I am currently using Cyanogen Mod 7 and realizing that I don't like it @ all. The camera is pretty much ****. And it cuts out sound a lot. And I'm kinda feining to go back to sense. So i wanna know if there are any good and worthy Sense 3.5 2.3.5 roms or a 100% AOSP rom, Fast, battery efficient, themed would be nice, over clocked, and all the other goodies.

Me, too. But I'm finding 4.1.3 a bit laggy. Wondering if Insertcoin would be better, and I'm trying to find out what the differences are, but info seems scarce. The advice seems to be: "test it and see for yourself".
like eddyOS said, its subjective.
you need to try out the different roms to find what you like.
i tried practically all the roms, almost all gave me this same problem (mobile internet not working and bad signals) until i found a few and went on trying and testing it and got the one that suits me.
What works for me may not work for you.... and besides, though we have same phone, our experience with the ROMs here is unique with each other...
if you ask me, my bet would be Baad (IC), Mike (ARHD), and Ctdroid's work (no offense to other devs) .... Reason? i dont have problems migrating back and forth with those ROM's + great support from the respective teams... If you want SENSEless, check Melvin and Xboarder56's work...

Stock rooted sense 3.5. See EddyOS's rom in development section.
i am using InsertCoin now ... fast and smooth so far ( juz flashed 2 hrs ago ).
The HTC amaze cam is wicked !
i can feel that it is smoother than my previous bulletproof ( althou it comes with a good tweak option ).
Sense is ****. Try MIUI camera if you don't like the CM7 one. You should stick with CM7 rom though, it's the best.

And because YOU think stock android is "****ty and boring" as quoted in another post of yours, that means it is? Pot calling the kettle black bro.
No, just cause I call it **** doesn't mean I'm right. I've never said I am. BUT I'm saying you're wrong to call a ROM 'the best' as there's no such thing. The 'best' ROM is whatever the user thinks it is.
I use MY own ROM the I'VE cooked as, for me, it's the best as it doesn't EXACTLY what I want it to.
All I'm trying to get across is the OP is going to have to try different ROMs and make up their own mind. I'd say that it's worth trying CM7 but I cannot live without the Sense widgets and the general smoothness of Sense. CM7 just isn't as nice in MY eyes, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder
---------- Post added at 04:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:55 PM ----------
Also meant to add, once CM7 is out of alpha/beta I'll probably give it a go again and see if it's better than last time I used it. I'm quite looking forward to a proper, official MIUI release as I quite like that
CM7 should be good once it actually comes out of Alpha...I hope. Loved it on my N1. Still having problems though...but it is alpha.

Ive been flashing since the first roms were around on the G1. I like to check out every rom offered for my phone and as of now im back on sense (just like the widgets). But like anyone will tell you there is no "best" updates from all our great devs come out daily.
After testing a lot (if not all) roms on sensation, I found Synergy's latest r85 to be top dawg at the moment. Heres my setup, no problems at all so far its fast, stable, and battery life is great
Flashed in this order:
Rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193089
Kernel (flashed recommended 1.2 and then cam fix right after): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1256668
Im on 10.14 radio cause it seems to give me best data/batter life, its also what synergy devs are using.
lemme kno what you think
u have to find it out by your own..
but i really recommend S3N5EaY v1.6.0 - 2.3.5 / 3.5 sense..
i know CM7 - revolution hd and some others.. have to flash my phone 2128238 times a week lol ..
S3N5EaY is fully stable, fast and sensational of battery.
let me know what u thinkin about it
Well if cm7 alpha isn't floating your boat that's understandable. It isn't fully released yet anyway right? But if you want a fully operational sense rom that feels like a cm/aosp then you should try the beastrom-sv4. Everything works and it's light and snappy. Not as snappy as cm7Alpha 8 but then again it's sense base 2.3.5 now I believe. Just don't install the themes for it as they are not updated to the new base (still set for the 2.3.4).
Although I'm a fairly devoted Cyanogenmod user, I have to admit the Sense 3.5 based roms are quite snappy. Still not quite as snappy as Cyanogenmod but certainly an improvement over Sense 3.0.
I don't think there is a hang of a lot of difference between the roms though. Inspite of claims made by some that xyz ROM is the fastest, has the best battery life, or whatever I've never noticed a difference apart from the odd tweak here and there. These days if one dev comes up with something really cool it ends up in all the other roms within a week anyway. Each ROM does have it's own distinct favour though depending on who cooked it.

Wicked fast, extremely stable and lots of friendly support.
I am on InsertCoin at the moment, it is a great ROM. More or less stock, but with reasonable featers as Amaze camera.
LeeeDroid is also great, but it is a bit out of date, I hope Lee upgrades soon when he is back.

I'll be more specific.
Looking for a cool room which is stable.
A room which differs from the regular Android and sense ( Wp7 , ics , etc. )
You can't get much more different from Sense than using an AOSP ROM.
Cyanogen is one, although it has stalled while they work on ICS. I like MIUI and the Galnet one seems particularly sweet and stable. I use mine for work as well as personal and don't seem to have any problems. The most customisable of any ROM and some of the lock-screens make you keep waking the phone up just coz they are so damn good to look at or show off.

I tried it one month ago looking for an ics rom but i did not enjoy it so I reverted to my endymion 3.4 backup (which i think it's still fantastic!).
In fallout I didn't find a way to disable battery %, it lacks some htc widgets and lockscreen (i really like the one with weather)
But beside this, it's really smooth.
now i'm on ics 4.1 which seems to be good.

