ADB For win7 for Install ?s

So I have been looking around and Im seeing that you will need the ADB set up and I saw this http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/06/how-to-set-up-adb-usb-drivers-for-android-devices/ and saw this for user that are on windows 7 http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/08/24/workaround-for-htc-hero-sync-problem-in-windows-7/
Wondering if anyone did this yet for there phone and that they have win7? was there any issues or anything?
Hmm.. I already had SDK9 installed. I installed HTC Sync, connected my phone, Win7 Pro x86 installed the drivers properly, it was now showing as an "Android Device" in Device Manager, and I was able to verify I had ADB access. I didn't have to do anything special

[Tool] Ultra ADB GUI

MOVED TO http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1266256
I think this is a cool idea. I'm at work now so I can't test it.
Which O.S. is this gui written for? windoze or Linux?
Sent from my I897 using XDA App
used it. its nice. its cool. its not for me .
its just easier for ME to just adb push C:\blahblahblah?\blah to /blah/blah
or just " adb reboot download"
but this is nice for others that are new to ADB and commands
great work
you may want to re-post or ask moderator to move to : Android > General
as this isnt specific to captivate. any android novice would love this tool.
great job!

that's also possible.
i just used for example the scripts files for linux.
after modifying some commands - it will also work on macintosh (but you've to work with terminal - no gui!)

thanks either way.

Surprisingly my iMac needs SOMETHING. Normally what you say is absolutely true, but...
My Captivate and Skyrocket both have USB ADB connection issues on the Mac. I have a Droid2 and it works fine, but connecting the Captivate gives me a LOGCAT of about 1 page, then it disconnects. The Skyrocket NEVER connects.
Tried it on another identical iMac and SAME RESULTS so it's a hardware / Apple configuration issue. Go figure!
I'm searching the forums for some additional information but so far no luck!

Android SDK & Windows 8

I'm trying to use my One X on Windows 8 but it won't let me install the Android SDK. It says I need the Java SDK or whatever installed first and I did that but it still comes up with the same error when I try to install the Android SDK.
Anyone using Windows 8 and got it working?
I looked in c:\Windows\system32 and it's there. Java.exe.
It says if you believe you have it installed and it was not properly recognized, then simply set an environment variable JAVA_HOME to point to it.
I don't know what that means or how to do it.
This my help.

Thanks. I got it working. I don't remember tho what to install from the SDK Manager. It's been a while since I installed it on Windows 7 but I think I remember that I had to choose some different things to install.

I just wanna use adb for now. So should just the recommended setting settings be enough? I see it recommends Android 4.1 stuff but now 4.0.3. I checked off 4.0.3 just to be safe.

That's all I do, and it works fine. Doesn't take for just adb, I don't even think my current computer has it installed, I just have it from an old one click Root ibused a long time ago.

I think I had gone back to Windows 7 before I figured out what was causing the problem. I figured I'd wait until Windows 8 was official before messing around with getting it to work.
I just installed the official Windows 8 build and am in the process of getting the sdk installed and adb working.
I LOVE Windows 8 btw. The official build is so much nicer than the release preview I had on a couple weeks ago.
