[Q] Widget to tweet - T-Mobile LG G2x

I'm looking for a widget to allow me to post to twitter. All of the twitter apps that I've tried have widgets that show timelines. I just basically want a box to type in and post. Any suggestions?

Plume..

I've actually been using Plume, but somehow I missed the 2x1 widget, which has the status post button. Thanks!

Anytime. That is the only twitter app i use.

Could've sworn go twitter widget did. Not sure

Android Pro Widget is the best social network widget on the market. It's better then Plume. You can use apw for twitter, facebook and more. It also have different themes that you will like. Try it out.

Bah you name stealer! Jk
Haha cant help but derail since ive never seen you around. But im about to try the app you suggested. Even though 12 posts in 3.5+ years isnt impressive. Maybe you speak from experience.

I tried out all of the suggestions and decided to stick with Plume. Even though it doesn't show you the tweet entry box until you click on the widget's icon, it works out to be the same number of clicks (or I guess I should say "taps") as when you want to type in the text area of widgets that do show you the entry box. So, I like Plume's the best and, of the ones that I tried, I liked Android Pro Widget the least.

Lol. That been my nickname sense I was lil. I thought I was the only Kwes. I like your work so I'm not mad we have the same name.

How come all the de-sensed roms with Friendstream have this problem?

Friendstream doesn't have the option to add a twitter or flickr account. Only Facebook, anyone know why?
Most de-sensed ROMs don't have Twitter or Flickr built in. You can install them separately and they should work

I mainly want twitter but I have the official Twitter app and it's still only Facebook. Thats about the only thing I like from Sense, so I'm trying to not go back.
Better question ....How come this wasn't posted in the General Section?
Not flaming but come on now ...

Your Awesome!!! Thanks man.
One last thing, I just realized this rom doesn't have the friendstream widget either. If you get the time or if you can point me in the right direction that would be great. Sorry if I seem useless, It's probably because I am lol.
You need Sense to be able to use the friendstream widget
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
You desensed your rom so any app that is htc made, may or may not work. Some htc apps have been
identified to work. But switch back to a sense rom, to use sense apps. or find an equivalent in market.

he's looking for a launcher SWITCHER.. not a launcher.. tho I agree.. SPB is great.. I wish they'd port MORE of they're software over... like SPB wallet. I emailed them on it and the rep told me that wallet is being worked on but company policy prevents them from quoting dates. Good enough for me
/thread_hijack
for launcher switching I like to use homesmack ( https://market.android.com/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.homesmack&feature=search_result ). It's free. I should disclaim that it's the only one i've ever used so I dont' know if there may be a better one.. but this one does what it says with a nice UI.
Home Switcher works quite well actually.
Thanks I try them both.

Yes, as they are running in the background.
If you have any widgets on either homescreen, those will be running as well.

Looks like you don't have to wait too long for SPB Wallet
son of a.... i JUST EMAILED THEM YESTERDAY?!?!?! .. she couldn't disclose 24 hours... i bought splash ID instead of waiting (cuz i thought i had a few months)..
for that... i'm pirating.
I jest. LOL. Great product... but really.. she couldn't say "wait a day"?!? ...
I like Home Manager personally. has some cool functions and lets you auto-kill the other launchers if they keep popping. has quick switch function from status bar too for switching launchers fast.

What great bait.... "here, put all your REALLY important personal stuff right in this bucket, we'll protect it, we promise"
...then they sell the accounts and everyone gets wiped out at once.

Calender Widget

Anybody know of a good calendar widget that's something like the stock Calender widget? I'm looking for one that just doesn't show the calender but one that shows upcoming events. Pure calender widget sucks.

I like smooth calendar, which I believe was free. Doesn't take up too much space on the screen and is easily customizable.

Calengoo. That is one reason that I went with it, as I too got annoyed at trying to make sure the colors stayed consistent.
I like Agenda Widget.
I use CalWidget, does what I need it to do. Just displays whats coming up, you can also use custom colors and such.

Twicca is barebones, and customizable. Runs really smooth. Allows you to only install the add-ons you actually use.

I use http://goo.gl/d4gHQ
i've tried a few, but to me, tweetcaster is by far the best and easiest to use. Tons of features.
Tweetdark is pretty nice. Simple nice UI and works well.
I use the official app. It's cleaner than everything else. Plume is pretty good also, but I had an issue where the text box wasn't visible when my keyboard and predictive words popped up. The official app appropriately shifts everything up, so nothing disappears.
I use Plume but I like inline previews pics and Twitlonger
tweetdeck is better for me, it just keep it simple and has twitlonger and more
Can't figure out for the life of me how to view replies to a tweet in Twicca, does it not have this function? You can see what I mean by going to Twitter.com on a desktop PC and clicking any tweet, a nested area opens up showing replies.
Tweetcaster is my favorite because I can customize it.

Facebook App that's worth a crap?!

Official Facebook app won't post a status/pic, rarely posts my comments.
Fast Pro has too many bugs
Flipster is half ass, doesn't show everything, SLOW
Friendcaster Pro wants to show me everyones games more than statuses and such.
Everyone uses something different, what's a quality Facebook app youd recommend??

Official Facebook app is fine on a modern device. It is quite big (~20MB) and uses a big chunk of RAM (~45-50MB) so on older devices, it can be quite painful to run. Simply go to facebook.com in your mobile browser, you get the same interface.
Flipster is the best of the alternatives, but the problem with the alternatives is that 1) if you post from it (and this is anything but the website or the official app), Facebook doesn't share your status with all your friends. It's posted to your Timeline, but almost nobody will see it. And 2) it won't show you all your friends' statuses and photos. Their game activity will always show up, though, as well as anything sponsored.
Most likely the fastest is TweetDeck, or maybe TweakDeck (the former, only... tweaked). The interface looks like straight up ass, but it's fast, even on crappy phones. Tested and verified on Samsung Acclaim (800MHz ARMv6, 160MB RAM, ~20MB app install space, Froyo).
Tried "Scope"? It's an all-in-one social app.
