Hey, I was wondering if anyone uses their Fire as a day planner of sorts... I use mine for notes and stuff already and was wondering if anyone knows of a useful calendar app that would sync between my Kindle and my phone.. Also, my notes don't sync either, so if you know of an app that does that, it would be a bonus!
Thanks in advance!
By the way, I'm rooted, but running stock, but do have regular market

I use cozi on my KF, Blackberry, and computer. They all sync together immediately when a change is made. I sync my college calendar and my daughters school calender into it as well. My wife uses it on her phone and computer also so we both know each others schedules. She works first shift and i work second plus going to college so its been perfect for us. It has calendar, to do lists, and shopping lists. I used to forget to tell her to pick something up at the store when she went shopping. Now i just put it on cozi when i think of it and she sees it on her phone when she goes. There is a free with ads version and a paid with no ads version. You can download it on amazon for the KF and at their website for your phone and computer.

Okay so Ive Been an iPhone user for the las 3 years and jump ship to the Captivate for something new. I'm having trouble getting my email I had from iPhone (yahoo). So is there a place to learn how to get the following things?
1. Email
2. iTunes music I have
3. Pictures
4. Digital copy movies
Thanks !!!
I, too, have come from the iphone and had trouble with my yahoo mail account. The information in this thread works fine for me.

(replace ** with "tt")
The above said link tells the same thing. Basically the default email client works with yahoo only on att network. And it will not work on any other network including our wifi. Best thing is to move to Gmail. That is what I am thinking to do because it works on every platform, you can do imap, pop3, web you name it. So ditch yahoo it makes life easy

Email
I'm sorry !my email is from verizon.net but on my iPhone on settings was under yahoo. Really confused
For music it not hard as itunes. Simply copy the songs to the SD card that's it. Just make sure you have proper properties are set on the files.
Same with photos and movies, just copy on the SD card.
Its very very simple not like sick iTunes.

But forgot to write that the same account was fetching emails perfectly on my phone even there is no sim in it. I think yahoo has some dealings with apple and att that's why those work fine on those. I am really surprised yahoo behaving as it's still going to live more so simply ditch.

If you have drm'ed itunes music then you can't use it.
There is a program for iTunes for android. I don't remember but I Google it and it came up. Really nifty program. I had my music setup in tunes and didn't feel like dragging and creating folders and such. The music player on captivate is pretty nice. I start using it as my music player now.

DoubleTwist and MediaMonkey will sync music to your phone. Also Samsung has their own app: Kies.
As for your email - if verizon.net is your email then setup a new email account on the phone using the Verizon settings. No one can tell you why you have Yahoo and VZW combined on the iPhone - there is no love between the 2. AT&T has a relationship with Yahoo.
I find that drag and drop of movies and music is easiest. DoubleTwist failed for me, MediaMonkey only does music, and Kies is slow.
As mentioned above, if any of your music is DRM protected, you will only ever be able to play it on iSomething.
If you want to sync music, pics and photos you can use songbird. You can export your play lists as. M3u? And songbird will easily recognize everything. PM if you want help setting it up.

K-9 Mail works better than the OG email client and works great with mobile me, yahoo and gmail.
yahoo has their own mail app which u can also use
I am looking to find a program that will allow me to sync todo lists, notes and grocery lists between me and my girlfriend. Free would be nice. What does everyone recommend?
Evernote

Springpad and Catch are also worth looking at.

definitely reccomend Gtasks. Everything syncs with gmail so you'll never loose your tasks when changing phones.
My wife and I use Our Groceries, which is pretty much our only option, because she has an iPhone and it's the only app I've found that will sync our lists across my Nexus S and her iPhone 4.
Springpad is the best. Evernote is polished but isn't really intuitive

I'm using Springpad and quite like it
+1 for gtasks. But -7 for the price.
Catch is free, and available on both iPhone and Android (and web) https://catch.com/
Confused by the choices. However springpad has a upper hand since it also has to do list.

Springpad for me as it allows you to access notes when you don't have an internet connection, also has iPhone/iPad app.
Gx
+1 for Catch
Hello,
I don't know about task list/todo functionality (don't think it has that) but I really like Catch. Is an awesome notes application, and I've used the same account over an iphone and two android phones (and kept the same persistent notes all the way through, has been great!). As well, it has decent browser access, so you can access/create/edit notes on your pc. You can attach pictures to notes as well in the free version. All notes will be stored on both your phone and on catch servers, thus no worries regarding losing them. (If you work for the CIA, I wouldn't use Catch to store state secrets, but don't think the average user needs to worry )
As the base version is free, I'd definitely check it out! Easy for yourself and your girlfriend to sign in to the same catch account, then you share the same notes
So you got the twitter app for honeycomb. And you can sync your account with your tablet. Am I able to do the same thing with the Facebook app? You know since its not officially in the market for the xoom
Facebook app will not sync on xoom. even when it was officially available on market for xoom it would not sync. Funny thing is it does sync on my girlfriends Asus Transformer

It works on the transformer??? Its time to port things over then. If its possible
of course.
I have had my fair share of frustrations with the Facebook app. I get FB notifications when someone comments, inboxes me, etc... but when I check out the app itself, there is no indication of anything new. If I wait a while (probably an hour), my News feed eventually updates itself.
Also, the FB site sucks in the Browser app. It is difficult to tap on the buttons, and everything goes wonky if I try to view a picture. I usually have to switch to portrait to get anything done.
The FB app is useless. It's worse than terrible on the Xoom and almost as bad on my phone. I use Friendcaster.
so... is there a way to import the sync function from older versions of android to honeycomb? (Pre 2.3) or is there another way to get your facebook contacts into your contacts list on honeycomb??
Im looking for an office suite app. I'll mostly use it for editing word docs, but also for editing PowerPoints. I want dropbox syncing capabilities also. I'm currently trying to decide between Quickoffice pro and Officsuite 6 Pro. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks

QuickOffice came preloaded, but it wasn't the pro version. I found OfficeSuite Pro 6 on sale one day (I think it was $4.99) and have loved it ever since. I can't offer much in the way of comparison with QuickOffice or DTG - I refuse to pay $15 so I have no way of knowing how they perform. OfficeSuite gives me all I want and it does sync with DropBox.

Documents to Go is what I have been using and it works great. If you want Dropbox sync all you need to do is store your chosen files in your Dropbox folder and the Dropbox app will take care of the syncing. It doesn't have to be a feature of the Office app.

Hey guys and gals,
I was wondering if anyone had a good recommendation for a calendar app. I use google calendar for everything, and I find the stock app that comes with the tf700 to be a little limiting...
Help a brother out!

is my calender of choice. You can even add events with your voice!
Those other suggestions are good as well, but just to look at another option, I've been using Business Calendar (got it in April 2011 as Amazon's free app of the day). It does everything i need and more. Feature rich, but not too complicated. Syncs all my calendars on all my devices.
Business Calendar at Play Store
Business Calendar is pretty good, but I currently use Touch Calendar for viewing and basic editing, Work Calendar for my irregular shift schedule entry needs and sometimes I get back to an old friend of mine from the Windows Mobile era, Pocket Informant. (I do not know if the later provides GTasks integration -- although I wouldn't be surprised if it did beautifully -- but it does incorporate a fairly extensive GTD moiety, meaning you can manage pretty much anything with a little creativity.
Just to throw one more calendar program in the ring for consideration:
I've been using Pimlical for Android for about 2 year now on my Droid Inc. I had previously used their program Datebook3, 4, 5 on my Palm phones and loved it.
So far, Pimlical Advanced Calendar has also been GREAT like Datebook was!
