just got a pretty good tablet at a good price, some may know it as malata t8 tegra 2 512 ram everything is ok but i can't play some games such ass angrybirds rio or blood glory. the game starts it downloads it's files but then the game just shuts down no FC no nothing just a black screen and then my desktop. any advice?
Could be anything, most likely an incompatibility with your table (which is why you never buy cheap budget tablets from an unknown band).. Post a logcat if you can.
i thought that if a'll buy a tab with good specs such as nvidia tegra 2 etc... it wouldn't be a problem.
if i could flash cm7 or something do you think i would have a chance of making things work properly and unleashing the power wich this tab has? now it has 2.2 but the company said it will get ics

The last night I played with a brand new g tab at the office depot. the manager said it was just sent to them a few days ago they put it out brand new per viewsonic and removed the old unit. Anyways I was very impressed because the touchscreen actually works wonderfully on this 1. I install the latest firmware and rooted it in the store and play with it for a little while. however my question is I'm debating whether to buy the galaxy tablet or the g tab have an wanted to get opinion on the gyro in it as I have not been able to pick 1 up and play with it and wanted to know comparing it to the galaxy tablet how well the gyro works with games or if it even has that technology I have played with the galaxy tablet and it is extremely percise when turning the unit.
I've got labyrinth lite on my gtab, and the gyro sensors work great on it, didn't have to calibrate or anything. Thats about the only motion game I use. Adw launcher is very quick and snappy when rotating the screen
I've tried Raging Thunder lite from market on my Gtab (stock), and it's pretty responsive... enough to get into 3rd place ...
Is there something on the box that indicates whether the device is a newer or older build??? I'd like to check this out.
I was wondering what the model number was too? Thank you! There have been reports of a new model floating around.
I'm not sure but I know if a new model Does anyone have hands on with the g pad and a galaxy with using the gyros
There are issues with the gyroscope/accelerometer unfortunately. I'm not sure if its the problem with the gtab or issues with the specific games. Many games are optimized for accelerometers from phones and those don't gel well with the gtab.
Raging thunder 1 and asphalt for example has issues. Try raging thunder lite (free). You'll see that you are not able to turn properly. You're supposed to turn by tilting left and right but the game wont do that properly on the gtab. It will turn left and right in game by tilting forwards or backwards.
Raging thunder 2 though will turn correctly though.
Does someone think this could be similar to the calibration of the touch screen, that there may be an easy way to calibrate for the gyroscope/accelerometer?
I am currently looking at buying an Android Tablet. I heave looked at a few but not sure which one to pick.
What I am looking for is the following:
Android 2.2 or better
10" screen
web cam
multi-touch screen
good battery life
1080p HD playback is a positive
access to the Android Market would be best but not a necessity
<$400
fastest processor possible
If anybody has any ideas or suggestions I would appreciate any feedback.
I have looked at the following but I am open to other suggestions
Archos 101
Viewsonic GTablet
Nook Color
Samsung Galaxy Tab - dont need the cellular connection and would really like a larger screen
I have a ViewSonic G Tablet running TnT Lite 4.2.1. Installed LauncherPro on it, and I'm loving it. Playing Dungeon Defenders, Raging Thunder, Pocket Legends, Angry Birds, Crazy Snowboard, all perfectly at full screen. WiFi connection works great, Dolphin HD Browser loads all sites with flash (Even works on Hulu for the most part, some videos on Hulu I have had to reload once or twice to get them to play).
USB keyboard plugs in and works flawlessly, has read all of my USB Hard drives without issue (Fat32). Dumped photos off of my Sony digital camera right onto the internal tablet storage.
All in all, for under 400 bucks this tablet is a steal. And being the only Tegra2 one on your list (not sure if it's the only one on the market now other than the Adam), I'd say go for it. The thing really flies once you get a custom rom on it like TnT Lite (or other).
You should decide if you are looking for something that "just works" or if you want to tinker.
On that list, I'd put the Galaxy Tab in the "just works" column, with all of the others in the "tinker" column.
I love my gTablet, but wouldn't recommend it to anyone that isn't a tinkerer. It is an awesome platform and the software gets better by the day. Given the specs you list and the price point, it is a solid option. You have several great choices of Android builds (CM, Vegan, TNT Lite) and the stock build is pretty usable these days.
If you get any of the "tinker" tablets, prepare to spend all of your free time for a few weeks flashing new roms, trying new apps, testing every little tweak - and finally settling into something usable for you. For me, the time was a bit frustrating - but the roms are much more mature now, and I suspect you'd be up and running in no time.
Given that Tegra2 looks to be THE big Android tablet platform for 2011, I expect my gTablet to keep up with the big boys.
I can't emphasize enough however that the screen sucks - thats the big difference IMHO between the $400 price point and the $600+ price point of the upcoming Android tablets. If you can live with it, its a great value.
Thanks for the info. I was leaning towrds the GTablet. Just wanted to get some.solid opinions of what I was looking at. I am very much a tinker at heart been flashing cell phone since 2004 constantly re-installing an OS on my laptops. I just recently found a ROM that works for me on my Samsung Captivate, which is why I want an Android tablet instead of an iPad or a windows version. The OS is so customizable you can make it your own.

