[Q] Unable to root Samsung S5360 on 2.3.6 XXKL3 - General Questions and Answers

Tried to root my Galaxy Y S5360 using the described method (update.zip). No errors and I can see and launch the SuperUser App. However, I still can't modify any of the system files and Android Commaner reports Root Access: NO.
I can't see that I missed anything. Build.prop attached.

The same problem
I do not have even a su app in list...

btw, you can check with root checker basic if you have root acces, than you just should update superuser. And intergrate update in system, I use link2sd for that

I had this problem to.
The attached file worked for me.
Instruction.
Put the file in root directory.
Flash with stock recovery(not CWM)
It's a quick flash and after re-boot you should be set.
IT DOES NOT WORK IF YOU FLASH USING CWM.zip:silly::silly:

Unlockroot and Super One Click usually works for me, if one fails other surely be succesful. But i am rooting tablets generally so i dont know if these will help, but worth a try.

How does this work on linux? Is there a set of commands that can be applied via the terminal shell?
---------- Post added at 12:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:53 AM ----------
The following commands remove the root applications.
Code:
adb shell
su
/system/xbin/busybox mount -o remount,rw /system
rm /system/xbin/su
rm/system/bin/su
rm /system/app/Superuser.apk
reboot
The update is downloading now. I'll report back is the phone updates succesfully.
---------- Post added at 12:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:11 PM ----------
Well, the commands remove the root option, but the update still fails. I have to root the phone again and see if when I reverse the rooting process the phone will be unrooted succesfully.
Be back later.
For root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30252497&postcount=945
Reversing the root commands doesn't really cleanse the phone enough to make the install of the update go without a hitch.
Found it(for Linux):

[Q] FeiTeng H7100 - Root?

Hi all -
Has anyone been able to successfully root this device? Running JB 4.1.1, 1gb ram. I have tried many tools including bin4ry's root guide, to no avail. When using the bin4ry method, I get the elusive "mount: permission denied (are you root?) error." Let me know if you need any additional info from me to assist.
Thanks in advance!

Could you send me your original rom h7100 phone, I lost mine tried rooted.
Thank you very much, sorry my English
I'm desperate, I tried ROOT for Feiteng H7100 and it still fails. I tested with Unlock Root, SuperOneClick, TPSParkyroot, Root with Restore by Bin4ry v18 and none work, this is a great sadness.
Any solution please?
I bought this phone also few days ago and I have been trying to root it as well. What I found is the the system partition is read only and before it can be modified the permission need to be set to rw or read and write, the problem now is how to change the permission without already having root privilege., I have tried everything cannot mount system partition rw. I downloaded few apps from market with now luck. It will need re programming which won't be easy. I am now scared of bricking the phone so I have decided to leave it until more support become available. This is what you get with Chinese phones.
How is your storage working for you? I seems to have 1.6gb of internal storage which I cannot do anything with and getting message that storage is running out when installing new apps.

Sometimes the error ""mount: permission denied (are you root?) error." is related to connection mode. Trying to root a motorola atrix tv, I've managed to root it changing "USB computer connection" mode to "Media device (MTP)". Maybe this procedure can help you. Please let us know if you have any success!
See ya!

I rooted the phone following the instruction i posted on few days ago, but it is simple process but long winded. I think the best thing to do is use my new boot.img that i created using the instruction, as long as your phone is Feiteng H7100 it should work, that will save you a lot of time, if you want to create one yourself then refer to my earlier post.
if you want you my boot.img the link for it is below:
http://www.4shared.com/zip/m9GUMMt4/New_boot.html
Since rooting the phone i have a back up copy of the stock rom now so if anything goes wrong l can upload it for you.
instruction how to use my boot.img are below:
1. Install usb driver for your phone depending on your operating system, when the phone is plug in to your computer your phone must show as Android adb device in Device Manager thats the only way to know that your usb driver is installed sucessfully.
2. Download MTK flash tool download link is on the instruction posted few days again.
3. Download and extract boot.img to a folder, there will be 2 files, boot file and MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc,
4. Load MTK flash tool and click on scatter-loading button, navigate to folder in point 3, and click on MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc to load, and make sure the only thing that is selected is boot.img and the directory of the boot file is showing as the folder in point 3.
5. Turn of the phone and take battery out, and plug phone to you computer with a usb cable, press Download button, and wait, once the Mtk flash tool has picked up your phone quickly insert you battery, then the phone will be flashed with the new boot.img. once this done the phone is really to be rooted.
6. Turn the phone back on and it should boot as nornal, then plug the phone back to your computer and select MTP mode for usb then root the phone with Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18, if dont already have it, google it, the phone should root without error. Good luck
Hope that helps

