[Q] How to get back own number onto phone setting & SIM card? - General Questions and Answers

(xperia mini pro SK17i 2.3.4)
when I backed up my contacts to my SIM card, I didnt choose to add the contacts, because the SIM card was rather new and sometimes there are service numbers and stuff on it I dont really want. So I choose to erase all contact data of the SIM card, before backing up my contacts.
since then I noticed that also my own phone number was deleted from the contacts list and also when I go settings -> about phone -> status -> my phone number, theres now only written "unknown number". how can I get my own number back into that field and also back onto the SIM card? from what I know I can only backup all my contacts, but not my own number.

CONTACTS

I have transferred all my contacts from my mobile phone SIM to my XDA
using the SIM manager. I have now updated my contacts on my XDA
adding addresses and other details.
If I want to transfer these updated contacts back to a SIM, what
details will go across to the SIM? Is it just name and telephone
number?
Thanks.
i think that what your cellphone can display as contact info is what the sim can hold infomationwise
sim contacts
Only the basic names and mumbers will be saved on sim.
If you want tho save the full addresses etc then you need to save your contacts file in full to your memory card, or to your PC. You can also save using backup.
You can also save them in outlook.
Its a real pain but the PDA looses everything but the basics if the battery goes down.

Save new contacts to SIM by default?

Hi,
I got Gen.Y 5.5 ROM with Sense 2.1.
Now the problem is that when I open the phone, dial a number and choose to save it to contacts then there's no option where to save the contact - it only saves it to phone memory.
I like to use SIM and store my contacts on SIM only. So I have to manually copy the new contacts to SIM.
Is there a registry key or something to change so that the default save destination is SIM card not phone contacts.
TIA
I have the same promblem
could somebody help us?
Fix
Download Diamond Tweak from Montecristoffon's page from montecristoff.webs.com
Scroll down to SIM Contacts and change to Show then Exit and it should work.

SIM Contacts with Padlock

Hi,
I have around 7 contacts with padlock symbols that I cant remove from my SIM card. I dont want to hide them, I wish to delete these contacts. However in the sim manager, the delete option is greyed out for each one of the contacts.
Has anyone got any other ideas how to delete them?
I've tried deleting the pim.vol file ... which makes these contacts disapear, but rebooting the phone they re-appear. I've also put the sim in on a non MS phone and cant see the contacts on their. Anyone got any ideas?

[Q] HTC 8X Windows 8 - AT&T - Backing Up Entire Phone

Hi people!
I have an HTC Windows 8X phone locked to AT&T.
I'm a newbie to the forum so please don't hang me for asking but is there any way to backup other phone info besides your app settings?
I had to do a reset but using the cloud backup only allowed my programs and a few other things.
My phonebook, wireless settings, email settings, icon placement etc had to all be redone.
I know it does the apps, pix and texts but I'd at least like to have my phonebook if nothing else.
I had my old phonebook copied from my old phone (a Moto on AT&T) and they (AT&T) copied my phonebook from the old
SIM to the new one. I was then able to copy from the SIM to the phone... but you can't copy back to the SIM so any and all
contact updates and corrections can't be stored on the SIM again for future transfers back and they aren't backed up to the cloud.
I actually do like the phone, I just wish they'd give you more options as to what to back up so I don't have to wind up
writing down all my contacts for manual re-entry should something go haywire.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks!
