The new Layout in ICS is Amazing! I Use it to remind me of when i have test and to do my homework
2.Tasks Free
Uses Google tasks and is great for managing what Homework i have todo
3.iHome iSleep
Beautiful and Simple alarm Clock! Plays soft sounds when going to sleep and works super well to wake you up!
4.AirCalc
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Its a floating calculator! allows me to take math notes and have a calculator on same screen!
5.Google Docs
Where I Write my Essays! simple and quick.
6.OneNote
This is a great notes app from Microsoft! I've used the PC version and all i can say is it works! its super fast and syncs over skydrive.
7.OverSkreen Browser
Made by the same people in #4 this full fledged browser floats around! its great for research while writing
8. Infinite Campus
I use this app to check my grades...NOTE YOUR SCHOOL MUST USE THIS SYSTEM
9.News 360
Best news app on fire in my opinion
10.Gmail
DUH!

Yep, but it'll only work if your connection is 1mbps or faster. Pretty smooth for me.

Very nice selection.
I'ill give them a try as soon as my kindle fire arrives and i have it rooted.
Do you know if the later kindle versions may have any issue when rooting ?

I don't believe so just use the kindle fire utility

With 6.3 you have to sideload Super User. But that's the only problem.
Great layout to the OP! I'll be pming about the apps.

I installed Business Calendar, how do include my google account there?
Also, my gmail app is not syncing one of my two accounts, only the one i added manually.
Is there any way i can install "incompatible" apps from market, using the market ?
I know i can install .apks, but i want to keep the link between the app and the market to keep them updated.

Music download app

Does anyone know or what is the best app to download music? I had music junk but recently stopped working. Music paradise doesn't have much music to choose from.

Mail app and music app

Hello,
I switched from an iPhone and would never switch back, but I was shocked that the stock email app could not zoom out to view a whole HTML mail. First I thought it is a problem with my phone, but google shows me that this is on all phones. I tried kaiten mail, but it has the same problem and additionally an ugly UI. What do you use for your mail?
I use cyanogenmod 10 and it has the Apollo music player instead of the stock one, is it better than the stock or would you recommend the stock one, I assume play music it is called.

I use MailDroid Pro. Works great. I don't use my phone for music- that's what my iPod is for!

have you tried this one? I use stock gmail app but in changelog their say about pinch to zoom options, and it has a lot of positive comments

Thanks but sadly the same result, I can zoom in but not out to see the whole message, the same also in kaiten, the paid successor of k9.
Any other hint?

Maybe you should wait for contribution from Sparrow team in stock Gmail app I suppose the stock app will change in near future.

I like Pulse but it tends to be laggy at times......NOT sure if is the ROM I use or what BUT it is

that's why I'm using Taptu lately.
Looks similar but has some great additions to it (Twitter and Facebook Support for example^^)
I also like the look of UberSocial if you look for a nice and fast twitter app

I think the Play Store itself has a beautiful UI.

I don't know if games count, but there's a game, which I believe iscalled, "Riptide GP". I just love the water effect in it! Very realistic!

Looking for a Fantastical clone!

So after a brief stint with iOS, I'm back using a Nexus as my daily driver. But there's one single, essential iOS app I have yet to find a replacement for.
What makes Fantastical great is having the half month, half agenda view on a single screen. So far, haven't been able to find an Android app that does the same thing. Even tried combining widgets (which would even be ideal), but it's hard to find widgets that size well with the stock launcher.
Am I missing something? Anyone know of any decent alternatives?

DigiCal comes closest, I think, and keeps to Holo design to boot.