Hi! I got all the files to try rooting my h7100,i got drivers installed ok and ckecked them doing the memory test with flashtool.
But ,how do i backup my original ROM ? Scatter is loaded and i have to click on read back .At first a lot of lines appears for previous ROM backup´s ,and they are marked, i suppose i have to unckeck all of them and create my new one by clicking ADD .Do i have to copy line by line the content of scatter or just create one ROM line and set the lengt to a certain number?
or Just load scatter and press download? .......I dont want to do it until im sure.
Edit : I did it !! I pressed download and i have a new rom (20121215SXlogo_e1901_v77_ht_s8) in my phone ,now im root but didnt make the backup.....

Doing the read back does not root your phone its just part of the process. You will need to carry on following the instructions on the pdf file l post ealier. You will not be able to back up your stock rom until phone is properly rooted, there is a tool you need to download to do it, if you refer to the xda forum link on my post few days ago the link to the tool is on there. There is a way of changing the storage size but it's too risky so I have decided to use link2sd app instead from the market it as efficient. There are a lot of information on the forum link a posted few days ago you can check it out. You need to download android kitchen app and cygin app link are on the pdf file. Let me know if you need any more help. Good luck.

[ROOT 100%] TSD A9300 chinese mobile

ROOT SOLUTION AT #8 POST IN THIS THREAD
Click Thanks if i helped you
Hi, i try to root this phone and i don't found the way.
First of all, this is the phone info:
Hardware : MT6575
Model : TSD A93000
Build number : SJ_A952_A881_M00_S07_120827
Build date UTC : 20120827-095217
Android v : 4.0*
Baseband v: MAUI.11AMD.W11.50.SP.V10, 2012/07/03 17:10
Kernel v : 2.6.35.7 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.4.3 (GCC) ) #1 Mon Aug 27 17:45:08 CST 2012
(if you need more info, only demand me)
* I think that this phone IS NOT Android 4.0 because tap-in several times in "setting→about the phone→Android version" show the Zombie Arts by Jack Larsson and also the kernel not belong to Android 4.0, for this think i doubt of the MT6575 processor, thereby, how can i be sure of this info? something apk you know?
When i connect phone (mode debbuging and unknow sources ON) at MTK Droid Tools last version, the software "not responding". I try to install several ADB drivers, but seems none work. The only way to "connect" is when MTKDroidTools is "not responding" i open a cmd window and kill the adb server with "adb kill-server", in this moment the MTKDroidTools stop and read the phone, in this moment i copy&paste the phone info up here. At this moment i click on "root" button but don't work displaying:
"Only through CWM it is possible to get root in this phone! look urls (url chinese) (url xda-developers)" sorry i can't post urls, under 10 posts
I try to follow the tutorial of the 2nd link ([GUIDE] How to ReadBack ROM using SP FlashTool, to make the CWM recovery, to install SuperUser (get root) etc.If your phone not rooted using the ROOT button.), but i can't because the phone not connect at MTKDroidTools for take back the scatter file and etc.
What can i do?
Sorry for the tocho
up!
help me please!!

1.Dowoad the file from the link below.
2. Then download Clockwork Mod Custom Recovery.
3. Then boot into recovery mode, and choose "install from SD Card".
4. Choose Clockwork mod recovery.zip, and it will boot you into a different recovery.
5. From that recovery mode you should be able to flash .zip files without signature verification.
6. Choose install zip from SD Card and choose SU Installer.zip.
Note:To unroot just flash SU Uninstaller.zip the same way you did to flash Installer.zip.

hello, i have tha same smartphone, can you please write the tutorial in english as well ? google translate isnot something i trust for these procedures.
Also som questions:
Do you have the original rom so that if we brick the phove we can revive it via SpFlashTools? Have you managed flashing CWM recovery?
It is very cheap for its characteristics.
Back camera is most likely 2mp (or 3MP) and front 0.3 for sure. I tried resizing and i found that out . Still more than acceptable quality. I got Antutu score of 4500. It is really high for 6575, since my old 6575 could reach 3700 and my current 6577 gets 6800. I really apreciate that too.
dont really understand what is the real clock of the cpu. . Antutu says 19998.84mhz which is rather impossible for a 6575. Cpu spy as well cannot retrieve the frequency states.
checking the gps now

