Framework-RES - Samsung Infuse 4G

Question: What is the background graphics name that comes up when you press menu at your home screen? You know, the one that displays at the bottom of the screen behind the menu items.
Not the icons, I know them and I thought that I knew this too. But.

Hmm, don't remember playing with the tw. But long day for me too. I'll check when I get home.

OK, got home, nice long night of sleep.
The png's that I screwed up were located in framework-res.
The two that I messed up were: menu_background.9, menu_background_fill_parent_width.9.
My bad, just noticed that I didn't post this thread as a question.

Dots on the top of the screen?

Sorta feel silly for asking and posting this but its bothering me lol. The dots on the top that show what screen your on when you swipe left or right. Well i thought they faded out when you swiped to a screen and stoped. Mine sre there all the time. Did or do they fade out or am i losing it? I installed a home app and uninstalled because it messed things up. If the dots did fade how can i turn this back on? Also was looking around for away to do a factory reset but cant find where to go? Thanks for the help

This looks like a home app feature. Check the preferences of ur home app. Need not reset phone when tinkering with ur home app can do the trick. If ur home app, does not support it u may have to switch to a different home app that has this feature.
On stock touchwiz forthe captivate the dots do not disappear.
This is my captivate. There are many like it but this one is mine.
Have stock home not using an app. Its what came with phone. Someone doesnt know were i can find where to mess with home options? Thanks
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
The dots don't disappear for a reason. You can tap on a dot and go directly to that page without having to swipe through them. That's why they remain visible.
You can't make them disappear, no matter how hard you try haha. If your looking for customization I would suggest ADW.launcher or launcherpro. Both are on the market and I really enjoy both. If you have other questions feel free to ask

Just an FYI, if and when and depending on how the Froyo update comes for the Captivate, if you are running a non-stock launcher you may have issues getting the update.

HiddenMenu

For those that aren't aware, kinda cool thing I found when researching what com.lge.hiddenmenu was. From the Optimus 2x thread located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-991449.html
I'd like to stress the following that was mentioned -
Enjoy the vast amount of options and tests in there, and be careful as some are destructive.
I love the torch flashlight and dimming the capacitive buttons..
Well this one isn't so difficult but I though I'd share for those that have not worked it out yet.
The LG Device Test "HiddenMenu" is apparently on all shipping phones and it's simply disabled via removing the menu entry.
To activate you need to create a shortcut to this hidden menu. You can do this with most replacement launchers and apps like BetterCut.
Example using LauncherPro (others will use a similar method):
Long press on home screen
Select Shortcuts
Select Activities
Scroll down to and expand com.lge.hiddenmenu
Select HiddenMenu (first entry)
Enter Shortcut name
Click on shortcut to launch
Hit 'Thanks' below
Also now Logcat app:
As above
Scroll down to and expand LG Debug
Select LG Debug (first entry)
Enter Shortcut name
Click on shortcut to launch
Hit 'Thanks' below
Enjoy the vast amount of options and tests in there, and be careful as some are destructive.
Perhaps Useful:
Dim Capacitive Buttons: Device Test | Touch LED Brightness
Turn on Camera LED: Device Test | Camera Test | Torch Flashlight Preview

Np. There's a lot of stuff in there! I love reducing battery usage with the menu lights. Got it turned all the way down. Every little bit helps!
For ADW Launcher, it is as follows:
Long press on homescreen
Select "Custom shortcut"
Select "Pick your activity"
Select "Activites"
Then it's the same as the OP described above. Seems to be a bit more menu work to get to it through ADW lol

find anything in there worth changin/tweaking/messin with?
You are awesome for bringing this to my attention. I've been searching for a way to dim the hard-key backlights! Only wish this was available on the Vibrant. The G2x isn't nearly as bad but it certain wasn't much better stock! =)

That's pretty sweet!
Do you know what the "destructive" menus are? There are a ton of menus/sub-folders in that hidden menu... I would hate to mess with the wrong thing.
Have any of you heard of more tech-y, back end stuff that might be worth tweaking with this? Most of the sub-folders are just acronyms that I have no clue about. It would be cool if an engineer checked it out and looked for some diamonds in the rough!
Anyone tweak with the speaker settings? My ringtones are really soft compared to my mt4g, I practically have to turn it up all the way..

are you talking about the earpiece speaker? because I was referring to the speakerphone...come to think of it I'm not sure if the option affects the earpiece or speakerphone? I agree the earpiece speaker is fine but actually the speakerphone is very low, many reviews have pointed this out. I used to be able to play music on my blackberry bold 9700 and listen while I was in the shower but this phone is far from loud enough to do that

SwiftKey 3 Beta

As many of you know, SwiftKey 3 beta was released today. I've been using it for the last couple hours... And it's amazing. I really recommend trying it out.
Had a hard time finding this myself and it makes you create an account, so i figured id post up a direct link for the other slow people out there.
http://www.swiftkey.net/swiftkey-3-beta-smart-space-ui-themes
http://bit.ly/HKAPLw <--- direct download
EDIT:
Two things that are majorly missing, are longpress time (how long i have to hold to long press, i usually lower from 3000 to 2000) and the swipe function sensativity. But the new themes are quite nice.
Thanks for the heads up.
Any noticeable differences over the original/paid version?
I love mine. Got it when it was on sale.
Best keyboard I've ever used.

I guess I like the new one so far. But the new settinngs button at the bottom left of the keyboard is driving me nuts. Anyone figure out yet how to get rid of it? I wasn't able to.
Also, does anyone know how to back up your learned keyboard style so it doesn't have to re-learn my typing habits everytime I flash a new SwiftKey or ROM?

Im with you. I've gotten used to everything except that they switched the settings button and the special characters button between swiftkey x and swiftkey 3. Every time i go to key in a number I hit the settings button
Still cant get used to lack of comma and questionmark keys. do not like the swyping, slows me down drastically.

OMG, the lack of the comma now and the stupid settings key is pissing me off!
And with ICS Leak, both old & new Swift Key have been weird. Sometimes it'll start editing in the middle of a sentence instead of at the end and won't let me force it to start editing at the end of a sentence.
I'll try to reflash a ROM to see if it helps.

This usually happens when you are using a launcher that didn't come with the ICS leak. Most of the time, it is because whatever program you downloaded (installed) put an icon on your home screen, but it didn't put it on the correct launcher. If you properly uninstall the program, it should go away, but you may have to get into the settings of whatever launcher you are using and try to take care of it that way...if it happens to you again.

CM10 Screen Issues

I just got CM10. I have two issues:
1. There's this very thin line at the top of the screen. It changes from white green and orange. When I have the phone charging, the linesturns green and moves as if something if being loaded. How can I get rid of the line?
2. The "home circle" that normally appears at the bottom of the screen isn't present. How can I add that button to the bottom row?
Check out the attachment to see what I mean. Thanks!
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you didn't flash stock CM10. Sky-JB perhaps?
1. Wow I really thought we were done with this question. You even answered it for yourself, just put together the pieces. Team BatteryBar. Open the app and disable it. Or just search. Google does wonders...
2. The ROM you're on is using the TouchWiz UX launcher, which uses a square instead of a circle. Download Apex or Nova launcher. Or just flash stock CM10...
