Hello i tried many times to backup my standard ROM, with ClockWork Recovery, when i tried Backup Current ROM with Rom manager 4.8.0.7 the phone boot up with Android out the box and then i get a error een triangle with a cross on it.
My phone a Samsung Galaxy S plus is rooted with Root-i9001-Signed.
Please help me. I like to change to another ROM, but first a i like to backup my old ROM incase of.
ROM Manager sometimes doesn't like the CWM version you have on your phone. Do a nandroid backup by booting your phone into recovery, select backup and restore>backup.
I'm afraid I don't know the button combo to get into recovery for your phone but I'm sure a search of the relevant thread will tell you.
I try that also, in recovery mode, but the term backup of restore didn't show up.
only boot, foto install and update from zip file, wipe chache

I have a updated g2x (gingerbread via Lg updater) installed NVflasher was able to boot into recovery performed a nandroid back up did a full wipe and was going to flash Xbroarders rom until i relized i put it on my internal instead of external so i then tried to flash my back up and got "no file found"did a reboot and all im getting is a black screen wit flashing keys. plz help
Try reflashing Clockwork Mod Recovery.
Sent from my LG G2X using XDA Premium for Android
Do that, and if you have the means, try to check out the external sd on some other device to see what's going on. I'd start with pulling the battery for a bit and try flashing the backup again.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong but if you didn't flash anything because of misfiling xboarder's rom, there was no reason to use the backup in the first place.

Where did you put your nandroid - internal or external SD? They would have been determined by the recovery option you chose - Internal or External SD. Your stock ROM would download the Xboarder ROM to internal in any case, but your nandroid location depends on the choice above.
Since you did a total wipe, you do not have a ROM installed, so you will not be able to boot up, but you DO NOT have a brick.
You could flash the Recovery again with the Oneclick Recovery tool and choose internal, and then you could flash the Xboarder ROM. After that, see if you can find your backup (in the clockworkmod folder).

I didn't know that a wipe from cwm clears out the rom. I only ever wiped before flashing something else so I assumed it was more like a factory reset.

As far as I know, the wipe data/factory reset is exactly that.
There's also a wipe system function, which wipes the entire ROM also. It seems he did that also.
As for fixing the phone, what gaww said haha. If xboarder's mod isn't there, then in recovery while the phone is plugged in, mount the sd card, and put a rom on there using windows explorer or whatever, then disconnect and you should be able to flash it.

Boot into recovery, go down to mount, and mount usb. Then find the file on your internal sd and move it over to the external sdcard. I have had to do that a few times when I forgot to move the file.
Was trying to flash the ICS ROM V5 but it got stuck on the boot animation. I did a factory reset, surprisingly it was still there. So i used "Team Win Recovery Project" aka "twrp-crespo-2[DOT]0[DOT]0RC0[DOT]img" in nexusshacks.com. I went in there to do a factory reset but i wiped the ACTUAL system instead. So when i reboot i am stuck on Google. Unfortunely i only had 1 back up which is in ClockworkMod, but i cant access that. I dont mind my lost files because i can recover that but i want my phone to work again. Can i copy the nexus s contents from another nexus s and place it in my SD and will it work? If you guys have ideas please do reply because i need my phone fixed asap. Bootloader unlocked and rooted using superuser.

okay,am not very familiar with TWRP but your problem doesn't seem that big,you wiped the /system which should not affect your USB storage data (even if you wiped the USB storage it's not a problem),try to boot into the bootloader (volume up + power button) then go to recovery, mount the USB storage and put a ROM on it,then just flash the ROM and your device should boot up normally,i think you weren't stuck at the bootanimation since when you flash a new ROM the first boot could take from 5 to 10 minutes.
i usually do a clean install before flashing a new ROM (format system, data, cache, boot) and the device just boot up normally after flashing the new ROM so it's not a problem if you wiped your system just flash a new ROM.

I did this same thing a few weeks ago. I just had to reinstall everything (including the recovery) from fastboot. Worked like a charm.
I used the nexusshack tut to root my nexus had no problems.
You could go into recovery, mount usb storage, find the clockworkmod directory and copy that to your pc..
do a full data wipe and flash a new rom, then install rom manager flash CWM recovery . move the clockworkmod directory back to your phone. boot into recovery and restore you backup.
Just an idea .. not sure if it could work..(take no responsibility is it doesnt)
Hi everybody,
I rooted my nexus s via the unlockr.com, I was running CyanogenMod on my phone when i decided to go back to the stock rom, I installed the stock rom via the rom-manager app and when i did, my phone wouldn't connect to tmobile network and then when i went to recovery mode on my phone to recover a backup file, i get the android mascot laying down with an open stomach, but with a ! mark in a triangle.
Im stuck on what to do now
Anybody have ideas on what i should do?
Right dude, the reason u got the android logo with an exclamation mark when u tried to recover your backup is because flashing stock rom will delete any custom recovery you had on ur phone (eg. clockworkmod recovery) and reinstall the stock recovery, and the stock recovery cant restore the backup u made, only the custom recovery can.
Since your pretty fond of how to root ur phone using the unlockr guide, just repeat the step where u flashed clockwork recovery using cmd, and then use ur phone to select recovery (to get to clockwork) and then restore the backup you made. make sure that backup ur gnna restore isnt the one that will delete ur custom recovery again (saves u having to flash it again using ur usb cable and cmd again) otherwise try flashing any brand new rom you would like, whether it be gingerbread, ics or jelly bean.
Oh and make sure u select: wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik cache (in advanced settings) before restoring ur backup or flashing a new rom. Dnt worry my phone has this problem not connecting to t-mobile too sometimes, its either an uncleanly installed rom, or u simply gotta go into the settings and select the search for networks option, wait a while and select t-mobile from the list. it happened a lot with cm7, never with ics or jellybean tho . .
How to nandroid tab 21
Hello
Is there a way to create a nandroid backup , but that will also backup stock recovery?
or is there a way to backup only stock recovery somehow?
Thanks
And why would you backup stock recovery? You create a nandroid backup, and then u use recovery to restore your system from that backup. You need recovery on your device, if it's not there, you won't revover anything. That means that you couldn't recover recovery without having recovery, so making s backup of recovery is pointless.
Anyway, if something goes wrong, you can always flash stock via Odin, and that will also give you stock recovery. Unless, of course, you brick the device by, for example, flashing the wrong firmware.
And as to how to make a nandroid backup, get yourself a CWM recovery, boot into it and in the options you will find backup and restore.
And please use the search button, as all this info is very easy to find on xda.