Yeah I'm a huge fan of lowveld's roms, started on Hyperion then Endymion, now on Fallout. Just looking forward to a custom kernel for it
Hi guys. I want to know which is the best ROM for daily use ? My gf has a Desire S and the light sensor doesn't work properly during a call so it's very easy to accidentally touch the 'mute' button (or any button).
Anyway, as I am not a Desire S owner I don't really know which ROM is the most stable and battery friendly.
Thanks.
LE: Sorry for the wrong section, I didn't see the 'Q and A' section on the main page so I thought it doesn't exist at all
Hi mate,
Obviously it's a bit subjective, but I really don't think you can beat lowveld's Endymion 3.3 ROM. It's still htc sense so your girlfriend won't have to get used to a new UI, only a more updated one! I've tried everything else and I'm always back to it!
It's very stable, I've never once had any problems. Battery life is the best of any ROMs I've tried too, I get nearly 2 days of moderate/heavy usage.
But the ROM requires any partition layout (on my Desire I have 1GB ext4 on my SD card for apps) ?
I think the best ROM for Saga is Endymion.
It is very stable and best thing is that the support thread is amazing.
Not jus the developer, but also the users are so knowledgeable and helpful. It's almost like a professional support center team!!
I like Endymion too...
But i also like CM7, becuause it is much faster!
Take oxygen Rom rock solid
Best Sense-Roms (for me): Endymion and Coredroid
My choice atm Reaper 1.2 (CM7.2 based) with an older version of zeam-launcher (for scrollable widgets). Fastest/Smoothest Rom i every used, no problems noticed and the battery last longer than on other Roms.
Depends on what your gf wants. If she just wants a rom with everything straight out of the box, it's better to pick a Sense-based rom. If she likes customizing, pick CM. And if she want an iOS feel for her Desire S, pick Miui.
The problem with the light sensor doesn't sound good. You should download an app to check the values of the light sensor. You might need to send the Desire S for repair. Better wait with flashing a new rom.
For me best room is ICS.
With sense 3.5 and android 2.3.5 (ics Virtuous Quattro RC1 is almost but not enough ready for me), i prefer RunnyDrOiD By PVTEAM
Thanks guys. My gf is not a ROM freak so she doesn't want to flash new updates for her ROM every day... so I'll stick to Sense 3.5. ATM I'm downloading Endymion V3.3 ROM and hopefully it'll work like a charm . I'll post here after I flash it...
CM 7 Room
I wanna try the CM 7 Room.. wich is the best? with no bugs or problems
Check out lowveld's "Reaper" ROM, it's based on CyanogenMod but with a number of tweaks.
I switched to it yesterday out of boredom, and I'm amazed by it, it's superfast, I've had zero FC's, and best of all it has lowveld's seal of quality so you know the support is top notch!
Check it out in the development thread.
Cm7 is super fast and has a great battery life but u won't have all the sense features, so It's up to u. I'm running on endymion 3.3 and i like it very much. Think I'm gonna wait for a stable ics Rom before shifting.
Cheers

+1.
I like Endymion because of HTC Sense and its functionality.
But I love CM7 due to its legendary performance.
Its up to your GF. But you should note, the smaller font size on Endymion does take quite a while to get used to!

I have been following miui for long time and looks like miui.us is a shame, there's not changes on the new roms every Friday every time the miui.us is worst, a lot of bugs and they don't fix what they suppose to fix, I don't use it anymore, I used before from miui.cn and worked better but then they decided to move the rom to miui.us. and the bugs started, please don't b a shame for miui.cn if you guys from miui.us don't have time or don't know how improve the rom please stop doing it and let someone else do it!!!

Best I can say for you is to stop using MIUI. In my opinion, it's a nice but it lacks the full compatibilities that my stock rom has. With that being said, what kind of phone do you have?
Htc sensation 4g
And yes I stopped using miui rom cuz them!!!
Yeah, I have the same phone. If there is anything you should try, it's MegaDroid ICS. Sadly, Skype is still not completely functional with ICS but I'm positive there will be an update. Click here for MegaDroid. It's very stable and I am using it right now. It's quite beautiful if you ask me.
Miui still has some kinks to figure out before they are fully usable on ics, its disappointing, come cyagenmod

V.I. is not bogged down by Sense. It's speed differences versus AOSP/AOKP are minute.
However, OP was asking for OpenSensation or CM9. I would choose OpenSensation. CM9 with added features.

There are some benefits. Everything works perfectly, wifi, bluetooth, etc etc. The camera is way, way better as well.
I think it depends on which bugs you're willing to tolerate. VI is very stable, but the notification wouldn't work for my exchange account, which is somewhat due to the email app not having the option to force it, and the Gallery app doesn't sync with Picassa. But everything else works, including MHL, and the SebastienFM kernel makes it a little faster than Opensensation. For me, Opensensation has gradually improved, although updates sometimes break previously working elements. MHL is not working as of the most recent release, the camera used to stop working randomly (seems okay in the July build), and I find the launcher a little less smooth. Although the remnants of Sense make the VI bigger, it's not bogged down by any means, in my experience.
Senso-o-maniac website has some nice collection of sensation roms, sense and senseless. Go check it out. Www.senseomaniac.mobi.
