Basically, the title says it all. My question is how to convert existing ROM image which is .zip file int .kdz file so it will become flashable with LG tools(emergency mode).
Is it possible at all?
Is it possible to create .kdz image? Does such tool exist?

Not saying it is impossible. But if it could happen, i am guessing that someone would of already done it... hope you find something though.

in my mind nobody wants to spend to much time and/or effort to create LG specific tool. But if some day spec of kdz becomes available then don't think it'll take too long to make one
I'm interested in such a converter tool as well, which would be especially useful for installing custom ROMs using LG's own firmware upgrade tool.

I tried using the tools already available for other devices, but unfortunately they didn't work. I was wondering if anyone has had any success with this, and if not, if anyone with experience with .nbf could atleast take a look at that file and maybe give me any hints/pointers from previous experience, and hopefully i'd be able to make my own tool for extracting this.

edit: my goal using this is to upgrade to WM6.1 or 6.5. From what I understand, if I can get a dump of the files in the .nbf, and replace the appropriate files from another wm6.1/6.5 ROM, and use the installer that came with the update, then i'd reach my goal (obviously, much easier said than done)

After reading a bit through the pages of this Q&A forum I realized that there is no thread describing a proper method to flash a stock firmware into our "stock" tablets, I mean, without any customization or root.
Anyone please, could share his knowledge and enrich us into this subject? Yes, anyone knows how to proceed to flash a stock firmware through microSD?
Just to make things clear as possible, my wondering extends to which files add into microSD, the correct format, the correct structure to flash.
Really appreciate ideas and directions.

Get the firmware you want from the asus webpage, extract it, find in the extracted path another zip archive and rename it to EP101_SDUPDATE Make sure you leave it a zip dont change the extension AND make sure it is on the root of the card... boot by pressing the VOL DOWN + POWER button... as soon as you see some text press within 5 sec the UP button....and wait
Hello everyone, can anyone pull out the LG folders from system/priv_app, upload them somewhere and give me a link? Cause they only ones showing up for me are the LG Backup and Quicksomething.
Or, even better, is there a way for me to pull those apps from the 5.11PR .kdz file?
I think there is a tool to extract to .kdz, but i could be wrong.
Another method might be to grab the pr .img from one of the root threads and extract that?

Yeah, there is, but I've got no idea how to use it properly, it gives me bin files, which I can't open. You might be right with the .img though, gonna give it a try tommorow.

I own a Chinese phone with a lot of unneeded applications.
Fortunately, the maker has given the .zip software to flash it.
I'm able to open and mount on my Ubuntu computer the .img files and I can see the .apk I would remove. So far so good.
But I bet it is not that easy....
I've tried searching but all I can find is for flashing back the ROM and not about making it.
I would also like to add an su binary at the correct place ...
So I would like to find some documentation for packing back the software and flash it to the device. An How TO would be great and/or some documentation about the process.

Since the v40 firehouse is available and it works with the g7 by flashing the abl bootloader, I'm trying to create a rawprogram0.xml and I seem to can't get it to create one. I tried putting it in the GPTAnalyzer python program and it shoots out zeros on guid or anything uses a numerical value. I've tried different firmwares same result. I've seen a raw program file around here but that one, im not sure how the guy even managed to create it. He was on last a year ago and pretty sure he won't be coming back anytime soon to message him

i have rawprogram0.xml from my G710N, but i am not able to try it though because it still needs a firehose file, and i dont have that.
