You mean this?

Is the call recording app already baked in? Which call recording app works best with it?
Also, it says in first post that ROM breaks video camera.
Well, the MIUI is still unusable because of the bluetooth and the camera issues.
Is there any other solution?

What kind of results do you get with Total Recall?

I am corresponding with the developer and they say my problem is not widespread.
Do you mean "Call Recoder Demo" by Killer Mobile?

Only bricked kernel supports 2 way recording. On ICS the 1.5 kernel also.

Yes, then if it works for you you can buy the full version. Demo is 10 days full functionality I think

Killer Mobile Call recorder worked with an HTC kernal with insertcoin ROM except I have recording files that won't stop no matter which ROM and kernal. If someone gets it working I would like to hear their configuration.

Killer Mobile Total Recall doing 2 way on Android Revolution HD 3.6.11 with its supplied Faux kernal, but it don't close the recording files until I kill it in task manager.
I am using DSoft Call Recorder (free on the Market) on my HTC Sensation with Android Revolution HD 3.6.11 ROM and it produces decent recordings of both sides of the conversation. (This ROM comes with faux kernel)
I am finding issues with file names and program stability.
1) Program crashed on first time I dialed out after installing and starting service, until I created the folder to hold recordings, which did not exist.
2) File names are based on the last incoming call's phone number and time. Files get overwritten when same file name is used twice, eg if I record two outgoing calls one after the other.
3) If I reboot phone, program crashes when trying to start recording of outgoing call. Once phone receives an incoming call it became OK. It's like the program can't form a file name at all and crashes if there wasn't an incoming call.
For purposes of above, missed calls seem to count as incoming calls.
It seems the problems are in the code to decide the file name to use when starting a recording.
Anyone getting good results out of any call recorder, or are they all buggy trashware?

Hello,
I have tried several call recorders but none records call from line. Most of the call recorders record from speaker, not from the line..
Can anyone suggest the best call recorder which actually works good?

Its can be use on DDKP3
Ur rom must deodex..
As stated last year Call recording is natively supported on all Chinese rom hence I have now shifted to ZCKPL where recording from line is supported via stock dialer & 2 way recording perfectly clear but 3rd party recording apps which automate call recording for specific contact none of them work for some strange reason. If I find any app which works I will update this thread.
After testing many apps which failed to record 2 way calls on i9003 I finally found
galaxy call recorder which works perfectly & has so many options to customize the recording & to upload files for back on gdrive/dropbox.
I have not tested this on India stock roms but I guess it wont work as call recording is disabled on most roms except Chinese rom which is what I installed ZCKPL

Using stock with the SGS4G I can record directly from the line and get 2-way call recording which is legal in my state. Nice to be able to go over my business calls when I am driving and don't have a pc or pen handy. I installed a ics rom and now I lost call recording with any program in the market or a custom one I have. I heard it is a rom/kernel issue. Does anyone know of a working rom with call recording enabled? Thanks
@seedpws
Why don't you just try an app? There are tons free in the market.
Check this one out and there are more.

I am trying an app. cynogen9 does not allow this apps to work. I need a different kernel for this to work. I was asking if anyone knew of any roms/kernels that allow this to work.
Can anyone point me to a Call recording app that can be used via phone line not speaker/hands free mode.
Ive tried "Call Recorder" and "Auto Call Recorder", both only record my end of the conversion. From what ive read from reviews of those two previously mentioned, the One S seems to have problems with some of these functions.
Thanks
That's funny... I am trying to get one to work myself and its fail.. I came to xda for help and this was newest post Lol
Add 'total recall' to the list too. I tried everything, and all it does is save 0 byte files regardless of format. Using a cm10 ROM

It seems we need a kernal that supports Inline call recording... I looked, and don't immediately see a kernal that supports it. It seems to be in 'future features' in the bubba kernal..
I found this post from a russian site where they talk about a patch for the HOS kernal to allow it...
http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=263718&st=2880#entry14545662
It says patch is not needed for CallRecorder 1.3 and up, but you tested and it didn't work?

You're in XDA-Developers... probably a safe assumption we all have root here
I tried that call recorder app, would not do in line recording. Again, I think we need kernal support. I'm not that sick at kernals, so we gotta start begging dev's to implement that patch into their kernal

Hello, colleagues!
I'm fully novice in Android modifications, so this huge informations make me stupid
So I've rebuilt my Sensation to last Cyanogen Mod (last one complete set from Sultanxda at 08.02 with full format) from the blocked stock (so I think I'm not fully stupid already ). Practically everything is good however I have problems with voice recording. I've read many forums and infos about system restrictions but now I've tried about 30-40 (!!!) programs and no one has recorded even one byte of the voice information!!! So I can conclude something wrong and this something is placed not in programs. I need the recording not from microphone (due to nogood voice recognition) but record from the line but any setting can perform this.
Please share me your experience for successful call recording (incoming and outgoing) and what could be my mistake with recording software installation and configuring?
Best regards!
Sergey

Thank you, colleague for great information
What software is used for call recording? Are you really writing for voice from the line via kernel?

Many thanks! Good software.
I've just (a half-hour ago) achieved my voice recording works with this program. However I've spent a lot of time and I've tried all of possible variants of setting. So this program works now to record via kernel to AMR format (without AMR-driver).

I take part in local forum where this software developer works as well, yesterday new beta version has been started. This is very good already with many bugs solved. I think new official one could be quickly released.
Just wanted to give my review for the Automatic Call Recorder App which I have been using for a while now and absolutely love it!
So the app loads as soon as you make an outgoing call or accept an incoming call. You have multiple file formats to save the calls from mp3 to 3gp there's a good few more options. The UI is very simple to use and you can track back over a lot of phone calls. I recommend to use at least a 32gb memory so you can as calls that happened a while ago. If you want to hear a particular call, just find it from the call log in the app and simply press the play button. The sound quality is great and there has never been any distortion on playback. If you wanted to share the call recording then you are able to with a simple one click on the share button. I have installed this app on all my family members phones and they love it too. The "recent calls" and "frequent calls" drop down so you can easily see the list of the call logs made. There are a lot of additional features in the settings and all user friendly for anyone to get set up on. The "Memory Info" shows how much free memory you have left and converts this into how long you can record based on the free space left so there is no hidden tabs you need to go to in order to find out the important information. I definitely recommend this app to anyone who wants to have their phone calls recorded, well worth the money and very stable - not once has the app ever crashed on me. 10/10 rating.
Here is a link to the app from the market store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.globaleffect.callrecord
Here is a screenshot of how the UI looks like:

Not work me correctly
Hi, I have a P8 lite with the version of android 6.0.1 (b574 stock) and the application does not work me correctly, it almost does not listen and it does not record all the calls. When I had Lollipop 5.0.1 it worked very well and a very good sound.
What can I do to make it work just as well as before, but in 6.0.1?
I need help please. Thank you very much.
Regards
I use AndroRec Free Call Recorder instead.
It's completely free, completely offline, no trial, no ads, no analytics, no IAP, no recording limitations. Developer is from India. Last update is 10 Jul 2016. It supports Android Marshmallow. It's very lightweight too, taking only 844 kb in my device. No running in background.

With ACR I think you can only exclude certain callers from being recorded, rather excluding every call except ones that you specify
