in Misledz's post. Flashing was successful, but it again ended in boot loop.
Guys, Please guide me on how to proceed with this. Its really irritating to see my phone in boot loop
Thanks a ton in advance.

I think this is a problem of psuedo reset...flash the stock firmware and take it to the service centre. They will replace the motherboard (you might even get 16GB internal memory )

Damn!! I am having the exact same problem and it also started a few days back!! Plus the phone heats up a lot during this with a massive battery drain.
I have tried hard reset, but no good so far and the phone is completely in stock condition DDKP3. Any Solutions??

It all started by itself...I am running the stock ROM only...I have tried clearing the cache and dalvik too..
Now i have flashed the recent ROM by Aditya (Titanium V3) and its having the same problem..!!
One more thing
One more thing that I have noticed is that whenever I press the home screen button after the phone is idle, the screen lights up and then the phone restarts suddenly resulting into boot loop..!!

I recently installed a rom, 4.1.2 android update.

After I recently installed someones rom. My phone will load to lg screen, then as my android is "optimizing app 1 out of 45" it shuts off and restarts, it's been doing this for half an hour now, i have it charging, i tryed unplugging it, it seems to restart quicker when unplugged. Anyone know whats up?

What rom hav u flashed ?? Did u do a clear flash??
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda app-developers app
after rom flashing did you reboot sistem or just flashed gapps an than rebooted ??
I think your problem is because of gapps, flash again and follow step by step indication from your flashed rom thread
It sounds like someone didn't do the necessary wipes before installing the rom.
or maybe is because of CWM recovery, some people had issues when wiping, and I saw some OP mentioning to do 2-3 wipes of everything
anyway, do 2-3 wipes and reflash

you must wipe data/factory reset and reflashing rom again
Are you on a custom ROM or the stock?

I am completely new to this things also i have never flashed this device its all what comes by default.. it goes in recovery mode provided by default .when i press power + volume up key... goes into android (3e) recovery
Then, unfortunately, I agree with blue_drt. A reset is probably the wisest choice. Of course all your data will be gone, but at least you'll have working Tab. I would try just resetting first to see if that fixes it, but if it doesn't, then you'll definitely need to follow blue's advice and reflash the ROM.

[Q] Stuck on Team Kang logo? Phone won't boot..

Hey! About two weeks ago I rooted my Samsung Galaxy S 4G and installed "Valhalla Final" Gingerbread 2.3.6. Everything has been great until today :crying:... I was talking on the phone and the battery went dead, I got home and charged it then tried to turn it back on. When I did it started to boot up and then got stuck on the "Team Kang" unicorn animation. I'm a noob and not sure what to do? I have tried removing the battery, etc. and still same result. HELP!! What should I do?? Thanks in advance...
Try doing a factory reset in recovery.
To get to recovery:
pull out your phone's battery
put the battery back in
hold BOTH volume keys and do NOT let go of them
Press the power button long enough for the phone to turn on
Once you are in recovery you can let go of the volume keys
What I ended up doing was going to recovery mode, wiping the cache and then flashed the same rom again.. Question is what would have made it do this to begin with? Is there a problem with this rom that im not aware of? After I did the above it now works fine other than having to go through and redo apps, etc..

There is no problem with the rom, if you wipe cache before upgrading. I usually wipe dalvik as well. Wipe factory if you are coming from a different rom.
I do the previous three for each rom I use, on any phone I own. I don't always trust that the developer wrote in the updater-script to attempt to wipe cache & dalvik when flashing.
