[Q] Money opportunity...Logitech Revue part time torrent Hub? - General Questions and Answers

I just received a logitech revue for xmas...I found that I could sideload apps using dropbox...first thing I did was download five different torrent client until one worker with the revue honeycomb..I also noticed that I could connect a FAT32 formatted HDD...which got me thinking how would I use the connected HDD to download torrents to. I can connect and see material from the HDD only when I use logitech's proprietary media app...is there a way that I can access the HDD from the root of the android device??? Is there a way to see that HDD show up in a file explorer???
I can paypal donate to the best answer...fa real!

external harddrive via usb?

Hello, I am running out of space on my 8gb micro sd and i just got into private torrenting where i am downloading all my favorite artists' albums in flac. Me, being cheap and do not feel like paying the multi million dollars for a 64gb(not even sure if they are out yet), would like to know if there is any program or drive that supports a smaller maybe 1.8 or 2.5 inch harddrive plugged into the mini usb(obviously using the needed converter). If no, is there any program or free service i could get that would let me access my home file server anywhere since i have a data plan?
Thanks
bump, i found something that would stream mp3's via the internet and will work on my phone but i want FLAC!!! any ideas anyone?
The program is called didiom. Google..
bump bump. I found something called a mobidapter which converts the microsd port into a usb port which then you can plug the usb into a harddrive or what not. But the problem is, which i just figured out, sdhc only supports up to 32gb. So there would be no point to getting it. Because the phone in hardware limited. ***wishes for sdxc***

Replacing a Boxee Box

I have my parents setup with a Boxee Box with a 500 gb usb drive to their 720p tv. The interface and apps are crap, but they've unwillingly managed as long as I fill it with movies and check that they are correctly identified.
Now I am thinking that some sort of android box would be nice. Then I could have a shared dropbox folder with dropsync and manage all the files from my own computer at home. It would also enable my parents to use the national tv and radio android apps when they arent watching 720p mkv files with subtitles.
Does this sound feasible?
- It needs to be able to use a usb hard drive with a filesystem that supports large files. exfat? ntfs?
- Have a nice remote.
- Access to Google play.
- Stable.
- Ethernet or the possibility to use an ethernet dongle at the same time as the usb hard drive.
I doesn't have to be small or good looking.
Any tips? I will probably get an Ouya to but I want to do this project now, not whenever Ill be able to get my hands on an Ouya.

[Q] How to Stream 300+ gigs of music from tablet

Hello everyone !
I am currently looking for the best way to stream my 300+ gigs of music from my tablet and I am looking for the best and easiest way to do it.
What I have right now as devices are
a Laptop (which is were the music is right now)
a Ps3
No External drives yet
My Galaxy Tab 2
I was thinking of maybe buying an external HDD with a kind of bluetooth / DLNA connectivity to host the mp3
since the laptop isnt at home/open all the time when I wanna grab my tablet.
I Also thought about Cloud storage... But im not sure I could host 300+ gigs of mp3 free on the net... and if possible I dont wanna waste too much internet data.
So at the end I thought I would just ask the pros.
Thanks a lot guys !!

A hard disk will be a good idea...also if u dunno wanna but a HD with bluetooth or dlna u can check tab 2 accessories section for HDs that tab 2 support via OTG cable...
(is there is no thread than u can make one asking suggetions for supported models)
and if u get no reply go and but a dlna/bluetooth one it will be best one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I use very easy and dirty solution -> enable FTP server on my PC...
and all other android/windows device, stream via FTP, or download for a temporary
I have a small VPN servers (mikrotik) , and I connect via VPN if I am outside my own wifi...
cons: in samsung music player, you can't minimize the player when streaming. on xperia walkman, you can minimize the walkman without stopping your music
ooooh interresting ima look more into that !
Thanks a lot for the info !

Best File Format for External HDD Accessed via WiFI?

Hi!
I've recently purchased a small WiFi travel router that also allows me to plug in my external hard drive (HDD) so that my Android phone can access the files wirelessly. It was originally formatted NTFS but I couldn't get Android to read the files when I connected wired via an OTG cable. Would the same be true for accessing the files wirelessly? What file format would you use for the drive? It's 3TB so if I use FAT32, I'll have to have 2 paritions. However, this probably has the widest compatibility. I also have streaming media boxes that I use when traveling & it would be helpful if they could also read the files since occasionally, the wifi in hotels isn't up to streaming from online services. This would either be an Amazon Fire TV 4k box (previous gen, not current) or a Roku box.
Thanks so much in advance!

Can I download files to hard drive connected to phone?

Got a question that I hope is ok to ask.
If I connected a hard drive to my phone through cable, would torrent apps installed on my phone see it as a 3rd drive? Would these torrent apps download torrents to it? I want to download torrents to my phone to a hard drive connected to my phone. And I want torrent apps like utorrent on my phone to direct downloads to that drive. Is it possible?
