I found this while searching for a clear description of the Android inner workings. I was looking for clarification on some of the terminology... Particularly the use of SD Card, because I'm a rookie and I have seen SD Card being used to refer to both the internal AND external SD Card... Anyway, I found it helpful... so maybe someone else will too?

Does anyone know how to unify the Internal SD Card partition? My G2x (running Bionix rom) is showing me 3 storage spaces, i.e., it is showing 2 partitions for internal SD Card & 1 for external SD Card. I wanna know if I can unify the 2 partitions of my internal SD Card so that I can ACTUALLY move my apps to my external SD Card. Any help will be appreciated.

Or is it because its Friday.....You could change the title of the thread to something about the Sensation or a rumor about a GB update....people are really jumping on that.

Lol. So true. I really hope I can get this question answered. I'm sure I'm not the ONLY one with this problem.

I am sooooo SUPER excited that we finally got a official recovery ( thank you Koush ), however, after playing around some, I noticed an option for Partition SD Card. Believe me, I have done my fair share of searching, here, online and everywhere, before posting here. I still can't seem to properly understand the relevance of partitioning the SD card. Could somebody please break it down for me in lehman's terms for???
Thank you all very much in advance.

I currently don't have a micro sd card so I was wondering if this could be an alternative.

I don't believe one is needed to Root.
It's been a while since I rooted my S3, but I found this:

Everything you need to Root is here:

You can root without sd card... Internal storage works just fine... I rooted mine without an sd card

I've never used an SD card. Just make sure you never format internal memory by accident.

Hi Guys,
I've been searching through the CM10.2 forum for gt-i9505 to see if there is support for moving apps to the external sd card, but have found no information. I also don't know how to access my external SD card with CM File Manager. Can anyone help me out? I would appreciate all the help. Cheers!:fingers-crossed:
have you found a solution for this?
I'm facing the same.
The only person who gave me the info I was looking for was BassMadrigal in the CyanogenMod.org website forum. He said that it has not been on CM since CM7 and will not likely be added again because it is a waste of time. His explanation was something about sharing partitions. Sounded to me like the apps aren't really getting moved to SD, just a part of them. Hope this helps ya, man.

My friend try this
I own a Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G, its running CM10 and i did not like the storage problems so i decided to swap the mounting points by editing the "vold.fstab" file, i swapped the internal and external perfectly without any issues or slowdown. But now CM10.2 is out and i would like to upgrade but i cannot find the "vold.fstab file, i read that this version no longer uses it, so i searched all over this site and google but have not found any answers, so here i am asking for help to swap the internal and external mounting points on CM10.2 and if anybody can help me that would be great and i do not like directory bind, or symlinks, Thank You in advance

Sorry this isn't relevant to your question, but I was just curious what did you edit in the file to swap the mounts. I would like to use my removable SD card as the phones main storage?

you can find the info to modify the "vold.fstab" file here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33253737
I found the vold.fstab file in the stock ics rom. i was guessing it would be the same as the cm roms. its not. so far i can think of switching the code under #internal sdcard with the code from #external sdcard. has anyone ever tried this?
