[Q] Ethernet to Transformaer

Hey all
I am sure this has been discussed but I cant seem to find it. I will ask my question and if someone can direct me to the appropriate forum or answer my question I will be very great ful.
I have the asus tf300t without the pad. I am wondering if I can connect an ethernet cable to the micro hdmi slot to be able to get internet.
I am assuming I would need an ethernet to usb adapter and then a usb otg micro hdmi piece. Would this work and is there such a thing as the usb otg micro hdmi? I have only been able to find usb otg that is micro usb.
Any other suggestions?
Thank you all and keep up the great work!
You will need the USB converter. They are easy enough to find on Ebay or Amazon.

The you will need a USB to ethernet adapter.

Please note that these are just some of the random ones I found online and may not be the least expensive out there. Do a little shopping and you may find them for less $$.
Be cautious, not every USB>RJ45 adapter works. I bought one from some Chinese website, but it didn't work on my TF300. But I must add that I'm still on 4.0.3., so perhaps it's just a matter of getting my TF up to date.

[Q] USB to Ethernet

I need to get a USB to Ethernet adapter working with my HTC One S (T Mobile) and I am really struggling to figure out how to make this work.
I have the Apple USB-Ethernet Adapter, model number MB442.
That does not work inherently with the phone. It does work on my Asus Transformer, but not with the phone. I believe that the chipset in this adapter is the USB AX8817X.
So my question is, do any USB to Ethernet adapters work with the phones out of the box? And if so, which ones?
I'm relatively new to Linux/Android development so I don't know how to figure out if this chipset will work or how to compile and install drivers for it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm a new surface User and I'm looking for a dockingstation. I need an Ethernet Port, dvi Port and some USB Ports.
Does anybody have a dockingstation like this with his Surface RT?
Best regards

I don't believe that such a thing exists. There are various items available that can expand your RT's capabilities. For instance, this http://www.amazon.com/Bidul-card-re...d=1396802723&sr=8-5&keywords=surface+rt+ports will add extra USB and SD ports.
You can get MicroHDMI to DVi with this: http://www.amazon.com/Accell-J132B-002B-Type-D-Female-Adapter/dp/B005PHHO5M
I'm not sure about ethernet. I do believe that there is a USB Ethernet adapter that will work, but it needs to use a specific chipset and there is a non-obvious process to get it to work. Searching there forums for wired ethernet should locate the article for you.
Problem on the RT is that the only I/O are an i2c interface (which might aswell be excluded seeming as there is no plug and play way to interface with that), USB2.0 port and the microHDMI. The best you can hope for is to use an HDMI to DVI cable, USB hub and a USB ethernet adaptor.

Since the Surface 2 has USB3, wouldn't a dock or usb hub be more viable?
Things to replace Dockingstation
Hello!
Here is a list of goodies I used to connect my Surface RT 8.1 Update 1 in my Office:
D-Link USB Hub DUB-H7

EDIT: Not available at the moment; ordered this one to test it too: http://www.amazon.de/BIGtec-mini-HDMI-Kabel-vergoldet/dp/B00ATE93J6
TrendNET USB to Ethernet Adapter

(see this Post to get the Adapter working with Win 8.1 RT Update 1 >>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51919569&postcount=41 )
Mouse and Keyboard are just the usual DELL stuff. Tried different USB Sticks and external HDD; all are working.
Can you link to the DVI adapter again? That one goes to the USB hub too. Cheers.

[Q] Usb Ethernet support

I've seen that you can use an usb ethernet adapter to connect to LAN with android, so I wanted to test with a Shield Tablet.
I have a D-Link DUB-1312 adapter which works perfectly on pc, but neither my Shield or my Moto G are able to connect to LAN with this adapter.
Is there any driver for Android Lollipop? I have tested and app called Ethernet but says that cannot find the adapter.
I would appreciate some help.
Thank you
A search of Amazon reviews says that this one works out of the box http://www.amazon.ca/Plugable-Gigab...-Specific/dp/B003VSTDFG/ref=cm_srch_res_rtr_4. May be worth the money.

Does the U11+ have ethernet drivers on board ; ie is there a lan adapter that works ?

Hi,
I have the U11+ but can not get my lan adapters to work.
I have an Anker AH212 with rtl8167 chipset in it. Only the hub section works.
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B015875MQQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I also have purchased just for this the Flagpowerhdmi4k/lan/usb-c hub adapter.
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B075QD1KBL/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
HDMi and hub works but lan doesn't.
I also have a very old 10/100 NExus 7 noname lan-dongle that also doesn't work on my U11+.
I also tried it with RNDIS/Ethernet setting in Developer options, but to no avail.
Has anybody been able to get any lan adapter working on this phone ?
rgrds
I tried to use Belkin USB-C Ethernet adapter dedicated for Macbook Pro which is working with Samsung S8, but without success.