You can find any android tablet with Specs on this Site:
http://androidtabletreviewz.com/
Nook color.
Never live in the past but always learn from it.
You should look at the Archos 70it and 101it. They run great. lots of features and good price. Better than the nook color because it has a faster cpu and better hardware options.
Viewsonic g-tablet beats the archos and nook, and you can find it for $250-300.

Yes I got my wife a Archo 70 before it came to the states. She loves it! I havent rooted it yet, cause there was no need to. Very thin, lightweight, and has a kickstand. A must for under $300
It depends on what you want, and if you're willing to cut corners to get some better features.
I own the Archos 101, and I'm moderately satisfied(I yurn for more power! and can get more power for the price).
If you want something that is fast and probably does well on games, you'll want a newer tablet, and probably a tegra 2 tablet is best right now, the g-tablet seems to be the cheapest with some great hardware, except you'd have to 'settle' with the viewing angles of the screen.
For me, personally, the tablet range starts at $300, which is where the Archos gen 8 tablets, and the Viewsonic G-tablet sits.
The archos tablet is very underpowered in comparison, and I'd advise anyone to get the G-tablet over it for the pure power, I'm stuck with Archos since I have a very impulsive personality and tend to grab the first thing available.
I wouldn't go below the Archos gen 8 tablets hardware wise, then you're only getting android 2.1 and below, and older opengl versions, and generally dead dev communities(sorry some other good oldies, you know you're excluded).
The nook color was popular, but it's old now, as is the Archos tablets and it's time to move on up with hardware.
Sorry, I'm rambling >.< Just doing my nightly xda check before bed.
Final statement/TL;DR version: You are best going with a $280+ tablet as that's where all the 'decent' entry level ones start, and some good hardware ones like the G-tablet. You'll likely have to sacrifice something(a feature) in order to get better hardware at lower costs.
edit: Random thought, get one that supports flash(almost all in the budget I posted support it, but incase you go below that budget, make sure it has flash support ^_^ )
Get a Nook
i bought my wife a nook on release day and started playing with it the day a simple root was achieved. It is now running Phiremod with Dalingrin's overclock kernal and it is absolutely amazing. Perfect form factor in a 7" display, beautiful screen, $250 or less if you find used, and it is now overclocked to 1.3gz. Amazing tablet with alot of dev support i would not call this old and i believe the only things on the market that best this are in the $500 range.

5 guys in our IT department have color nooks ..all rooted, big fans of angry birds, ha ha...so that speaks volumes for the tweakers..I gave mine back to BN...however...still waiting for the samsung 10.1, then I will decide..with all the tweaks, developers have not been able to match the CN to my mikfroyo 4.5 evo performance,...the ipad is nicer still, smoother, and a lot more sensible real worlds apps..so I hope the gb samsung 10.1..sells me.
So I've been playing around with my Transformer Prime and looking for the best games for it when I realized the PS Vita is coming out soon, I think today. When I first heard about it I was so excited about it and was going to buy it on the spot, but now that I have a quad-core tablet, I see less of a reason to own a dedicated video game handheld. Yes The PSV has better graphics and better games right now, but quad-core tablets just arrived. I see a lot of potential in this next generation of tablets. Is it logical to buy a PSV or a 3DS anymore?
To be honest I always thought it was a waste of money from the get go and thats before all these wicked ass tablets started to come out. I know it appealed to some peeps but I never got into it...I figure if I'm gaming it has to be on at least a 42" inch screen. From the little info I heard about the vita, it seems more of a novelty that anything else. I'd just stick to gaming on a tablet if anything. Just my two cents though lol
The big question I keep asking myself is, why should I buy a device dedicated to one thing? In a world when more devices are capable of performing a wider array of uses, it seems strange to have a device that is meant for a single purpose. I do a lot of college work so having a word processor is key, if a device doesn't have it than I'm less likely to buy it. I just want to find high quality games for my Prime, but unfortunately those are not out yet.
As of right now i am using a samsung galaxy tab s 10.5 from at&t for gaming and surfing the web and i was wondering if it's worth upgrading my tablet to something new for gaming or should i just keep what i have now. If you believe i should upgrade to something new what do you think would be better and i am looking for something that would keep up to date with all the newest os out there.
I think with how unique the tab s is, it's going to be a difficult choice. The dual processors are a pretty big deal, and there's still a bit of lifespan you could get playing games well on it. Having said that, the new Shield comes with a quad core 2.2, and it's a nice 200 bucks. You lose screen size, but it can update to marshmallow from the get-go. It also has front facing speakers, hdmi out, and can play your PC games. If that's the only thing you want out of a tablet, I'd say those new features might make the Shield worth buying in your case. The tab s is a powerful beast, though.