Should I follow the process given on this thread, Though I had seen this thread earlier but never gave it a try...
If U say then I will surely give a try to this as well.....
Hope it succeeds...N doesnt brick my phone...... I'm gona follow its procedure only....! ! !
Update ---
I tried this process...
made a backup of my entire data.. Downloaded the file and copied it to my Ext. SD CARD(since Recovery doesnt read the zip from Int. SD CARD.....
Post copying, Switched off my phone, went into Recovery mode., there i got following options--
a)-- Reboot System Now
b)-- Apply update from ADB
c)-- Apply update from Exter
d)-- Wipe data/factory Reset
e)-- Wipe Cache partition
f)-- Apply update from Cache....
I selected "Apply update from Exter" option
My Ext. SD Card opened up >> I chose "G.CHAT-MACDROID-v1.zip" >>>
then i was shown a screen on which all this(written below) was getting displayed --
-- init recovery...
# MANUAL MODE #
-- Appling Multi-CSC --
Applied the CSC- Code: INU
Successfully applied multi-CSC
--Install/SD CARD...
then post 1min(approx) SAMSUNG LOGO displays and my phone returned back to the first 6options(mentioned above).....
When I select "REBOOT SYSTEM NOW" option, my phone restarts normally...!
Neither my DATA gets Wiped(as said in the process of this thread), nor I could see any other changes happening to my Cellph features.., seems like nothing actually ever happened....
Now what should I do, please suggest me...
I have explained U the entire process explicitly what happened on following the thread U mentioned.....
Please HELP ME,....
Response awaited eagerly...

[ROOT][GUIDE] Coolpad Catalyst Model: 3622A

How To Root Coolpad Catalyst Model: 3622A T-Mobile variant on 5.1.1.
**READ AND PROCEED WITH CAUTION**
Rooting this device.. I'm on 5.1.1 with it currently and since no compiled exploits are around that I could quickly find I attempted KingRoot. I was able to root it using the latest Kingroot PC app. Even though it said device not adaptive it rooted successfully. I unrooted and tried the apk and first attempt failed as usual.. second attempt succeeded. Removed KingUser, all remnants of KingRoot and replaced with SuperSu. Installed SuperSu into /system. Now the tricky part here is timing.
1) Download WolffDroids SuperSu replacement files. I used the latest download (slightly different script). http://www.w0lfdroid.com/2015/05/How-to-Remove-Replace-KingUser-KingRoot-with-SuperSU.html
2) Download ES File Explorer and go ahead and run it and make sure its open in the background.
3) Follow WolffDroids directions - Copy over the files from WolffDroids zip (folder named mrw) to /sdcard/ and make sure these files indeed copied.
4) Follow WolffDroids directions - Open Terminal Emulator and run the script.
***Read the next steps before executing. It's crucial that you do it as quick as possible else you risk chance of the CoolPad handset rebooting. If this happens do all steps again (minus copying /mrw over to /sdcard) but do 5-6 quicker!***
5) You will see a bunch of failures. About every line will be a failure. Once you see that the script appears to have hung (stopped doing anything).. Then Script should be on the last step..
6) Immediately toggle over to ES File Explorer and at the bottom will show newly created files. Click on superuser.apk install and update binaries. If it doesn't show it navigate the File Browser to the mrw directory, select superuser.apk, hit install, and update binaries.
7) Install as /system if you like.
8) Reboot, once booted check and make sure you have root and supersu is running!
9) Clean up any files you don't want.
10) Done
So far I have had no reboots. No problems. If i encounter any before this device goes to market I will update this thread.
In case any major issues such as soft bricked devices etc here is the link to the Firmware file used in QFIL.

Newp not yet. Think i already tried Kingo and Kingroot and had zero success. Going to try Kingroot again.
Yeah i bypassed FRP on the 3632a using UNI when i got this handset. Unfortunately changing the IMEI via EDL is a no go also. UNI errors out and stops process after backing up Security.. Can't use Qualcomm method yet because it needs ROOT. This phone has the latest security patch so i'm thinking i'm sh*t outta luck.
UNI will not root this because it is over 4.x.x. Currently UNI can only root 2.x.x to 4.x.x . I have suggested improved rooting and for newer Android OS' to the UNI Team so hopefully we will see it released on the next update which is way overdue. I'm stuck on 18.02 for now... 19.01 errors for 75% of the users. However the FRP Modules are doing awesome. Just wish they'd focus on the big update to Main Module. Until then it looks like I'll have to use other software/hardware of mine to try to change this IMEI.
I Just obtained temporary root on the Coolpad Defiant 3632A.. Going to see if i can get it to stick. ;D
If this works.. or regardless of full root I will make a tutorial for it.
no dice on the 3632A ... =/
